They USED to often be GREAT on this- as once we waited less than an hour, were put in first class, and given easily converted 1000$ worth of flight credits. But that was 30 years ago.
Soooooo true! I used to work for the Airlines and sometimes our Station's CRO(Complaint Resolution Officer)had to step aboard the Departing Aircraft and try to Buy the Passengers off with Travel Vouchers! Excellent portrayal Penn!
True but they also have a list that sorts out all passengers according to the fare they’ve paid. If no one volunteers to take a later flight then those who paid the least are simply taken off.
in 1991 i was delayed at heathrow for 6 hours, they gave us each a voucher for 20 pounds, but you had to use it all at once-you got a lot of food but looking at trays, you knew wo was on your flight-we all had heavily piled trays.
This same exact same happened to my parents they were going on to their honeymoon my mom had her misses not saying there last name t-shirt on when they got there they got there about an hour and a half before their flight when they were at the gate they were told that they had been kicked off their flight and would be able to go to Hawaii the next day my mom was in literal tears and this was in 2004 only 3 years after the attack of 9/11 my Dad tried to calm her down but there was really no stopping her they were about to get kicked out and my Mom finally calmed down they got a 6-day vacation in Hawaii instead of a 7-day trip to this day my mom will still not ride on American airlines because of this.😢
Keep in mind, that agent at the gate DID NOT have anything to do with that oversold flight. That directive came from the C-suite to keep the publicly traded stock price where it needs to be so that people who buy stock don't lose their investment. Seriously.
Or 7 hours. When you arrive 45 min before your flight and the cutoff is 45 min, but they say it’s too late for the luggage to be checked when you were in traffic near Denver and it couldn’t be helped… next day and 7 hours wait.
I did get a good travel voucher which I used to go to a wedding a few years back but the numeric code and having to only use the same airline for the voucher was a whole headache lol
They have a video about a bad experience they had at an airport. It was a few years ago and I don't remember the details of it but I thought it was a good video. Might go try to find it myself now...!
I found it really quickly by entering "airport" in their channel search bar. The video was 6 years ago and title is "Stuck in an airport for 3 days." Their kids play Penn and Kim worth watching!
True. And NEVER accept a travel voucher to compensate you if you are bumped or volunteer for next flight. Demand cash. The voucher will be hard to redeem and often will only apply to a full fare ticket.
I tried to pay for seat selection in advance when I realised we didn't have any, but the option was closed. Turns out if oversold, British Airways kick off people that haven't paid to select seats at the time of purchase 😮
Actually one time I had one of those tickets and they asked if I wanted a different flight to LA but LA was my layover and I wasn't sure if I could make my connection and so I asked and they had a direct flight a few hours later and it was a late night flight and almost no one was on it the I didn't travel again within the year it was so much better I was flying solo so it wasn't much of an issue and I actually arrived early I can't remember if it happened in 2003 or 2008 but it was before I owned a cellphone
I would be miserable working for an airline. While my actual employer does have to disappoint and upset some clients, it’s nothing like in air travel. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with how much gate agents have been able to help when I thought I was completely out of options and just asking nicely because it would keep me from screaming.
This was after the airline industry had a downturn, the union rules made them lay off all the younger ones first, and the recovery filled the planes again.
Honestly don't knock it. My family. A family of five can make a lot of money that way. If you don't mind waiting, and you have time on your hands. Do it. Some airports are nicer than others and you get to know the escalators really well. But overall I never got bored
"Enjoy...not the flight!" 😂😂😂😅
And you chose this one - so, that's on you 😂😂😂
Came here to say this 😂😂😂
Bahaha that “waterboarding” comment took me out 😂🤣 Hysterical, as usual, Holderness Fam. 😂🥰
Lol
And the alpha numeric code is "case sensitive"
And you can't tell the difference between the letter "O" and zeros. There are at least 10 of them in the code. Good luck!😂
@@LGalvin And if you get it wrong 3 times in a row they'll lock you out of the website for 24 hours
And you have to input it at least 3 times.
This is so funny, accurate, and creative! 😂
Thanks for watching!
🤣🤣hysterical because that 20$ food vouchers aren’t paying for nothing. At most it can get you a single m&m from a gift shop
Make some friends and you can pool your vouchers for a bag of Doritos!
I’ll come to and we can share a soda next time lol
They USED to often be GREAT on this- as once we waited less than an hour, were put in first class, and given easily converted 1000$ worth of flight credits. But that was 30 years ago.
I'm pretty sure in the U.S out have to be compensated up to 3x that value of your flight in cash.
“We know you have quite a few airlines to choose, but we all do the same bulls**t, so we’re glad you’re stuck with us!” FIFY
here, here, and aft😂😂
Hilarious! And a serious burn aimed at airlines. Love it!
“Same person who invented water boarding”🤣🤣🤣
Penn, you're a diamond!
Soooooo true! I used to work for the Airlines and sometimes our Station's CRO(Complaint Resolution Officer)had to step aboard the Departing Aircraft and try to Buy the Passengers off with Travel Vouchers! Excellent portrayal Penn!

