I love when Dan leads the audience somewhere, and then in a twist, reveals that we’ve already been listening to proof of a controversial point. There were several of those in this vid

Yeah. Upon repeated viewings the many Russian dolls reveal their faces. Notice how the video here starts with the 'drums'. Love this guy. I've learned so much from him and still know nothing. All hail Dan!
@@Tyrell_Corp2019 hahaha yeah, I will admit that this all happened a year ago, and I purchased a copy of this plugin at the time, and have since opened it up on almost every mix at least once, went “what am I supposed to do with this again… how does it help me..?”, got overwhelmed by all the features, and end up not using it. Learned so much from him but still know nothing is a perfect summary! I need to watch this guy do a step by step full mix from dry inputs to complete production!

I just watched the volcano 2 video yesterday, it’s 11 years old. I was soooo happy to see that Dan made the sequel all this time later, I can’t imagine anyone else teaching me as much in as short window

Volcano and Saturn have been my go to plugins for a long time. So much creative potential when combining these two.
This is insane, brilliant and it sounds stunning. It's one of those plugins that you almost have to learn like a synth to really reach it's potential and not spend hours tweaking. But I have high hopes for anyone who masters the workflow with this plugin, it could be a game changer.
Yep, it's just so complex, that it deters me. I don't want to spend hours tweaking. I do that before recording

Dan is the only teacher that helped me make progress ! He is the only one on youtube that explains you how the tool works instead of showing you some very specific examples !! To me, he is the smartest human in the whole audio production industry ! He is the king of audio !
I think I just learned about 15 ways to use a creative filter plug-in that I never thought of before. Fantastic sounding plug and outstanding tutorial. Mind blown.
For anyone wondering how to actually do this "MIDI-controlled filter in front of white noise" in Ableton Live, here's how to do it (or ONE way to do it at least!):
1) Create a MIDI track with some synth making white noise. I use "Analog" and just turn off OSC1 and OSC2 and turn on the Noise.
2) Add Volcano 3 to that MIDI track.
3) Create a MIDI track and add the "External Instrument" effect to it.
4) In External Instrument, send MIDI to your first track with Analog + Volcano.
5) ...
6) Profit!
You can add a MIDI Source to the modulation section and choose "Key Tracking". You can add an Envelope Generator and choose MIDI input (top button to the left of the envelope display).
This is a fantastic plugin! Kudos to the product and dev team behind it!

Many thanks for another exceptional walk thru from Dan. Wow! what useful plugin for any production. I thought Pro Q 3 was the be all and end all. Seems I'll have to add Volcano 3 to my collection. A brilliant addition to the Fab filter line up.
It's great as a creative filter like the previous versions, but the way this can be used as a tweaky colourful EQ is just so so so good and useful like Dan says.
Something I didn't know I needed but wouldn't want to be without now.

I've actually been demoing Volcano 2 for the past few weeks. It does WAY more than I thought a filter plugin would be able to do. The included modulation options really set it to the next level, besides the amazing sound. The presets do a great at showing off what is possible with it, i.e., way more than this pleb thought. To the point where I'm actually genuinely considering spending the dough for it, which I guess is why demos exist...

Respect for the science of acoustics really let’s you see tools in new creative ways, it’s led fabfilter to come up with some ingenious filter features, and it’s led Dan to a better understanding of the potential of Volcano 3 before its launch even happens than most of us will ever have

That first tune is giving me flashbacks to watching CHiPs on my nan's 1970's Rediffusion telly after demolishing half a tonne of pic 'n' mix from Woolies and getting battered by my older brother in our usual post World Of Sport wrestling match.

Often you reach for eq and saturation based effects while mixing certain tracks. with this you have it directly build in and have the possibility to choose different flavors and modulation and stereo madness as well. This could replace Pro-Q3 followed by Saturn in some places.
