The abominable snowman made me very happy! Your Christmas tree and wreath cupcakes are also my favorites. I very rarely comment on videos, however I enjoy yours so much that I am motivated to do so today. Merry Christmas!
I love that she treats this like a soaping project😂 like taking a portion of the frosting and coloring it and then adding it to the rest lol I love this so much. I felt validated when she said it was harder than she thought. I’m a baking and make royal icing cookies. Most people have no clue how hard it is and how much time is spent!!
You did great! I did not doubt that you could do it. My favorite is #1 & #4. Personally, I would eat #4. The more frosting, the more yummy... lol! Merry Christmas everyone at Royalty Soaps!
Katie: why is the snowman my favorite?? Me: BECAUSE HE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT IN HIS PUDGY GLORY!!!!! HE IS SO ADORABLE!!! I WANT HIM AS AN XMAS SOAP!!!!! Katie, you did great for being a beginner at decorating cupcakes! My favorites (other than the adorbs snowman) are the wreaths, but they are all cute and wonderful. Bakery perfection is in its little imperfections, that proves a person took their time and made them by hand.
Because they are not 'perfect' makes them perfect. Anything made by hand is always better than professionally made. I do like your snowman and the wreath the best.
Snowman is your favorite because cupcakes are just a delivery system for frosting. Just as long as you enjoy eating them. I also like Natasha's Kitchen. Preppy Kitchen as well.
Merry christmas! Would love to see you do this again, I used to do cupcake decorating and the best tip I found for the 2nd design you did is actually the 1B tip :) its still a dropflower but is much bigger so looks a lot fuller. Definitely try out american buttercream next time too (used salted butter to cut back on the sweetness, soften your butter beforehand and then just beat the absolute crap out of it with the beater attachment of your standmixer. Its ready to add the icing sugar when its basically white, this can take 10-15+ mins of beating, then use cream instead of milk to soften it to a pipable consistency). You'll also find it a lot easier to pipe if you hold the cupcake in your non-dominant hand. definitely make sure not to overfill the piping bag, only ever fill it about half way and twist the end around your finger so you can squeeze the bag from the back, and flick your wrist at the end of swirls for a clean finish!
LOL 😆 🤣 😂 😹 You crack me up!! I am going to have to go with #4. But most importantly remember that they are cupcakes 🧁 loaded with frosting is really all that matters and you were successful at that!! I really liked the green, white, pink frosted ones also. 🍦 If you used that technique with plain white and then used the snow glitter that would be beautiful!! 😍 ♥ 😍
I really loved the little Christmas trees!! I never would have thought to put little pink and green trees like that on cupcakes and I thought those turned out so cute 🥹 very wonderful job Katie 🫶🏻
They're all cute! I've been a hobby cake decorator for 22 years and when you first get into it it's very much trial and error as you find techniques you like or that work for you, even if you find already used techniques to try in the first place. You did great! I highly recommend Rosanna Pansino videos as she does a fabulous job explaining things (she's why I was able to pull off the Pinterest unicorn my daughter wanted for her 5th birthday, bless her) and recommending tools and colorants because much like with soap making there are a bajillion options and some you will prefer over others just because of your style and others are because of quality. If you want to keep trying cake decorating she's a fab resource and a fellow RUclipsr to boot.
The snowman is super cute but alot frosting. I like both 1 and 2. When I make cupcake for school or parties I tend to go with stripped butter cream and sprinkles simple easy and looks good
Love the snow monster! He’s adorable! The one you did half one color and then the other half with gold and the dollop in the middle looks like eyes with eyebrows! The pink trees kinda remind me of nipples! Lol But what counts is the taste! Thank you Katie for doing this......very entertaining! Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
A little baking tip: when adding wet and dry ingredients a little at a time- always end with dry. If you end with wet the batter can get a little curdley(a bit like rising with soap) and it can affect the final texture. you can see it a bit in the video, and just ending with dry prevents that😊
Super cute snow monster!! I would love to see you try buttercream, you have really good piping skills and I think they would translate to a stiff frosting in a very satisfying way!
You do a lot of soap piping so I was pretty confident you’d get it down!! 👍My only pro tips is that when holding and squeezing the piping bag, make sure to rest it in your palm and you squeeze mostly with your palm and not the fingers. (You won’t get as tired since it uses your forearm more) and then just guide with the other hand. I also typically pipe at an angle and not straight up and down. Lastly keep tension on the piping bag by twisting the end of the bag as you pipe helps too.
The most rewarding cup cakes I ever decorated were poinsettias. You take mini marshmallows and cut them in half diagonally and drop them in a container of colored sugar sprinkles. Shake it all about until coated. Then take the ‘petals‘ and place them on a frosted cupcake. It was so easy for my toddlers to join and had Gorgeous results.
Yeah, definitely need buttercream for the kind of detail work you wanted in 1 & 3 (altho still very cute). But #2 came out perfectly, you really used your soap frosting knowledge brilliantly to create those swirls! Planning to try that technique next time I make cupcakes.
I absolutely adore the pink Christmas trees and wreaths! At first I wasn't quite sure because I've never really associated pink with Christmas but they're soooo cute!
I've been making a woodworking project as a gift so at 7:25 when "they've all been sanded" was said, my immediate thought was: Oh yeah, you sandpapered the edges of the cupcakes, right? 😆 I had to get out some eggnog while watching this! The cupcakes look so yummy!
As a cake decorator whipped cream icing is too soft for decorating. A traditional buttercream and sometimes a little stiffer like the consistency of your soap frosting. Unfortunately sometimes it’s a little sweet because you have to add a little more dry to make it stiffer. Also red is one of the hardest colors to get a true red. If you make it in advance and let it sit it can get a deeper consistency. Gel food coloring is good. Also if you use too much coloring it can turn your frosting bitter. You can add some strawberry powder to kind of cut the bitterness. Another tip is using chilled frosting and keep chilling your bag as you Frost more cupcakes because the heat of your hand will start melting the icing
I loved the improvisation! Seeing the same cupcake techniques can get a little tired, but those wreaths were adorable. And I think the trees would have looked just as good if the frosting was able to hold its own weight better
okay, but I actually really like the first set lol (maybe without the dipped in sprinkles part, though? I don't like biting into that many sugar crystals lol)
So, for filling the bag, you want it about 1/2 to 3/4 full. You also want to make a twist somewhere around the middle of the bag to keep the frosting from shooting back up into the top. The lower the twist is, the more control you have and less pressure on your palm. however, you will have to refill the bag more often. It's also not so easy to do with a striped bag, as the color will start to run inevitably. Still, not a bad try! I'd like to suggest adding a leaf tip and grass tip to the mix. I've done trees by just doing a spiral with a grass tip, and a leaf tip is great for a wreath. A colored leaf tip is also how I do poinsettias with a grass tip for the center :) P.S.: I've been a cake decorator for 20 years.
The abominable snowman made me very happy! Your Christmas tree and wreath cupcakes are also my favorites. I very rarely comment on videos, however I enjoy yours so much that I am motivated to do so today. Merry Christmas!
My Home Ec teacher used to say there is nothing wrong with trying your own food. How else are you going to know if its good or not.
So true!
Home Ec should have never been canceled. Learned so much in that class.
@@rachelleh5237 The country would never survive if we all knew how economics REALLY worked.
Worked in a kitchen for years.
We call it Quality Checks.
Haha I love that the missing ones are because you just had to eat them. Very very relatable.
I loved the pink and green combo
I love that she treats this like a soaping project😂 like taking a portion of the frosting and coloring it and then adding it to the rest lol I love this so much. I felt validated when she said it was harder than she thought. I’m a baking and make royal icing cookies. Most people have no clue how hard it is and how much time is spent!!
Look-wise, my favorite is the derpy snowman. Actually looking like something I’d want to eat? Either the wreath (green version) or cupcake # 2.
The 1M tip is my favorite for cupcakes. If you start in the center, you get easy roses & lots of complements.
You did great! I did not doubt that you could do it. My favorite is #1 & #4. Personally, I would eat #4. The more frosting, the more yummy... lol! Merry Christmas everyone at Royalty Soaps!
Your snowman is so cute! Such a good idea to use the snowflakes as hands!!😍
I love #4! That snowman is beyond adorable!
that little snowman cupcake has my heart
#4! His little snowflake hands!! ❤❤❤
I really liked the wreath. There's a TON of Christmas decorating ideas that you can look up and the snow man is super cute.
Number 4 is the best!!! I love the little snowflake arms!!! 🥰
Because they are not 'perfect' makes them perfect. Anything made by hand is always better than professionally made. I do like your snowman and the wreath the best.
I like the wreaths best of the multiple cupcakes but you’re right that the snowman is the most adorable one
Frosty the snow blob made me giggle. The wreaths are cute tho.
Mr.Snowman cupcake is my favorite! He just has so much personality :3
Honestly 4, the little cream monster is so CUTE! Looks like a little chubby snowman
Team Snowman! (I enjoyed all of them, though. Cupcakes are fun when they’re colorful and yummy, period.) ❤️
the little snowman!! 😂💕 i absolutely adore him. apart from that i actually thought the first design was the cutest!
I love the snowman! He was adorable

