How cool to have stores packed like that. Here in Chile tobacco is taxed heavily so its very expensive and there aren't many options. We get the most popular stuff only and at ~double the original price.
@@OldColonyPiper-or3kq I have a friend in TN who used to do exactly that for me and a few others. I'm in The UK and it's a similar story here, taxation wise, in fact "tobacco" itself is almost a dirty word here! Anyway I used to purchase cigars online, get them shipped to my friend in TN and then he would repackage with a shall we say more "favourable" labeling and then ship them on to me after I'd wired him his costs. It worked very nicely for quite a while but he retired his services a couple of years ago, unfortunately.
I Was Personally Introduced To Pipe Smoking By John Bell Him Self. Such A Nice GuyI’ve Still Got And Smoke The Pipes He Sold Me In 99. I Love Tobacco, I’ve Rolled My Own Cigeretts , Snuff Tobacco, Cigars, Yes Tobacco Is A Big Part Of My Life. Good One Mutton Chop Really Enjoyed It.
Hi Muttonchop. I'm just starting my journey into the pipe smoking hobby, And I just found your channel, it's like a treasure trove of pipe information. It helps me alot and im enjoying watching you talk so passionately about pipe smoking. Keep up the good work. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Hey Muttnchop, I"m a fairly new pipe smoker and have enjoyed your vids. I live east of Cincinnati and have been to Bell's on several occasions. The staff there are awesome! In fact when I went there the first time, I had purchased a pipe and some tobacco and the guy behind the counter took me over to a box of estate pipes and said just pick one and he gave it to me. That's great customer service! I really enjoy these kind of videos because good tobacco stores are few and far between. I do have a recommendation for you though. If you are ever in the Dayton area, just a little east of there is Beavercreek OH. There is a brick and mortar called "the wharf" I highly recommend that one. Keep up the good work! Wes
Interesting what you said about cigars! I enjoy both pipes and cigars, but I smoked cigars first. Transitioning from cigars to pipes was not easy, and my first ever bowl was an English blend. I seem to recall puffing on the pipe repeatedly and having to keep checking for smoke coming out of my mouth, thinking "am...am I really smoking?" because compared to the bold nature of a cigar, pipe tobacco has a much more delicate profile. I have since refined my palette and now thoroughly enjoy a good pipe. I think I would have to agree that the variety you get with pipe tobacco is unmatched, the difference between even smelling two tins is mind-blowing. Personally however, cigars provide me with a much deeper and more complex flavor experience. Describing them as "less flavorful" than pipes is not something I would have ever expected, but hey to each his own! Perhaps I am smoking the wrong blends. Do you have any recommendations? I enjoy English, Virginia, and Aromatic Blends. Keep up the good work, greetings from Germany :)
A lovely Muttonchop tour 😄👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 That Cincinnati tobacconist has everything for pipe and cigar smokers….a fantastic choice…..a nice chat with owner too 😊 Thank you taking us there 👍👍😉💨💨💨
Nice video. If you are ever in the Pittsburgh Pa. area we have a nice shop in Blawnox, Allegheny Smokeworks. Very nice shop with a good selection of pipes, pipe tobacco, accessories and cigars. Also a smoking lounge…….
Sir, where can one get your belt smoking bag holding the pipes, cleaners etc. Looks just right for my travelling and out at the lake. You are welcome to come do some fishing in BC Canada 🇨🇦
Good to see pipes in your local stores. Sadly we lost most of our local pipe shops, but there is plenty of vapes, and glass crack pipe shops opening! Great video , loved the tour!
Just had my first successful smoke this morning using a Rossi Oom Paul and Peterson EMP. Bowl stayed lit, good cadence, and tasted the tobacco. Finally! And your advice videos were a massive help. Thank you.
Yup, my local b&m shop has the Lane 1Q blends. I like it, nice to have. Some people have to drive miles and miles. That local of mine is The Cigar Chapel in Bend, OR. Incredible staff, very friendly and knowledgeable.
Hi mutton. Only thing. The pack you mentioned for carrying cigars in the go is actually a boveda pack for keeping humidity in a humidor. I actually use smaller ones for my pipe tobaccos in ceramic tobacco jars. Keep up the great videos.
Muttnchop You Floored Me With This One. This Was My Go To Shop As They Say Back In The Day. So Mr Bell Retired Then, I Guess We All Do Eventually. I Don’t Know If You’ve Ever Met Him, He Is Such A Great Guy. I’d Still Be Going There Had I Not Moved To Highland County Wow This One Blew My Mind As You Can Probably Tell, Again Thank You, I’m Getting Old And Rambling.
I enjoy cigars too and anytime I go to a cigar place, and see they sell pipe tobacco too, I always try and buy some as well so that I can express how much I appreciate them selling it as well even though it’s very niche these days
Muttonchop, if you ever find yourself vacationing in WA State you have to check out a place called the Cargo Hold in Poulsbo. Doug runs the place and its a nautical store but hes one of the largest tobacconists in Western WA and Doug is a great friend of mine.
Hi Muttonchop. I'm just starting my journey into the pipe smoking hobby, still in the research phase And I just found your channel last night on Breathing technics and have been binge watching them all day, it's like I found a manual on how to smoke a pipe, what to look for in selecting your first pipe and preferred tobacco selections for starters. after all the videos, some as old as 7+yrs, in 2024 do you still recommend the same options ( IE. tobacco brands, pipe styles and breathing technics) or have they changed with the times? also I am subscribing so I don't lose you in the algorithm 🪣
Can you do a video on smoking a pipe indoors? I picked it up to ween off cigs, and it would work great if I could find a nice place indoors to smoke...but I live with other people.
Anyone heard of "Noble" tobacco? I saw someone wearing a jacket the other day and it said in bold letters "Noble" fine smoking tobacco. Looked like a promotional item.
What a great video! Unfortunately, it's starting to feel like The US is the last country left standing where there's a freedom to enjoy tobacco. You just won't find stores like this in The UK outside of a few VERY high end places, mostly in London. In fact the very word "tobacco" has just about been reduced down to a dirty word that dare not speak its name! And as for the eye watering taxation, don't get me started!
Same. I've visited these stores that sell cannabis accessories and I've found that their tobacco selection is usually lackluster and overpriced. It's a damn shame.
I've been to Bell's quite a few times. They used to have some nice Rattray pipes, but i bought them. 😂 I would.hughly.suggest that you check out The Wharf in Beavercreek, Ohio (Dayton area). Its been there since 80 or 81 and its awesome. If you go on a Monday evening they have a pipe club meet up.
@dave53B oh didn't realize it was just first Monday. Got my first pipe there back in 2002 when I was loving in Kettering. Now I go up every couple.of months or so, but it's well worth the hour drive.
Mutton's looking like he's been hitting the gym, keep killing it!

