What a beautiful tribute to two brilliant performers. Their charm and talent was so evident, and they were never headliners or even supporting actors in a film. Imagine what heights they would reach today! Congratulations to Fayard's son and granddaughters and their continued legacy of amazing dance.
That's wonderful that the family has been able to continue and share their dancing legacy! Fayard's son and granddaughters seem like such lovely people. What a sweet family! ❤️
They ARE great, down to earth, kind people!!!...I take tap (and hip hop) with Cathie at the studio so I'm fortunate to be in the atmosphere every week!!
@@SwiftFoxProductions ha ha ha!!..it is waaaay kewl!!....I claim the Nicholas family as my family!!...they so willingly share their expertise and knowledge...there are big poster sized pictures of Fayard and Harold (from different movie performances, etc.) all around the studio walls...it's such a peaceful and positive learning environment...
Thank you *Turner Classic Movies,* for curatng and sharing this magnificanent history, and keeping these amazingly talented artists in the public consciousness. 🥰 These men are truly remarkable! 🤯
I am a member of The Eddie Cantor Society , and have a DVD when your father/ grandfather appears talking about his, and Harold's appearence in movies with Eddie Cantor!
The Nicholas Brothers were ... and still are ... fabulous. They brighten any film they appear in. TCM often plays a wonderful 1936 short, "The Black Network", released when Fayard was 22 and Harold was 15. Despite their youth, they were already a professional and polished pair of entertainers. Ironically, their contributions were often detached from the rest of the rest of the films they appeared in so that their sequences could be cut out in the South. The end effect was to make their sequences stand out, especially in an otherwise lackluster film. Undeniably unique and supremely talented performers!
They are the best !! And no one will EVER top them I love watching them as their talent will never be equaled, THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ENJOUMENT YOU TWO HAVE GIVEN ME.
Thank you so much for sharing this video about two truly amazing dancers. Some of their moves are totally jaw-dropping. I am so glad to learn that the Nicholas Brothers legacy is being carried on by the Nicholas Sisters and their dance studio. Well done!
Great presentation! Happy the ladies are keeping the family dance tradition alive! They're so very articulate, personable, and beautiful! Appreciate that they included a historical along with the family perspective. And glad they got to perform with their dad and uncle!
They were the most amazing , athletic dancers of all time. I’ve never seen anyone else who can compare . I had never seen the clip from Down Argentine Way…thanks for including that .
I loved seeing them dance in "The Pirate", alongside Gene Kelly. What a show! I still have yet to see them in another film. They were super talented dancers. It seemed that even Gene, with all his talents and athleticism, needed to keep up with them. Not many performers can upstage the star. It is so nice to hear that their legacy continues.
@@fhr331 Indeed! If my memory serves me correctly, Gene and Judy fought tirelessly against the studio to include them in this film. Gene was very impressed by the brothers skills. Kelley's dance in the town square with all the extras and all the use of props, and especially the carousel, has to be a highlight of this film, for me anyways.

My favorite dancers of all time....they were a class act!!!
There needs to be a movie made about the famous duo. Such amazing talent!

Shocking and should be restored. What a talented and totally amazing gift to humanity this family is!
Oh, I see the restoration perhaps did pop the sequences to stand out on the film!! Nothing like reading through.
WOW! So glad to see Fayard Nicholas' son and granddaughters carrying on his and Harold Nicholas' legacy of fantastically incredible dancing.

They were tremendous performers! It's so nice to see their granddaughters following in their footsteps, or should I say, dance steps. 🙂
The brothers would be so proud of you two for doing a wonderful job narrating this video. It was very informative, loved it.
They were so phenomenal that I wish that there was footage of their performances when they made their debut at the Cotton Club.
Greatest dancers that ever lived
Always love watching them dance!

Even more impressive when you consider that it was Kelley's choreography.
