love the way your stalls with the runs are set up. very nice, but doesn't look expensive to build or keep up. I'll be watching your series. thanks for sharing with us out here.
+Melanie Willard Not too expensive...the nice thing is if the horses kick at each other they don't break legs as the fence gives. If it gets too beat up you can change wire every few years
Susan Smith I typically try to match up a mustang with a client through the BLM adoption process that way I don't have to find someone that fits a horse I have. I can help a person with a desire to adopt find one that is suitable and fits them. I have never had one returned to the BLM that way. Too many horses get picked because they are pretty or some other fantasy and then when they get them home with no experience they find they have a wild horse and no idea what to do with it.
BLM is a very bad corporation.. I was looking around. I guess if my desire is so bad I will go to SPCA before I find the one for me.. Thank You !! I do love how you speak to your horses. But there was a Video you did and all the planes and helli's and sirens going of you had a horse out there I thought you would have trouble with them, you had just got back from picking them up from BLM and I was sitting in my chair thought you would have problems. You were so calm. I live in the country so no noise. When I am in town the bells and whistles go off and I ask what is that. Thank You for answering some strange questions. I always ask if I am in question about some thing..
Lilly Stithos They are starting to do Rescue Horse Makeovers here now ...Maybe thats something they could do over there Lilly. They often are a challenge and gives them a new life.
Also for here in Australia!! We have our wild horses but I'm unsure of these types of structured programmes that allow people like myself- riders and trainers alike or lovers of horses with SOME skills to adopt these babies with hearts of gold 🐴🐎
Heidi Lorenz She is sweet and I am happy to say she got to come home from the Makeover with me for a couple more months as my client adopted her at the competition as the third highest selling horse.
coloradoreinsman Oh that is such good news! Thanks for sharing it with me...I only just discovered your videos and have watched so many of them now...I want to meet you and watch you work...I'll be in Durango in Oct...are you doing anything in that area? I get the impression you are farther north, but, worth a note just in case...I looked at your website, but, you don't have any current listings for workshops or demos there...perhaps because you are not doing them, ha, ha! Anyway, love what you're doing thanks so much for sharing here on youtube with us all!
coloradoreinsman I am so proud of what you do! I had a few horses in my youth and I though Mustangs were an excellent horse...compared to some of the inbred stupid "fancy" purebreds I had to deal with. I quickly tired of peoples boasting how papered their horses wrer
+michael iacono You're very welcome. I have a series going on of the two mares I am training for two different clients that may help you. Cora and Shiloh. Cora was born in holding and Shiloh was wild caught so very different horses at first. Hope they help.
She is out of a herd management area called Adobe Town in Wyoming. I picked her up in Illinois at the Blm station in Ewing. She had been in holding pens in Canyon City, Colorado, at the prison complex. I hope that helps...I've run out of places...lol
Great work! It's impressive to see how calm you are, you are a true horseman :) My dream is to enter the extreme mustang makeover, but it might be tough since I'm from Belgium :p
coloradoreinsman that sounds like a response I like! (As in “infamous ol’ Rick. Stuck in his own little world) I respect you sir, I shall catch up on your journey.
Man I picked up my mustang g or the youth mustang makeover in fort worth and for what ever reason I wanted a roan just like this pretty girl but I love my little bay just the same
Such a nice, honest mare, well balanced and athletic looking. Reactive, true, but in an honest way -- she does make her intentions clear, n'est-ce pas? I'm looking forward to seeing what this sturdy little beast does as she learns to see her new world without fear. Sean Davies, it interests me that the philosophy and methodology of your gentling and training (not gonna use the word "program" because to me that implies a one-size-fits-all attitude which you definitely -- thank God -- do not have) -- whatever we call it, the way you do things with these mustangs could pass easily back and forth with the things I've always done after bringing other people's mentally-damaged, difficult racehorses (deranged TBs being my favorite kind because when they learn to relax and trust, they will give you the moon) off the track. As I'm sure you've done or would do, when a horse off the track comes to me FUBAR, I re-start them as if they'd never been handled by a human, then let them choose the pace at which we proceed within the bounds of gentle discipline. The guy in my profile photo? He was so hideous that I paid a whopping $250 for him, and the trainer thought he was ripping me off... Also, what struck me from the get-go watching your videos (and many others) was the lack of ear-shyness in these mustangs once their natural resistance to being touched on the head is overcome. It's set me to thinking in a big way of how we humans create so many frightened and traumatized "broke" horses.
Names!? The options are endless huh... something like sweetie or sweetheart or even that but in translation? Baby? Hmmm... Q: How tall is she? No more than 15 yeah? She's a little sweet baby!
what are the rules of owning a mustang? Like number of acreage and fencing etc. She is gonna be a sweet girl....I've been around horses all my life and trained lots of them...had my Morgan 23 years and he was a rescue, wish I could put that man in a closet with no food or water for a month. Trace weighed 650 and should of weighed 1000-1200 lbs. Karma will get him.
Hi Debbie....if you go to the Blm website they can give you all the info.... if you're getting a completely unhandled one you have to have sturdy 6 foot high fences among other things. Mustangs are very different from domestic horses at first so I do suggest working with an experienced Mustang trainer the first time. The taming process is the most important thing. Phoenix is not typical....trying to climb over the walls often is.
your love for these horses is so genuine. truly admirable!
I just love to watch you work! You're one of the best trainer's I've ever seen. You're so gentle with them and you have a very pleasant voice.
Love how you interact with these horses....very gentle but firm.!
Calm and assertive as I like to say. Otherwise things tend to go ugly with Mustangs in a hurry.
Thank you, Mr. Davies, for taking her home and caring for her.
Her appy roan combo sure is eye-catching. I like how curious she seems about everything. You are very patient.

I just heard about you off of Rick Gores channel you look to be amazing!! Thank you for helping her
I grew up on the back of a mustang just like her. She's gorgeous, and I can't wait to see her progress.
+Jaxence They are wonderful horses...I have quite a few coming in Spring to tame and train....lots more videos coming .
+coloradoreinsman Do you adopt them out??

Where did you say you got her from? I tried to look up the city and couldn't find it.

Get everyone together and fly over to see one here! or just come work with me for a week or so.
I was wondering if you work with working students. If so, I'd be interested, where can I find your email adress or contact you? :)
@@wdressage5140 Yes, and Clinton Anderson went to Australia years ago to try his method on an unhandled brumby stallion!
Have you heard of Rick Gore. He is another good horseman.
LOL....yes I know of ol' Rick
coloradoreinsman that sounds like a response I like! (As in “infamous ol’ Rick. Stuck in his own little world) I respect you sir, I shall catch up on your journey.

Very pretty horse. I would hope you've done well by each other.
She is a beautiful Adobe town WY mare.

I can tell she's going to be a special "in your pocket" kind of horse.

Yes she sure is!
That's one gorgeous horse I wish I had it I wish I had a land to put it on

Yawning is a sign of releasing stress
Well yes that is one explanation for it Ginger. That and she just had a 27 hour trailer ride .
Try smelling breathe with her, it's how they greet. Don't get bit
I'll try not to. This was last year though so I don't think I'll get bit .
ginger cox
Name her Baby Roan
poor mustangs....the mustangs are gentle horses.....while the gringos are killer predators..!!
