I’m really glad that you recorded the before aircraft weight along with the engine’s weight when removed. It’ll be very interesting to compare with the installed weight of the Viking 130 and its engine weight too.

This was an outstanding start. Please make a video just like it in reverse with the Viking engine you replaced it with. Please calculate the specific fuel consumption for t your Viking engines at 75% power like other engine manufacturers do.

I'm excited to see another Cruzer with a Viking 130 . Just needs a VIP to complete the perfect combination 🍒🍒🍒

Hi Dave, I posted a comment on this video asking if Jan had experience with registering Cruzers above the 1,440lbs design weight. He mentioned he thought you had done this. Can you provide some insight? What weight did you register at? Did you make any structural mods to compensate for the added load? Did you derate the G-limits? Did Zenith have any recommendations?
I've got the same questions out to zenith but haven't heard back yet.
      Thanks!

Can't wait to see the new weight. Have you had any experience with guys trying to rate their airplanes over the 1440lbs design limit set by zenith? I've heard of it being done. Just curious if you knew more about that process.

Hey Matt, as the builder you are the manufacturer of the kit and can rate it as you would like. Dave T who just did the 48 states has his rated at 1650 I believe. However, he has the power and thrust with our engine to stay safe and climb out etc.

@@eggenfellner I knew it was builders discretion. I just wasn't sure if Zenith advised against it. I had heard they just recommend dropping the g-limit to +4/-2 or so. Good to know Dave T did his to 1650. Thanks for the info!

Looking forward to more on the conversion but Curious what all was removed for the “oil” weight? I know the sump only holds 6 quarts and at 2lbs. per quart that’s only 12 lbs?

What do you need to do if anything with the paperwork for a fly off period or dar inspection?
