    Instead of the rook trade we can just take with knight and if he takes we can take with rook and delivering a checkmate

    When you spot the obvious check, depending on your depth, the solution becomes obvious. I effing loved the puzzle. Wish it happens everyday in my games

    I feel good about finding this one. Working backwards and seeing the knight attacks the Queen at the end of the line essentially solves the missing piece for you.

    Pretty cool that as a 500 rating I solved it without pausing before he can explain. I figured should I sac bishop and seen the fork afterwards.

    When I hear white to play and “win” I assume the puzzle is looking for checkmate, not winning material xd

      My bad for the confusion! Win is always ambiguous (could be mate or decisive material) on purpose for you to find what exactly is winning!

      I mean the point of a puzzle is never to find a losing combination, so if you specify play “and win” it has to mean that the solution is a checkmate. In the absence of an opponent there cannot be resignation, so win is necessarily checkmate, a winning position is not a win, for example, this very puzzle started with a queen down and still led to a winning position.

    These puzzles confuse me because I don’t know if there’s like Mate in X or I’m just supposed to find a play that leaves me ahead. So sometimes I start a line and ditch it because it doesn’t lead to another check
