Streaming still doesn’t beat Blu-ray quality. 1080p Blu-ray destroys 1080p streaming. Both platforms have their pros and cons but Blu-ray wins quality-wise for video and audio.
Plus, once you have the disc it isn't going anywhere (yes there _is_ data rot, but it's never happened to me or anyone I know). Granted I don't personally use Blu-Rays much. As I prefer just downloading videos, and using a local NAS to stream it to devices in network, as my setup really doesn't take advantage of the additional quality provided by Blu-Ray. But I do think that if there's a movie or series you really like it's _much_ better to get the disc. Especially with how often streaming services remove content. Personally, I don't care about 99 percent of videos on a single streaming service. No streaming service is actually worth the monthly cost to me. Nor is spending the money on a internet package to support 4k plus HDR and things like Dolby Atmos (don't forget many cable providers fuck you with data overages). To me Blu-Ray will always be in my home if for nothing else than archival storage.
Streaming is far more cost effective though. As a consumer, I'm not going to purchase every single movie I watch. It would be absurd. There's too many films & there's too many duds as well. 1080p streaming is good enough for what it does.
There used be a TV show from an educational channel called How It's Made. Me and my brother used to watch it alot. The stuff you're uploading is of similar content. The quality is also good enough and the narration is also classy. Good work! But you'll need to dish out more and more content so that potential subscribers take notice. The competition is insane. All the best.
If the rumors of 4K UHD discs being the final physical media is true, Blu-ray vs HD-DVD will be the last physical media format war for films/TV content.
8K Ultra HD Blu ray is possible according to Sony and Blu ray disc Association but probably be new type physical media to replace Blu ray disc like USB drive
Dolby Atmos was not an audio codec for HD-DVD thru to to its demise. Both formats used Dolby Digital AC-3 5.1-ch surround. Blu-ray also adopted DTS audio when Universal came on board. Eventually more channels, (6.1, 7.1, etc.) would be added to blu-ray specs.
You either forgot to mention (or chose not to mention) that multi-console titles always sold better on the 360 (and sometimes even the Wii) than it did on the PS3. Which showed a lot of people bought the PlayStation 3's just the world's cheapest Blu-ray player. And in 2010 it was the world's cheapest 3D Blu-ray just by downloading add-on data to make it a 3d blu ray player. That's what Sony realize they had they couldn't live on Blu-ray alone and had to make exclusives so like it around 2012 when Xbox was focusing around the Kinect, Sony invested in exclusives. Also this format war brought interesting repercussions to the fighting game Community because everyone in Japan shows the PS3 and everyone in the United States shows the 360 is there definitive version of Street Fighter that their arguments start about who is the real champ and what is the official version so Street Fighter 5 went up to highest bidder, Sony do drove there dump truck full of cash on Capcom's lawn and it was derided as an awful version of Street Fighter that it took many updates to fix until the very end when was finally balanced.

Not necessarily; Disney _was_ becoming bigger than ever before during the format war with their purchase of Pixar, but they were not quite as big as they are today. Marvel came in the year after the war, and Lucasfilm was to come only in a few more years. If anything, I'd argue it's Columbia Pictures that was more important during the war; the fact that Sony already owned them meant that they already have an inherent and reliable Blu-ray supporter, which is a big advantage for them.
Yeah, our favorite movies on streaming services come and go every time it happens and never see them again for a long time or ever again. With physical media, we, the consumers, own them. No movie company can take that away from us like they do on their own streaming platforms.
*I have a feeling if HD DVD won the war it would have had a better adoption rate. so many people still watching DVDs because they don't know what the heck Blu-ray is! whereas HD DVD says it all on the cover. I can't believe how many people are still watching DVDs on huge flatscreen TVs. I have a 75inch TV and watching anything in SD is horrible*
If it was built in to the 360, it might have been a bit different but not by much. Maybe we could have kept the failed disc format as a data storage option. 🤷🏻♀️

Video suggestion: Why the HD-VMD format failed
Another great suggestion 😎
Dolby Atmos was just a pie in the sky when these two formats were going head to head.
If Disney didn't support HD DVD why are Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles on there at 5:17?
They still made some, but didnt back it fully. Its the same thing COD did with Xbox 360 (making dlc release 1 month early)
Disney only supported Blu ray disc they where a Blu ray disc Association board member.

Why did HDDVD hold less capacity then Blu ray disc despite using same Blu laser.
