Thank you. I've coached for a long time but never 3rd base until this year. This helps a lot.

I am a first year head travel ball coach and I am struggling to learn how to give signs! I either do too many motions or I struggle to know when to give the steal sign.

Hopefully the video helped! Keep it as simple as possible. At the younger ages you don’t have to be too picky on when to give the steal sign since most catchers won’t throw anyone out. As you get older, off-speed counts tend to work better but you’ll get the feel of it the more you do it. Stay aggressive!

I understand that this is regarding baseball but this would apply to softball as well… It’s a very informative video and very helpful my advice would just be to say “the batter” rather than “he”. Not trying to nitpick I coach three different softball teams and it seems like a lot of baseball vids are gender specific to boys only, but the softball videos usually say “this video is true for baseball as well” so they don’t turn away a huge portion of their potential audience.
