Congrats on checking that off your bucket list. You’re living my dream.
Super jealous of the CNC. Great setup.
I had to smile when I saw the clamps get cut. I've had so many of those moments on my smaller CNC that its nice to know I'm not the only one!
It's really awesome to see how effortlessly you mix and match installing your new CNC machine.
Thank you for posting this video. I'm buying the Avid CNC Pro 4896 next month after doing tons of research on buying a cnc machine on the internet, so your video is a Godsend for newbie's like me. I'm very grateful and you are much appreciated.
This was seriously fun to watch! Love your process and videos. Can't wait for the next one!
Would absolutely love to see how you did your Vacuum table work-holding system. Looking forward to that video very much.
A CNC like this is a freakin dream! I'm hoping to be building one of these one day on my channel!
Man, that thing is a beast! Can't wait to see what you make with it!
That’s impressive piece of kit. The quality is there to see.
God bless you guys who actually do the videoing of the build process. I’m the type to be more inclined to just build any project than worry about videoing/editing & posting! 😂 I’m in the process of building my second woodworking shop. We just moved to a 10 acre place on a mountain. So I’m dividing a 36’x40’ 4-car garage in half and adding an additional 10’x20’ room off the back. About 920 sq ft of shop when I’m finished. Where’s my video camera? Not! Good luck with your CNC! LOOKS FABULOUS!
Great job. Thanks for showing all the set up. I appreciate it. Keep up the hard work.
Congratulations man! Very jealous.
Can't wait to see what you do with it!
Congrats on the machine! I’m jealous! Nice video pace for assembly. I would definitely refer to this video
What an amazingly beautiful assembly process.
Awesome machine and super excited to see more videos of it. I love both CNC production videos and also the assembly/maintenance/upgrade videos.
Thanks Matt!
Love these CNC machines, the vacuum hold looks interesting
Not really. Vacuum hold is only okay for sign work.
Give me T Slots or give me DEATH !
Great video! Thank you. I'm wanting to get into CNC for a potential retirement gig down the road. I love your setup!!!
Can’t wait to see the vacuum hold down system.
Same! I think it's worth half the cost of the actual CNC
Now that is one hell of a CNC machine! Not in my wood working future but I can't wait to see what you make with it....👍
Vacuum tables on CNC machines make a huge difference compared to a regular hold down table. Also calipers instead of a tape measure makes measuring and squaring stuff up on a CNC is a must.
@stephen matsler yeah i too really had a hard time switching my mind from woodworking (rules, squares, saw and chisels) to machining (calipers, feeds and speeds) ... quite a leap of faith ☺
This. As a CNC machinist I can confirm
Literally started watching your videos today, and you're the most skilled human being i've ever seen
Seriously.
So jealous, this thing is epic!
Nice video man! Keep it up!
Pretty impressive CNC, dude! 😃
Congrats!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
It’s a Beast. Looking forward to seeing your future updates
Huge fan of the AVID! hoping to get my hands on a similar setup in the future.
Super impressive machine, can't wait to see your products...
blows my mind how amazing this is
Congrats on the new machine.
Perfect.Thank you for this video ❤️
That a great looking CNC Router.
Soooooo jealous! Congrats!
Seeing a woodworker squaring a CNC with a measuring tape. I got the chills.
What's the correct way
@@Z-add calipers
Great video! Your timing coming out with this video is perfect. I just received my 5x10 Avid CNC Pro in boxes but still have a couple weeks yet until I can start the build process. I'm really interested to see more on your vacuum work holding system.
How much did that kit run you?
@@MrIsaacpr7 Just over 14k
Could you do a video of a arts list in everything you had to buy from avid to get this machine up and running
This is really interesting video! I might get CNC someday!
Very easy subscribe with this level of content, really detailed footage of how it works and is put together, thank you
Very impressive machine. This was a fun one to watch. Congrats man!
I’m super pumped to put it to use! Thanks
Excellent video preperation..
Awesome video. Your shop looks so nice.
such a good video. thank you!!!!
Great product and great video!
Classic first cut!
Just in time! I'll be watching these videos closely, my Avid should be shipping next month!
Excellent! Thanks
Love it keep going 👍
wow I like your videos, looking forward to next
What a masterpiece
WOW man i wish i have just a shop like this.. i will sleep there all days ^^
This is an interesting way to setup the geometry of the machine. How about a caliper instead of a measuring tape? For trimming the spindle you usually use a dial gauge.
wow this is awesome
Great job 👍
Love this! Proper!
Muito bom parabéns 👏👏👏
I want to build this in my high school shop class. This will be a great build and better then spending 20k to buy the one they are trying to sellme.
Wow, thank you for this video!
No problem!
Thanks for replying on Grabcad! Now I see this vid I remembering it. But didn’t know it belongs to you! 👍🏻
If you made a drinking game, where you took a shot every time he said the word “Gantry”... you’d be died before the end of this video.
Just don't drink every time he does an annoying laugh while talking. ;)
Died
pro level is the same game but on 2x speed
Dammmm That is a monster.