The snowman!! Is so cute! Snowman is my favorite too. ❤
15:30 LOL OMG IT"S SO DOPEY IT'S ADORABLE!
That snowman ⛄ is super adorable 😍. I like the Christmas wreaths on crystal sugar snow the best
I really loved the little Christmas trees!! I never would have thought to put little pink and green trees like that on cupcakes and I thought those turned out so cute 🥹 very wonderful job Katie 🫶🏻
The chonky snowman!!! He's so cuuute! 😍
I love the StayPuff marshmallow man you made. I know you were going for snowman but I thought marshmallow as soon as I saw it. It’s adorable.
They're all cute! No. 4 is my favourite. Merry Christmas and thanks for the videos, we do enjoy them immensely.
Honestly they’re all so cute. Made with love. That’s what matters. Heck they look better then I could ever do.
But the snowman was a work of art! The cutest ever 😍
The big snowman/monster is definitely my favourite! He's so cuuuuute! 😍
This is my jam, bread and butter. I love seeing you transfer your skills! They all look delicious!
the snowman cupcake is the cutest thing ever 😍
The snowman is super cute but alot frosting. I like both 1 and 2. When I make cupcake for school or parties I tend to go with stripped butter cream and sprinkles simple easy and looks good
All of the #1 cupcakes (trees and wreaths) and #4 are my favorite 😀❤️🎄☃️
Quality control of cupcakes (even before frosting) is SO important ;) There is no reason to risk wasting good frosting on potentially bad cupcakes^^
I love the snow monster! His little hands are so cute!
Definitely should have done red and green. Pink and green gives more of a spring vibe instead of Christmas.
The wreath, the second set, and the snow man are my favorites! Can’t wait to try Audible. Thanks always for such fun content!
Your snow monster made me laugh and cry, its super cute omg!
When I use whipped cream based frosting I usually opt for powdered food coloring and mix it in with my whipping cream before I whip it.
The snowman made me smile so my vote is for that one.
1, 2 and 4 are my favorite. You always do so good in whatever you try! They looked all pretty to be honest
Oh my definitely #4 the snowman was/is everything ❤❤😂
The snowman is even my favourite!

