      My brother adopted his cat named Lucky, the cat was 5 months old the first day he was adopted. The cat is now over 2 years old and he impregnated my sister's cat and now I'm gonna have a kitten of my own in over a month. Thanks lucky, Now I have to watch these kitten care videos to make sure I am able to take care of a month old kitten. 🐈🐱😻😸

    I went to the shelter today after my adoption application was approved with every intention of getting a kitten. As my mom sister and I are looking at all of the cats there’s this one cat that was screaming. He was in a room all by himself. I went in there and he was the sweetest cat I had ever met. He was obsessed with love and attention. I still wasn’t sure because his constant screaming when not receiving that attention threw me off. I initially picked this one kitten that I had to wait a couple days for because he was going to get neutered. As we were walking back to the car temporarily empty handed I mentioned the other cat to my mom.
    She said,
    “Is he the cat you want?” and I was like…he is.
    So I went back inside and said I’d changed my mind and adopted the loud but sweet 2 year old cat that had apparently been a stray his whole life until he was brought there a few weeks before.
    Best decision ever.

    We have had many cats over the years but the last one we adopted is a male Maine Coon cross. He had been returned twice to the shelter and was not in a good state of mind. The ladies at the shelter thought he might not be adoptable as he was cringing in the farthest corner of his cage. I sat in front of his cage with my hand flat on the bottom of his cage. Eventually he came out and sniffed my hand. That was all I needed and brought him home. We left him alone and he hid for the first week but now, 4yrs later he is VERY happy kitty with lots of caves to hide in if he is inclined. He has changed a lot and will come and get one of us if he wants some attention. He is such a happy boy now and has the run of an old 3 floor house and backyard which he stays in. Definitely a mommas buy. We love him to bits and he knows that. Spends a lot of his time on his heated bed purring. Life is good and he is probably the best behaved cat we have ever seen. Such a delight.

      Hello, I'm part of an association where we save cats from streets or other, and I have this 7month old cat, very scared of humans, he hides under the bed. He likes my apartment, he just doesn't trust humans yet. I try to associate my presence with good things and treats but I don't know if I should do more.I followed a couple advices from some videos to help the cat but I'd like to know what you did to help your cat feel less afraid

    Not spending money on toys for cats is so true. My dad always gave them shoe boxes, paper, and string. We had a cardboard colliseum we called the “kitten thunder dome” and we’d put them in there and they’d go nuts playing with each other haha

    Some things that need to be added in this video are that cats are sensitive with their whiskers and they need a wider bowl to eat out of so they don’t get crinkled whiskers. And they like running water. Also, if you have one that loves to play with the toilet paper, just turn the roll around and it won’t roll off.

    • @AmberJones-cq6wn
      @AmberJones-cq6wn 6 месяцев назад +1

      Awesome point! I learned that just by googling random subjects on my new kitty. I noticed she seemed a little bit more at ease snd enjoyed it even more. A plate for eating and wide bowl for drinking.

    • @Quagthistle
      @Quagthistle 2 месяца назад

      My cats love eating off corelle bread plates, and they're easy to wash in the dishwasher. (I originally bought the plates for one of my cats who had a bad reaction to metal or plastic food bowls. She has since passed due to throat cancer, but I still use the plates because the cats seem to like them. The only downside is that food doesn't stay on them well, so I place them on pizza trays to keep food bits off the floor.)

    In the late 70’s and early 80’s. My family adopted 2 cats from being strays. First one during the summer of 1979. He was a sweet and friendly red tabby cat. He suckered my mother in adopted him into our home. 2nd cat came around late September 1981. I became his best friend when he was a stray. It took a month and a half to adopted him in. He was also a red tabby cat,too. He was my fault because I gave him the loved and even the attention . He was so sweet and friendly cat. He even became friends with the 1st cat. They instantly bonded. The 2nd cat was more than my cat for a little bit over 12 years. He did spread the love. My mother fell in loved with the 2nd cat because he was a big sweetie. They were both smart to find a good home. They were both indoor and outdoor cats. One cat did wonder around the neighborhood and the other cat stayed in the yard. I was lucky to had them both while I was a kid, teens, and in my 20’s to had them. The 1st cat lived with my parents almost 18 years. He was very good cat. He was a buddy towards me. He did loved me in his old age by heading bumping towards my nose and chin while I was cuddling with him. I do missed them both.

    Thanks for this video! It's even useful for if people want to start taking care of their cats a little better! It can definitely be hard to bond cats sometimes, I have a cat who has been with another cat for 7 years, around 3 of those years without the cat, and he still doesn't like her. I think that's just the way he is though, he doesn't like any of the cats. Anyway I enjoy your content, I love cats!

    Um, trimming a cat's nails will absolutely not keep them from scratching the furniture... if anything, they'll feel like something is wrong with their nails and want to sharpen them more. It may blunt their claws briefly, but it won't alter their behavior.

    When we brought in a new cat and introduced our new cat to our old cat they didn't get a long at first but we were there to stop them from fighting. After a couple of days they got a long just fine. We had a male and she was female. The male was the older cat and the female was the one we got from outside. We don't have any cats at the moment but we are bringing in one today. In a couple of house I will have our new fur baby a female cat. We are going to get that vet appointment today. I hope to get it done sooner then later for sure. Two weeks is too long.

    i have a Persian female we adopted her when she was 2 months and now she is already 1 year old, then I decided to adopt another cat (British short hair) she is 10 months old, in her 1st her first week I caged her to relax her body and now I decided to un cage her so she can roam and settled in. However, she kept on hissing if I tried to pet her, so i leave her and did not to scare her. But she constantly eats and uses her litter box, maybe I just need more time before we can pet her and play with her. Is this normal for them to always be in one corner the whole day?

      When you first get a cat, I would say that it is the time where they are just settling in and are getting used to their surroundings, that is probably why it will not come near you, I promise you a few months or weeks after they will become more used to the surrounding and people who live with them and become more affectionate towards you

    • @mellawes533
      @mellawes533 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@EsaSudheer-cf8wf Most cats will hide for the first few weeks until they get to know their new surroundings. It is very normal. They are scared in new places that's why it's very important to keep them inside for the first month or they will flee and lose their way back. You must be patient, give them toys, boxes, a bed and talk to them often in a quiet soft voice. You must let them come to you when they feel safe, no matter how long that takes. They will come around when they feel they can trust you but you can't force that, each one has their own timeline. Make sure they have a comfy bed to retreat to with toys.

    It is wrong, cruel, very stressful for the cat involved and totally unnecessary and if I may say...rather selfish of the owner who do this... • @booperpotpie9634
      @booperpotpie9634 6 месяцев назад

      It is a good idea to have health insurance for your cat. It is relatively inexpensive and worth it for peace of mind. One illness or injury and you'll find it was money well spent. Our pets are like our children. We are responsible for ensuring all of their needs are met, and that includes medical and dental care. Be aware that many insurers will not accept a cat after a cat reaches a certain age, so do not wait until your cat is older to take out a policy on it.

      Take him to the vet. They may have to sedate him to bathe him. Keep him inside if there are skunks around, he's not safe. Better still, build a catio!
