Coming from a warmer climate, we fell in love with Chicago when we finally visited for a dedicated vacation this fall and are actively considering our move in the next few years. While we will be visiting in upcoming winters to get used to the Chicagoan winter, seeing how beautiful the city is in this peak winter evening is helping us get more excited and prepared. PS. Met a lot of kind Chicagoans during our trip; we hope to reciprocate in bringing the same level of kindness.

@@darekm101 Alas, I usually park at a family member's house. Honestly, your best bet is probably to park a little further away on a side street and walk! That way you don't have to pay for a garage.

What time of day is it? It seems so peaceful and quiet. Not many people around.
Because it was extremely cold. 😂 Only few crazy people out there willing to put up with the cold to see rare spectacular views. As for time of the day, right after sunset. Blue hour. I use Photopills app to tell me the exact time for season and place. Hope that helps, thank you for your comment!

It was. I can dress pretty warm but to work equipment my hands are always cold.
What time was this shot?
That was February, but that state of river doesn’t hold long due to warm water discharged from buildings. It happens during a cold snap which coul come January or February.
Any chances of snowing in Chicago in December/New Year?
Always Indy Indy! Changes of snowing in Chicago in Winter are quite good, especially last few years. I hope you'll get to experience some!
