I'm loving all your videos. Exactly the info that I've been after as I haven't printed since school. I am getting the Japanese starter set and wanted one extra fine tool to supplement. Do you definitely recommend a U tool over V for detailed outlining? I'm doing an intricate Indian wedding elephant design with the couple's name etc.
Thanks Salma! Glad you like the videos. The difference isn't huge between them. The U will give you a more regular, even width line and the V will have more varied width. I've always preferred the U myself.
@@Linocutboy Brilliant! I have just submitted my order. I can't wait to start. You make everything look so easy. I will be transferring my design onto the lino this weekend. 🤪
Thank you this is really helpful, I have a set of Pfeil tools but I didn't understand what the numbers corresponded too and now I know ! I also think there are some in my set that I won't use. I would be interested on your thoughts about the Speedball Speedy carve.
I don't know the brand. They come in a blue box which says woodcarving tools, 5 pcs. There is some text in Japanese too. You can get them in a few places in the UK including handprinted.co.uk I'm not sure about other countries. Hope that helps!
@@flash_flood_area I ended up getting it from Jackson's for 'bout half the price listed on amazon. I really hated the speedball cutters since they un-screwed while working

Thanks Amy! I've not tried the speedy carve. I suspect it's too stretchy for me! But I think it might be good for stamping.
What brand is the Japanese set?

This is 200 in amazon
Please don't buy from amazon. It's not necessary.