Same here in Brazil my friend. And it's worse the further from the sea coast and south regions.
In New Zealand, prices are 9 times the U.S. price...
@@MBCGRS You don't live in a free country, you are a serf.
Maybe we can mail some to you? Somehow?

we need a muttonchop pilgrimage route for supporting the industry, a map per se for people to refrence when travelling!

I love these store tours. We just don't have these anymore north of the border. It's making me want to go on a roadie.
Bell's is what got me into tobacco known John and his Daughter since I moved to Cincinnati in2010

I wish I would have known you were going to be here, this is like 10 minutes down the road from me!
If Cincinnati is close to home for you, I'd recommend coming down to Dayton and visiting the Wharf

Yeah I have not seen those belt pouches before, would be good to know where to get something like that.
Looks like a Harbor Freight Voyager tool belt.
Great good morning Muttnchop! From Kamloops BC. Fly fishing capital of the planet. Love your teaching.

Awesome! I'll have to swing by there on my next trip in Cincinnati
Great Store You’ll Like It
If you're in the area get up to Dayton and check out the Wharf.

Nice and simple shop❤
Good to see a shop survived the retirement of the owner.

I’m Sorry Mr Bell I Herd Wrong If Your Reading This Thank For Starting My Journey In 99 With Pipe Smoking ❤.
Should have asked more pipe specific questions such as how much business do they get for pipes and tobaccos and then comparatively vs cigars
Thanks for the tour. Love it. Was at my local brick and mortar yesterday and made a few purchases and had a nice talk with the owner.
Big recommendation for Iwan Ries tobacconist in Chicago if you’re ever around!
Legend says muttnchop used their bathroom and didn’t flush. But I refuse to believe it.

Sick pipe-pack Mutton!
You been to the Pipe Rack Manchester Rd Akron Ohio ?
New sub here. I am a hillbilly from Missouri in the Philippines now I can buy leaf tobacco at the market, but taste terrible. How can I flavor it?
Some tobacconist I know flavor tobacco with food grade flavorings, caramel, cherry, vanilla, etc.
Personally, I refuse to go into a store that also has vapes, bongs, and stuff like that
