- Here is the most detailed comparison test between India's No.1 Electric Scooter 'Ola S1 Pro' with India top selling Scooter 'Honda Activa 6g' as we tested out the per km running cost of both scooters.
I have driven my scooter for 20000 km till date without any problem. I am proud of Indian brand ola thanks Bhavish Aggarwal, the great product ❤

A better comparison would be between Activa 6G 125 (Top model) vs OLA S1 for 10 years.
Ola (with battery replacement) = Rs. 2,55,875
Activa = Rs. 5,94,057
i.e. huge diff of Rs. 3,38,182
Below is the breakdown of the cost of ownership. I made below 2 assumptions
1. I am assuming the battery needs to replace after 5 years which is not true. The battery will easily last 10 years with reduced range.
2. Considered 100% avg. elect. price inflation i.e. Rs. 20/kWh for the highest slab for 10 years compared to the current rate (Rs. 10/kWh), whereas for petrol 70% price hike for 10 years (current is Rs. 106/ltr)
Ola S1:
On-road Cost Ola S1 in Nagpur = Rs 1,12,000
Average electricity cost for 10 years = Rs 20/kWh
Battery = 3 kWh
Cost per charge = 20 x 3 = Rs. 60
10 years average mileage of S1 = 85 KM/charge
Cost per KM = 60 % 85 = Rs. 0.7/km
Price per 25 KM = 25 x 0.7 = Rs 17.5
10 years cost of running = 17.5 x 365 x 10 = Rs. 63,875
10 year approx maintenance cost = 3000 x 10 = 30,000
Battery cost after 5 years = Rs. 50000 (Battery will literally last for 10+ years. )
Ownership cost = 1,12,000 + 63,875 + 30,000 + 50000 = Rs. 2,55,875
Activa 6G 125 Dlx - Fx(BS-VI) (nowhere near in terms of features & Performance to OLA):
On-road price in my city Nagpur = Rs. 1,02,807
Average estimated price of petrol for 10 years = Rs. 150
Average 10 years mileage = 30km/ltr.
Cost per KM = 150 % 30 = Rs 5/km
Daily running = 25KM
10 years cost of running = 5 x 25 x 365 x 10 = Rs. 4,56,250
10 year approx maintenance cost = 3500 x 10 = 35000
Ownership cost = 1,02,807 + 4,56,250 + 35,000 = Rs. 5,94,057

Riding comfort of Ola is incomparable, i also have an ntorq which is known for one of the best suspension. But when i switch from Ola to ntorq, ntorq's ride quality feels really bad. After riding ntorq for a few days, switching to Ola feels like heaven.
Well made honest comparative video which can be understood by payment.cost benefits were explained precisely.both audio and video quality was good.hats off.
OLA S1 Pro since Feb 2022 and driven approx 4.3k km. No scooters comes closer to this in terms of overall experience.
What about the following doubts?
1. Can you plan a journey to a go place beyond 90 km and come back in Ola? It seems in case of Activa, you can go anywhere with easy petrol availability .
2. After 5 years one may havd to pay Rs. 60k to replace battery for Ola. But Activa can go on and on.
3. Even If Ola is not run regularly , still battery quality may deteriorate. But in case of Activa , one may not have such problems.

Only downside of s1 I found is V stiff suspension.
But again with that top speed they cannot give soft suspension.

My daily run is 6 KM, cost wise I don’t see major benefits also one more thing to be noted, Activa resale value is too high, 10 years old activa can be sold at 20K. Having said that my next 2 wheeler will be an EV

Agree that , In terms of features and cost per km ola / Ev scooters are far better . But, let's take another scenario, let's assume 2 college students (120-140kg) on each vehicle. Want to see how ola/ any electric 2 wheeler will perform compared to scooters running on petrol. & what about comparing safety aspects.

Ola's battery warranty of 3years is somewhat underwhelming for a scooter priced above 1.10 lakhs. They should increase the warranty period for minimum of 5 years and also include brake pads in their coverage (which is damaged with minimum wear and tear).

Hello i have few questions:
1. In comparision if a person is going to drive it and sell it in 10000 kms then ola will be expensive, as the price gap is 50000 rs right?
2. Why did you select ola? Why not tvs or other brands electric scooter. As even if ola scooter is great but the service with ola provides does not gives confidence in ola as compared to activa.
3. What about the service honda partes can be found anywhere and reasonable price but ola with a fiver body ?
There is also sudden drop in range, lag in the touchscreen, after 20% battery it doesn't goes as the range is claimed. Also at eco mode with pillion, the scooter lacks performance. The braking system cut off the power to the motor which is sometimes dangerous in the uphills. Also they don't provide side footrest and double stand by default. Ola should iron out all these problems to make their scooters practical. Also, the lack of sufficient public chargers are also a cause of anxiety among the owners.
I thinks its good to go for Ola compared to any petrol vehicle.
A more fair comparison would be with the S1 Air & the Activa
S1 air wins. Because of minor difference with S1

Heating issue is to stop you over heat battery. You can ride in normal mode comfortable. But u have money u can go for vida Or ather

Also consider battery cost to be 50k current price and when u say 30kms average milage is wrong 40 is what was shown in video ... When you say 85kms/charge even battery decays over years and within 5 yrs you might get 50kms /charge so in that case calculate 50kms/charge when you do for ola it's best range and Activa is over 10 yrs mileage is not a good calculation

Ola is a good innovation. I personally love it but I feel pity on those S1 Pro buyers who are yet to receive all the software features which were promised on the launch date. Overall okay and those who are buying now are actually lucky as there is a lot of improvement.

Took ola to mussoorie with pillion several times... No issues faced ! Even in July there were no heating issues... Climed easily on normal mode.

Main problem is for people who live in big society , its difficult to make a charging point, one has to take so many permissions and deal with so many problems, kids or anyone can remove the charger at night, morning when you come to check it wont be charged ! so Activa is a better choice for us
