- I joined the Classical Shield Arena with the goal of trying to be among the top 10 classical players on Lichess. To do this, I have to play more games so I can lower my rating deviation (the margin of error in calculating rating). But when your games last this long, it's hard to do!

There was a famous game where the local rule was that if you touched a piece that did not have a legal move, you had to move your K, if possible. A situation arose where a player needed to move his K to f1 or f8, so that a combo he had planned would not be interruptible by his opponent's check. But making such a bizarre move by itself would be a giveaway that something was in the works, so he deliberately touched a piece he couldn't move, which forced him to move his K, which allowed the combo (which his opponent didn't spot) to work. I can't recall the game, but Agadmator's channel has it.
Is that a double-draw? Threefold repetition and 50 move rule being reached on the same move? Feels like Rosen trophy potential.
12:58 Eric once-again proves Black's dark squared bishop has camouflage.
Edible Vs eatable: edible = safe to eat, eatable = enjoyable to eat.
20:15 White is still winning after 1 g3 g4 2 Ke3. This was nonetheless a helpful endgame lesson for me
Great games! If you're willing to make a minor adjustment, 22:35 is a bit after the 2nd game begins; better time for the start of game 2 is about 21:19.
hand and brain with chat sounds like a fun idea if the logistics can get worked out. if i had the time to make a chat bot for it i totally would haha
This has happened already, make chat vote for a piece each turn
56:05 what about Bb6 attacking the queen and unleashing the rook?
29:37 20+7 seems to be the longest rapid time control
Speed run to 2000 hand in brain with chat
33:38 what about castling
First
Power move to show up but not make your first move!
congrats, you did it!
1:30:53 You know this position is a draw considering almost equal material, why carry on? You wear your eyes out man.