OMG! Such honesty!😂😂😂
Where did you get the corded phone? 😆.
I got two words: Frontier Airlines 😂😂
Seriously that is the pain of every flight😭. Just expect it to be 1-2 hours late
Always plan for delays!!
Makes perfect sense: Arrive 1-2 hrs early and be delayed 2+ hours or cancelled after delay
😡
made me giggle such a fun clip you would make a great flight crew 😂
Brilliant as always 😂 thanks for the much needed laugh!
I have a feeling you guys have first hand experience with this
They do! See video titled "Stuck in an airport for 3 days." Enjoy!
@@leslie6938 lol
This makes me glad I can't afford to fly. I'll just stick to scooting around in my little car, lol.
Same!
$20 food credit but it’s 11pm and nothing is open. 😂
so friggin ACCURATE!! 🤣🥴💯🎯
Yes, Virginia, there is a truth on the internet.
Yup, that's quite accurate.
Not sure I remember seeing Penn in a tie before!
"and you chose this one, so that's on you." LOL!
If the dude got on the mic thing and said "Yeahhhh, we screwed up, that's on us." I'd happily get on another flight. 🤣
✨tRaVeL cReDiT✨
lol choose this and that’s on you lol
Im sorry but it’s in you!
This is probably how spirit is handling an overboarded plane 😂
Is this United Airlines? Just drag me off the plane!
It has to be American. I’ve never had a flight on American where they weren’t offering travel vouchers for people to take a different flight.
Somebody needs to put that out loud on an airport.😂😂😂
So true!
Brilliant. I'm getting on a plane tomorrow morning, and I can only thank the gods that I'm not in the last boarding group 😂
Penn, you are an inspiration to all of us neurospicy creatives. Now if I could just figure out your secrets for follow-through.
This same exact same happened to my parents they were going on to their honeymoon my mom had her misses not saying there last name t-shirt on when they got there they got there about an hour and a half before their flight when they were at the gate they were told that they had been kicked off their flight and would be able to go to Hawaii the next day my mom was in literal tears and this was in 2004 only 3 years after the attack of 9/11 my Dad tried to calm her down but there was really no stopping her they were about to get kicked out and my Mom finally calmed down they got a 6-day vacation in Hawaii instead of a 7-day trip to this day my mom will still not ride on American airlines because of this.😢
Penn, you are hysterical! I would fly on your airlines, just to have you say this to us!!
"...a webpage invented by the same person who invented waterboarding." Bwahahaha!!
Keep in mind, that agent at the gate DID NOT have anything to do with that oversold flight. That directive came from the C-suite to keep the publicly traded stock price where it needs to be so that people who buy stock don't lose their investment. Seriously.
This is one of my favorites ever! 😂
It's actually pretty stressful being booking flights and looking at seat maps and making travel arrangements. I used to be an agent
Or 7 hours. When you arrive 45 min before your flight and the cutoff is 45 min, but they say it’s too late for the luggage to be checked when you were in traffic near Denver and it couldn’t be helped… next day and 7 hours wait.
I would give this video 10 likes if I could! Love the energy, and with the jokes...PERFECT
😂🤣😅🤣😂 Perfect!
This is so painfully accurate
This guy is a great actor! 😂
I did get a good travel voucher which I used to go to a wedding a few years back but the numeric code and having to only use the same airline for the voucher was a whole headache lol
"That's on you" 😂😂
That was at the Spirit gate 😂😂😂
Alaska delayed flight & they oversold. Went BK. home on Spirit for 1st time. Airbus (not Boeing 737), flight on time & not oversold🤔
This is so relatable! Loved this video😂❤
Sadly this is so true
And for those of you who DO get on the flight. Please enjoy your airplane door and wheels falling off!
Oh my goodness! Soooo good!
This is so funny and true if you made a full video i would watch every second
They have a video about a bad experience they had at an airport. It was a few years ago and I don't remember the details of it but I thought it was a good video. Might go try to find it myself now...!

Wow, so very true!!!!!
Love this!!😂❤
“So that’s on you” 😂😂😂
I LOVE THIS FAMILY !
THE HOLDERNESS FAMILY !!!
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cough *spirit* cough *frontier* cough😂
😂 you do it again! Genius
Snort laughing on that one😅
True. And NEVER accept a travel voucher to compensate you if you are bumped or volunteer for next flight. Demand cash. The voucher will be hard to redeem and often will only apply to a full fare ticket.
Nailed it!!
So mostly accurate. 😂😂😂❤❤❤
I'm always the one kicked off the flight. Must be my face.
😂😂😂😂
I tried to pay for seat selection in advance when I realised we didn't have any, but the option was closed. Turns out if oversold, British Airways kick off people that haven't paid to select seats at the time of purchase 😮
The 24 digit code is so true... 😵💫
So sad funny and accurate!
Great way to wake up in the morning with this short. Everything he said is completely True and hilarious. Ugh the struggle is real

So on point
This is hilarious Penn.
Well done!!
Perfect!!!!😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Waterboarding
One bottle of water at the airport is like 10 dollars 💸
Someone finally said it!!
Well, it's good to be honest
😂😂😂so true
Hilarious 🎉🎉🎉 and true 😂
Baaaahahahhahaha. SO SO TRUE!
United held us over 5 hours on Dec 26, very late into the night- with NO POWER on the plane- NO AIR!
I would negotiate better seats before I give up my ticket.
This was after the airline industry had a downturn, the union rules made them lay off all the younger ones first, and the recovery filled the planes again.
I don’t fly, Hannibal.
Truth
And I’m chuckling over “aft” …
Which is a ReAL word
Only a 3 hour delay? Impressive!
Hilarious!!!
True story@
😂😂😂 to funny
Travel in 2024 😂😂😂
🛩And "You" Chose This One...😂 So That's on "You"...
So true
Honestly don't knock it. My family. A family of five can make a lot of money that way. If you don't mind waiting, and you have time on your hands. Do it. Some airports are nicer than others and you get to know the escalators really well. But overall I never got bored
It’s sad that flying has become not a reliable form of travel most times. I hope it gets better
United airlines in a nutshell
This!!!
