  • Repairing the intake manifold gaskets on a 1992-1992 LT1 Corvette or Camaro is not very complicated with a few simple tools and some knowledge. This video is a follow up to the Ozzstar's Cars detailed two part series on replacing the intake manifold gaskets on a C4 Corvette. Links to that video are posted below. Hey! Figured I'd come back and let you know that my intake manifold gaskets replacement went well! The car idles better, and the oil leak is gone, and in the process, I found a few hoses and lines that needed replacing, and the car is running better than it ever has!

That Right Stuff is awesome. Can't remember if I told you my Right Stuff story. I had sealed up the plenum on my '86 Grand Marquis with that stuff since I didn't have a gasket ... then I got busy and the car sat for a week while I did other jobs. When I finally fired it up, it was racing. I knew exactly what I did - forgot to install some critical vacuum lines underneath! Only way to hook these particular ones up was to remove the plenum again. Naturally! So I undo the bolts, and start pulling. I must've forgot another bolt because this thing wasn't budging 1mm! After 10 minutes of yanking the hell out of this thing, I went and got my cherry picker, wrapped the chain around the throttle body end, and started pumping the jack. I sh!t you not, it lifted the front wheels of that heavy Grand Marquis 6" off the ground before it finally broke free!! I was sold on that stuff after that! STRONG!! I only put a real thin coating - might have had 1/16" of a bead squished out the sides. Impressive!
I'll tell ya, I sure miss the days of GM engines where you could replace the lifters WITHOUT removing the heads! I hate the LS engine from a mechanic's standpoint. Great engine as far as making big power goes for cheap, but the engineering on that one SUCKS!! Anyway, thanks for sharing, and stay warm! We just got 6" of that white crap last night. I'm about done with this! 4 more weeks, I keep telling myself. FOUR MORE WEEKS, and the weather will start to change for the better. :)

$15 for a few ounces it should be 💪 Probably cost $1 to make. I dread the day when I have to remove anything put together with that stuff.