Great job. Top
What a gorgeous cnc. The red color seems to be your favourite and I do have to say that the red color really matches with you man . What a great video. Now I am going forward to build this cnc machine in the future thanks to your tutorial
Q: You use a gear rack for movement - Not anti backlash leading screw - how do you deal with the backlash in CNC ?
Nice CNC & shop. Big $$$$
When it ran through the clamp I was LMAO as I have hit my share of screws I use to hold my pieces down.
Impressive
@11:43 that's called the full depth spindle test. Luckily you ran through the plastic parts of those clamps haha.
Just spent the last week troubleshooting electronic malfunctions on my 20+ year old machine.
This looks like a good next step -Avid. Good tip with the locktite. Is it possible to rotate the controller
90 degrees so that you can see the ports?
About 13 weeks and I will have my 5x10. Looking forward to it.
I have the exact same config coming in a few months. Just ordered. Guessing August. The waiting sucksssss.
This is a very high quality kit. Attention to detail is top notch. The only thing I did not like was the cut in half Y axis. I think at this quality level the owners would not mind the extra shipping cost of the longer rails.
This really huge 😂😍
Nice video man. Interested in one of these machines myself. How much space do you feel you need around the CNC to be able to work with it and load sheet goods on it comfortably?
He beet those clamps like a red headed step child.
So nice
Dang Johnny. You’re going to need a bigger shop! Congrats
lmao how you massacred the claws
Hey Johnny I just purchased your River resin bed frame plans, looking forward to the build. I’m also very curious how your workflows will performe with this new CNC, Avid looks like the biggest bang for the dollar, but with the vacuum, still a good chunk money.
13:10 clamps got some shaving
Subscribed for your correct pronunciation of the letter Z......and the great vid.
Thank you for the time you put into this video. I've been reviewing options for when I purchase an AVID CNC and I notice with your vacuum holding system that you can't install a vertical table, or I don't see how you can.
Have you thought of installing a vertical table or do you have other tools for that operation? Can you install the vacuum system on the other end of the table so you could put in a vertical table and/or a rotary axis?
Sorry about your clamp but that had me dying 😂
Poor Clamps died a violent death!...thanks for the video, based upon my space, i am in the process of deciding what size table i want to buy.
Mad jelly.
Super!!!
well, at least you know those are sharp when new.
Based out of the Metro Detroit area there are 2 places that supply "Rexroth Bosch Group"--their "Aluminum Structural Framing System". Here macho robotics are precisely fabricated in the auto industry using "T"-Slotted Aluminum extrusions. There are an easy 100 companies producing this stuff. I went on line to their site for a few projects. Asked for their one inch thick book catalog, and got a flash drive with the same but also including CAD for everything they have(most people don't have the storage space to download this anyway). Everything can be loaded to SolidWorks enabling anyone to attain exact measurements and all components to make any CNC bridge or gantry milling solutions. Their website will direct to your most conveniently located supply shop that cuts, and packs anything u can dream up.
Would you think a common cordless drill, like the Milwaukee M12 drill, will be sufficient for your cordless ratchet?
Lego for big kids, excellent video.
The Plane Boss.. The Plane!
... and I’ll be killing more orange clamps in the next video, so make sure to subscribe 🤣
Keep up the good work. 👍
What’s the total cost and power requirements? Does the dust collection seem undersized for the CNC?
Damn, I want a CNC soooooo badly, but I don't have room for the size I want and couldn't afford to pay for it if I did. Mabey one day I'll have to try to find a spot for a smaller one..... that would be nice 😊 It's really cool to see you getting one and I'm looking forward to how you've set up your vacuum hold down system which looks really good. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
What size of CNC router do you think is suitable?
Thought the same thing when building mine, why are the connections on the bottom of the control box.
How much did you pay for this machine again??
AVID out to kick all the Inventables X-Carves out of content creators' channels. Haha. Nice upgrade!
Who else have you noticed?
Bruce A. Ulrich Izzy Swan and Modustrial Maker are the two that jump to mind, but there’s been a couple more that I e seen that I can’t remember off hand.
I’m not knocking it, by any stretch. I’m glad these folks are getting cool gear and showing what can be done. Gives ideas and inspires.
Also Darbin has an avid CNC
I’m still going to have my X-Carve, actually the X-Carve Pro! Inventables is great and I plan to continue to use both so I can give folks my thoughts on both machines.
Crafted Workshop That’s awesome! It’s just funny to see waves of new tools make their way around the ‘verse. There’s almost an archeological aspect to it. There’s distinct eras and epoch of crafting/making/building you notice, whether it’s a tool that folks start using or a version of a jig that everyone starts making or something similar.
Either way, love the channel and your builds. Some of my very favorites, and I greatly look forward to seeing what you do with the Avid!
Nice job , im building 2 CNC they will be copy of Avid CNC
Now that's a CNC router .
awsome machine, can i ask how much u spend on it? and is there a guide to build it?
first think of cnc work preparing are the clips in the csene...
You have spec/details on that spindle? Are you running it on single phase 220 or you have 3 phases?