Definitely 4, I love the little snowman!!!❤
I love them all. Your family will enjoy them because you made them with love.❤
PLOPPY THE SNOW BLOB! I love him.
The snowman was adorable... but it did feel an awful lot like the Adipose from Doctor Who... which are also adorable!
I like the snowman one the best but I bet they all tasted dreamy.
Super cute snow monster!! I would love to see you try buttercream, you have really good piping skills and I think they would translate to a stiff frosting in a very satisfying way!
Okay but the snow monster was so cute! 😂❤️

I think the snowman cupcake was the cutest one.
I have loved Soapmas with you every year! So fun!! Merry Christmas Katie!
Very cute! Thanks for reminding me that making magazine worthy desserts is even hard for brilliant creatives.
I think the snow frosting by itself looked the best. But of the finished designs, I liked the snowman!
omg the snowman is so cuute, he's my favorite, too!
I love the swirl with pink and green! And the sprinkles were perfect on them 😍
The most rewarding cup cakes I ever decorated were poinsettias. You take mini marshmallows and cut them in half diagonally and drop them in a container of colored sugar sprinkles. I love the thicc snowman! Should have done more of him!
I love the snowman too! I think it’s the big body and small snowflake hands.
I absolutely adore the pink Christmas trees and wreaths! At first I wasn't quite sure because I've never really associated pink with Christmas but they're soooo cute!

Ok so the snowman made me think of the stay puff marshmallow man from the original ghostbusters. I love it!

The Snowman with the teeny arms is SO cute! LOL
I never thought I'd love green, pink and white all together, I'm low key obsessed x
I love the little snowman!
Omg yes! I am here for this content! I always knew she'd be good a decorating cakes too!
I bought some stuff from fancy sprinkles to use in resin projects. I love candy themed resin pieces almost as much as I love sweets.❤️
The snow monster is friggin’ adorable lmao ⛄️
The snowman is adorable
Katie is just hilarious and very relatable.
Cupcake 4 reminds me of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters
I loved the improvisation! Seeing the same cupcake techniques can get a little tired, but those wreaths were adorable. And I think the trees would have looked just as good if the frosting was able to hold its own weight better
3 is definitely my favorite! 4 is my second favorite!
The pink wreaths looks like Mochi donuts, but I say that as a compliment! So cute!
2. And whipped cream frosting is my favorite!
I love 1 and 4!! They're so precious and me and my 3 year old LOVE YOUR VIDEOS we just watched this and she agrees 1 and 4 lol
The snow man was the cutest thing 😍 I loved it. (Also whipped cream is my favorite, really dislike most buttercreams)
Number 3 just needed eyes and it would be an adorable winter creature!
2 and 4 are my favorite. Very nice video. Have a good day 😊
Latin cakes are all made with whipped cream. Many times we use Pudding powder to stabilize the whipped cream in the summer.
okay, but I actually really like the first set lol (maybe without the dipped in sprinkles part, though? I don't like biting into that many sugar crystals lol)
my favorite was definitely #4! loved the snowman 😭
so fun to watch you, you are delightful!
So, for filling the bag, you want it about 1/2 to 3/4 full. You also want to make a twist somewhere around the middle of the bag to keep the frosting from shooting back up into the top. I'd like to suggest adding a leaf tip and grass tip to the mix. I've done trees by just doing a spiral with a grass tip, and a leaf tip is great for a wreath. A colored leaf tip is also how I do poinsettias with a grass tip for the center :)
P.S.: I've been a cake decorator for 20 years.
Snow monster is my favorite. Love your little laugh when you described him! Merry Christmas ♥
Good job!! They’re all so cute! And you already succeeded because they TASTE GOOD 🎉
LOL the "snowman" reminded me of the Stay Puff marshmallow man from Ghostbusters (the original) BUT love it the best.
These are all so cute! Gotta love the classic #2! I’m baking cupcakes tomorrow and this has really inspired me!
