Would love to have TT inGrand Tours where they are forced to ride with their usual normal bike, I don't get it why they don't do that. It would be the real strongest cyclist comming upfront, do a 50+km TT on your bike you rode the day before on a hilly stage, wouldn't that be great ? Wouldn't it be great to see Thomas De Gendt and such riders be the favorites ? Why that TT bike only ? Its riding against the clock, riding BIKES (its cycling) against the clock, not with machines/specialistst against the clock. I really don't understand why they don't consider it. All stages its about tactics+ legs, normal bike individual ride would be the greatest thing in a grand tour, not TT bike, doesn't suit so much riders that have good legs and can't show it in that discipline, its a different discipline where alot are descrimited to be able to show their form and power.

Why would they do eliminate TT from the tours and mess with a good thing? The Giro has 3 TT for 70 KM and 18 other days with many of them without much happening. They might as well eliminate 75 percent of the sprinters’ days. TT separates the men from the boys. It’s part of a balanced tour that already favors massively mountain goats who sit in the wheel of better riders.

@@raijingodsasuke7985 yes, I do think the same about him. It's unreasonable to think that someone who is best at week long races with lots of elevation is also the best at one day racing that is relatively flat.
It would reasonable to think that the world elite is within 1-2% and based on the requirements of the particular race (flat -> absolute power, lots of elevation gain -> power per weight) one or the other athlete would come out as a winner.
For Pogacar to win both he'd have to be significantly better than the rest of the elite.
In Germany you get tested relatively frequently and the reaction to a positive doping test ist national shaming. Lots and lots of riders from Germany turn pro but we haven't seen anybody competing for GC in decades. Yet two people from Slovenia, a country with a population of 2 million people, has two riders at the very top.
Just looking at it from a mathematical point of view it's highly unlikely.
The thing I want to say lastly:
It's not that I don't want to see Pogacar or Evenepoel to win, it's the the suffering of the clean athletes that makes me angry.
If you are in this sport clean, you have to train so hard, be so professional, but without drugs your regeneration just can't keep up with the stress you put yourself through.
If you try to train like someone who's using for example EPO your body will break down, because fatigue and injuries just drain you. And yet despite everything you do you won't reach the top.
And for those athletes that work beyond their breaking point, but never get to stand on top of the podium that's why dopers need to be called out.
Pushing (close to) 8w/kg for 20min simply isn't something I can believe is possible.
I believe somebody else should be standing on the top of the podium.
