@@tjo3410Actually the commenter is not wrong. The US has fallen 8 places, since last year, on the world happiness report. First time we've ever been out of the top 20. This is mostly driven by a large drop in the wellbeing of Americans under 30.
My baby sister would blast this album as loud as she could. The older ones just shook our heads and made fun of it...while still dancing along.
This is exactly right! I had to go to their concert to take my friend’s little sister and we were simultaneously cracking up at all these little girls freaking out for the boys all the while bopping to the music.

I just turned 50 and am going to see New Kids in Toronto in August - with Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. This is one of their best - and the video for The Right Stuff is just as fun. Dare you to watch it next ;)

My friend went last world tour about 10 years ago and she paid extra to go backstage, meet them and get a pic. It's so crazy how people still love them. The probably could never have imagined the fame and love would last this long! I wonder if when we are all in our 80s we'll still be going to NKOTB concerts hahaha.

8:14 Yes Donnie Wahlberg is in this group. Mark was also part of New Kids back in the beginning. I believe that they came out before Vanilla Ice. NKOTB is 80s and Ice is 90s. They were always treated as a “boy band” and if you liked them you got teased but I didn’t care. Their new music is pretty good. “Boys in the Band” is fun. They take you through history of boy bands with it. “Bring Back the Time” they mimic other 80s music videos. Two of their old songs that are a bit on the softer side is “Tonight” and “This One’s For The Children”

Just got off off from working a 12 hour shift at the hospital and had so much fun listening to this reaction! This was my first concert! Sooooooo good! I danced along the entire time. lol
I am 49 and my sister, who was 2 years younger than me, played NKOTB endlessly and now I play it for my own listening and sing along with it all the time.
There's actually Marky Mark in this video 😁 For a brief moment, the guy with the green basketball 😉 And yes, the guy on the motorcycle is his older brother.
Marky Mark was the original 2nd member of NKOTB after Maurice Starr (who also put together New Edition) got Donnie to find some people to put together a group - but left before Jordan Knight and co joined.
Yes, that's the first time I noticed this!! (or maybe I knew this years ago). He's with the basketball with his older brother Donnie on the bike, he was just the kid brother at the time, haha. I used to love "bad boy" Donnie. This is probably Mark's first time he was ever in the spotlight, he was probably early teens.

Oh shiiiiiit this group was my first crush ever (donnie) and I STILL have one or two tapes from them from when I was a kid. I also remember having a birhgt pink lunchbox with them on it and a sleeping tshirt with them on it too 😂😂😂 💜 oh, and the donnie doll 😂 he had a frickin rat tail.
Everyone had a favorite, for some reason none of my friends were into Donnie, mostly Jordan and Joe, but my fave was always Donnie... he had the "rough" bad boy edge haha. It's funny, because when I look at the video now, he is still the cutest one to me. So my taste was pretty much already defined when I was 12, haha.
The manager behind new edition put them together. He wanted to recreate the popularity of NE for a white audience even though most would listen to both lol. Donnie wrote and produced Good Vibrations for his brother Mark, who was close to being one of the Kids.
Oh my gosh, I had to take my friend’s 12 yr old little sister to the new kids on the block concert ( I was maybe 20 or 21) and I never saw such a sight.. the number of little girls between 8-14 yrs old at this concert screaming and losing their shit was mind blowing. While it was not a concert that I was looking to go to and was kind of pushed to go, I ended having fun. My first boy band concert was New Edition.
hahaha I remember I went to the concert with a group of friends and we were all around 12, and my friend's dad came inside as a chaperone. He must've thought it was hilarious to be stuck among a bunch of singing and screaming little girls!! Funny story: I was not as into them as all my friends were at the time, it took me a little time to get there, haha. So during the concert, at one point I was doing something, looking in my bag or talking to someone, daydreaming, maybe looking at Donnie (my favorite) and Joe apparently sung to me and spoke to me and told me I was so pretty, and I missed the whole damn thing! hahaha. All my friends came running up to me screaming "omg!!!! Joe spoke to youuuuuu!! He said you were pretty!!!! Ahhhhh!!!" .... and in typical me fashion, I missed the whole thing, hahaha.
The Beatles were rock and roll, and Motown is Motown...lol but The New Kids are the first ones to actually be called a "Boy Band"

The term boy band was not established until the 1980s when Lou Pearlman decided to form a new singing group in the style of New Kids on the Block.
But one of the earliest all-male groups that achieved international fame as a "boy band" was the Ink Spots, formed in 1932.
I was going to mention the Ink Spots. I have never heard of them but when he asked what was the first boy band I did a Google search & that is what popped up. Now I have to find their music. Growing up in the 80's & 90's I always considered New Edition to be the first boy band.
Recently saw them live on the mixtape tour was amazing still. Never got to see them when i was a lil girl. Truly the most fun i had a concert for nostalgic purposes.
This song came out in 1990. I was in high school, and I remember how all the girls owned the cassette to the album. Music in the late 1980s to early 90s was amazing.

I'm still a huge New Kids fan. I've travelled from the UK a few times to go to their concerts in the US. They are such great guys. So much fun.
Oh wow, you and my friend in Australia are die hard, she is the same! haha. She paid to go backstage and meet them and get a photo with them last time, and I think they even had an after party that you could pay for, haha.

I still love them today! I have never missed a concert. Going to their concerts now is like you showed up to their house party and everyone in the audience are like friends who have always known each other. It is an intimate nostalgic event! Their guest performers have always been awesome!

Donnie Walberg is Mark's older brother. Donnie is the one on the motorcycle in this video. Mark is shown a few times in this video as a younger boy. One spot in this video, where Donnie is sitting on his motorcycle and smiling with young Mark next to him. So cute. ❤

Omg u just took me back ❤ to being a teenager. I got to go to their concert in Philly when I was like 14-15 came home swearing Joey was waving just to me in crowd 😂 too freaking funny! Saw them again think it was bout 5 yrs ago in Atlantic City with Salt & Peppa…. Naughty by Nature…..Tiffany….. and Debbie Gibson….. and gotta say NKOTB they were only ones who jumped down in crowd….. I actually got high five from Donnie (converted my ass right back to little teenager jumping around losing my mind) it was just an amazing show all together! I was about 12-13 when it came out and all my friends were crazy for NKOTB. About 10 years ago they did a world tour and my friend, almost 40, was STILL obsessed with them and paid extra to meet them backstage! haha. Those were the days, as you say there was also.... Boys II Men and New Edition.... BBD, Bobby B every little step, Luther Vandross, Jodeci, Whats the 411, You've got that viiibe, ooooh on the TLC tip! ... late 80s/early to mid 90s, those were the days, boy do I miss em, haha.

I didn't get into New Kids until last September or October when they came out with that Toy Story-themed promo for their upcoming summer tour. I was curious, so I started listening to "Step by step" first, and I was hooked. New Kids did a collab with New Edition in 2008 called "Full Service". It's a cool song.

I saw them last tour with Rick Astley Salt n Peppa and En Vogue. Was my first time 4 all 4 artits. All put on a great show.
I got to see them, ludicrous, salt n Pepa, and vanilla ice in the I Love the 90s tour. It was epic
I took my daughter (36) to see them on tour with En Vogue, Salt n Pepa, and Rick Astley last year. (I’m 57). That concert was lit.

Yep my younger sister loved the New Kids...or NKOTB. My I was listening to hard rock/metal, then shrew out of it quick and was listening to my music. Yes the New Kids were everywhere on everything, and the merchandising was insane. I don't know about the Swifie stuff, but I do remember about the New Kids hysteria.
