Surprised it's not mentioned here but bloodseekers passive is very annoying for slark. Even from the other side of the map, when slark becomes low health, he can not regain hp from his innate due to being visible to the entire enemy team thanks to bloodseekers passive.
bloodseeker is not just annoying but is one of the strongest counters. He can see you when you are low, can rupture you so u can't move and has the movement speed to catch up if you try to run away

some midgame items that can help a core. You can get hurricane pike on certain heroes, force staff doesn't break leash, but for some reason casting hurricane pike on slark after he pounces on you breaks the leash, or casting it on anything from the pounce origin breaks it. Also harpoon breaks it.

interesting Ursa is not considered a good counter, the hero can easily own Slark jst from two things, his ulti can tank slark's ulti if needed, and the most important one is his 3rd skill being undispellable for nearly 40sec, enough for both to kite in back to a fight but now ursa being able to burst slark with his ulti on cooldown. Skull basher or/and diffusal works best.
Ursa is east target for slark, easily build the stacks and slark is compatible with difusual blade so Ursa has hard time vs slark and also he can pounce away for regen and come back
Another counter to Slark I don't hear about often, Underlord. Firestorm and pit can hit him regardless of his ult. Plus since most his damage comes from raw Agility, Atrophy Aura reduces his damage significantly.
