+mmarcuse How did you record this? A friend of mine and I tried to make an induction recording of this, and we couldn't find a good place to get a strong signal. Our test recordings were all very soft. Great job!!
+ResortTV1 They played it in the hallway with the space windows for awhile (where the picture for the video is above) and I nabbed it there. The next time I went it wasn't played in that area anymore.
There is simply no greater thing than to be an imaginative 12 year old kid in the early eighties, spending a day at the Magic Kingdom; Many years had passed, I am old, married, with a couple of kids now, lots of experiences good and bad in my life, but.... I don't think anything will ever surpass that experience.
Thanks to those who recorded and shared! I remember hearing this as a child and it has stuck with me my whole life. Strange how certain music & moments can have such a lasting impact.
Wow! It's funny how the brain works. I haven't been on this ride since I was ten 16 years ago and the music takes me right back to the excitement I had as a kid. Thank you for uploading
I always thought that since the first tunnel is like a viewport (because you can see all the stars you’re far away) you hear a ton of the shooting stars noise from seeing all the rockets launching from far away. As you get closer to load you are getting closer to the control room and only hearing the rocket launches from that specific port, until you get to load and can hear no launches at all, just the control room noises.
One of my all time favorites. Was just there in person a few weeks ago for our annual August trip. I almost hate having a fastpass because it means hearing the music for a shorter amount of time.
Please do everything you can to keep this track on here forever! This is what got me into Ambient sounds, and to be honest, I looked forward to this part of the queue of Space mountain ever since I was old enough to ride.
As someone who grew up with Disney since I was no more than 2, I have adored this ride, its atmosphere, and the beauty of its OST. Never change Classic Disney, never change
The 90s we all forgot and God forgot. What a different time we were all in looking forwards to what was next. Then like a switch everyone turned on a cold shoulder and put on their angry eyes.
Welcome space travelers. Space mountain is a thrilling high-speed turbulent rollercoaster type ride with sharp turns, sudden drops, and stops. Before you embark on your adventure, please place all hats, glasses, and any loose possessions in the storage pouch directly in front of you. To prepare for launch, pull the lap bar toward you. You are now ready for your intergalactic adventure, Thank you and have a great flight.
I miss this from space mountain and all the planets and ships you could see in the windows . I don't like what they did to it today :( I never minded waiting in for the ride back then, today I just want the wait over .
I know this is a REALLY LATE reply but I wanted to share that if you haven't been back on it recently, they did take out the ageing video game portions of the queue and use the monitors for really cool screens that show destination places, weather of the planets, etc. Its so much better now and you can really hear this music prominently again :-)
@@matthewwilfong6001 thanks, I haven't been to WDW since 2009. I was going to go about two years ago but after talking with friends they said its overcrowded and most rides had 1hr to 3-hour wait times :/ paying about 100 a day to ride maybe 6 or so rides isn't worth it
I definitely remember this. I like that you can preview the ride from those windows. Of course if someone has never been on it before they might start to get nervous about it.
Funny enough, you actually can’t anymore; the Disneyland version covered up the windows a fair bit ago and the WDW version has never had windows, just a model of a ride vehicle spinning in one of the viewports.
I wish this loop was longer! I love playing loops of ride queue music when I'm reading or relaxing, and it can be rather jarring when I'm in a sort of trance, and suddenly the music cuts out! xD Nevertheless, this is really fantastic, and I thank you for uploading it!
I remember getting drunk and throwing up in the same walkway area third tunnel ambient. I dropped my turkey leg as a result of extreme vomiting and shart myself to cap the night. So worth it.
In the summer of 2010 this was briefly played in the People mover part of space mountain, which replaced the star tunnel music after the 2009 refurb, before it was left silent like it is today. You can hear it in this video: ruclips.net/video/GJQjNkVerMw/видео.html
RUclips Algorithm told me i needed to listen to this again. Been a while since i have... It is hands down my most favorite sound from the Disney World park, and they have SOO many good places in the park to hear things. This tunnel, the smell, the feel of being in there, just walking through the gates at the ride... Being a kid in the 90's and early 2000's... i will never ever forget the chills and feels of being down the Tunnel. The music is something i cherish and only wish other variations were created by other artists of this "ambient music".
When I first went on this ride, as soon as I heard this music I thought the ride was gonna be scary. I was thinking aliens would pop out of nowhere when I was little.
Anyone know if the end tunnel music is on RUclips anywhere? You're walking along and looking at scenes from other planets after the ride while you head toward the gift shop. I'm thinking this might also be the music for it as well, but I'm not sure.
That 70s/80s futuristic dream... that is nostalgia purely at its finest! *NEVER CHANGE TOMORROWLAND*
*70's
@@wantedwario2621 this soundtrack was added in 1985.
It sounds an awful lot like a post barret era pink floyd synth experiment
yup, definitely written in the 80s, i hear yamaha DX series FM synthesis in this... great stuff
It reminds me of Blade Runner
It's not taken from the control room, it was recorded with an induction mic. I know this because I'm the one who recorded it. :)

+ResortTV1 It was at arm's reach and obviously worked, so I'd say yes?
+mmarcuse Thank you :D I love this music and love the feeling everytime I enter space mountain.
This was always my favorite music from waiting in line at Space Mountain. I love that trippy cosmic ambient vibe
Me too!
Who doesn't

Bernardo Rosado awesome. Same here... that was the best.
Couldn't agree more!!!
Lol...old
If I ever went into space, this would the soundtrack that played 24/7
Love hearing this before approaching the loading area...builds up the anticipation.
Does this bring back nostalgia for anyone else?
Hell yeah!
Yep, love this music, so beautiful and primal in a way makes me think of organisms evolving in the early beginnings of time earth and the universe...
Yes when I was 3 and I haven't been back to Disney in forever hope to go back in the future
Waves man. Waves.
Usually, I hate standing in such long lines, but this music made it X100 better, I love this music.
That noise you hear when you are about to embark on the most legendary Arrow coaster ever.
And of all time in my opinion.
I didn't know Arrow made this ride
@@JSGirl09able They did! The Space Mountain in Florida is based on the Matterhorn.
I’d like to add that Arrow made the Space Mountain in Florida, while Vekoma built the one in Anaheim, CA
This was built by Imagineering. Arrow only build Big Thunder and Matterhorn in the Disney parks
Thanks to those who recorded and shared! I remember hearing this as a child and it has stuck with me my whole life. Strange how certain music & moments can have such a lasting impact.
Just got back from Disney and got to enjoy the music "live" at the ride. Nothing like it!

Man I wish I was there right now listening to this. I miss Disney so much it hurts even just thinking about the place.
And now you are 32
Man, to a kid, when the hopeful sounding entrance music gives way to this, it's so intimidating. I love it.
how the living hell did i get from snowboarding edits to this?
The magic of yoooouuuuuu ttyuuubbeee
Really bad recommendation system.
I would love to hear this in a fancy science museum.
I love how they incorporated the shooting star sound from the last section into this song lol

listening to this a lot during this awful quarantine for the coronavirus :/ just want to go to disney again
Was just there last month. Always look forward to hearing this music in its actual location!
Never, ever, get tired of listening to this. Always puts me in a good mood!
Probably one of the longest line queues in WDW. That and Flight of passage. You certainly can get your steps in on those walks.

They are changing though… wait until Space Mountain becomes a Buzz Lightyear ride

Yes but sadly it tends to be droned out by the shouting and screaming of the clientele that Walt Disney World attracts these days.
