I bought the amiga mini a couple of weeks ago, and I'm looking forward to the full size version too. I hope it'll be able to function like the original, but with a faster cpu emulation (if not not emulated) and more ram as an option. I hope they add leander and risky woods (especially) to this upcoming console, and at least 1 floppy drive. I'd like 2 (1 external), but that's just me lol. it would be good if new floppies (of old games and new) started selling cheaply and like crazy, but I'm guessing that's a tall order. Edit: the first samurai is another game I'd like for it.
Well done for getting this up so swiftly. I hope it doesn't break Pandory, as I've been getting more in to that mod. Still can't get Speccy working but I have added Atari 7800. My download didn't include the Atari directory. It's great Retro Games are getting busy. Now let's get the Amiga maxi up and running. I'm keen to learn how it's shaping up. Even if I don't purchase.
All the other Mods work including AGS and Aminimiga on the new update. Its definitley made a big difference with performance and graphical issues with certain games that ran fast before, its worth putting the update on if no one has done it yet.
Nice one Crazy for checking out what's new! A few I will check later for A500 speed, and if you fancy a nose... Ikari Warriors, Buggy Boy and Star Wars (Atari Arcade). Cheers!
Hi Crazy, finally had a good look. It's a bit of a mixed bag with some early WHDLoad A500 games, Ikari Warriors felt slow then speeds up and glitches at the bridge, Buggy Boy not bad at all, Star Wars looks ok until you go in the trench and then it runs like an A1200 and is fast.. Something I have noticed with the whdload side is that emulation is now more comparable to when the machine first launched so mostly good and better than 1.1.1, Built-in ATR is running smoother now. Personally I think the emulation runs best if you keep the Blitter set to "WAIT" but turn CPU JIT "OFF". You should feel games like Lotus 2 or Pinball Fantasies CD32 feel way more responsive and smoother, closer to how they play on a real A1200. Under Display, I use the middle option... "State to the Art" .adf demo still has slowdown sadly, but overall I'm happy as the Amiga mini for games is a lot closer to what it was when it first launched, so good again! 😉👍
Tested tonight with new firmware. Just so you know: You CAN hot plug and play joypads WITHOUT the system freezing, and my clone PS4 joypad was recognised no bother. Unfortunately, the firmware on the USB has deleted my WHDLoad package. Luckily, I keep the roms separate from that directory. I didn't test any games for speed improvements. Still no Speccy working mind you. I think it's best to use the Amiga mini joystick as the button mapping is sensible and simplified especially for 8 bit and 16 bit retro consoles. As for Speccy, I might get another Pi. Keep up the good work!
You should try the game speed issue with Space Harrier, that made Barbarian 2 look like it was running slow. Also thumbs up for Barbarian 2's awesome box art
Wow I’m surprised the update didn’t break pandory or any other mods. I wonder if the update has fixed any of the games that struggled e.g lionheart, Jim power or fire and ice?
Great video dude. Any idea if any of the newer Amiga titles from like 2022, 2023 etc, are available on the A500 mini ? If so any idea where to find them ? Cheers
Another error I'm having I'm afraid. Not for the first time😊😊 Backing out the menu is not working for me using the Amiga mini gamepad. It was working before, but not now. Frustrating software. I might have to load up the old version. Unless it something I've changed, I couldn't back out. They've switched the buttons but last time I tried it was working. Maybe when I tried another gamepad to test it, it messed up. I'll reload Pandory again. As I've said before ,this ain't a perfect solution. Anybody having issues?
@@CrazyBurger been trying to set up an Amiga emulator for over an hour. Pretty over it. With the mini can I just put games on a USB drive and play them?
Awesome. I'm still looking forward to the Full Size version being released. Good Times Are Ahead.

Knowing retro games it would be plagued with issues though, they have been terrible with patches and updates for this mini console.

Nice one, thanks for that mate.
Merry Christmas mate
Had Time Bandit on my Atari ST. Such a great game!
Nice.. yeah I was quite enjoying it. Better than a few already on the carousel.
AWESOME!!! Like night and day, and such an amazing bonus game! 😮
That Skelton loading screen, gets me every time LAMO😂😂😂😂😂

Yay, Operation Wolf is playable now!
Thanks for confirming that Pandory 500 still works with this update. 😁😁

I quess Pandory V2 won't work on this 1.2.1 firmware? I tried and it only gives that Amiga starting screen with floppy image.
Honestly not sure, I've not tried it yet..
So Pandory V2 isn't working?
Never tried Pandory before but it looks like a nice clean interface… Might have to try it out as a Christmas project.
It's pretty good, might be an updated version out there too.
Great video dude. Any idea if any of the newer Amiga titles from like 2022, 2023 etc, are available on the A500 mini ? If so any idea where to find them ? Cheers
What games are you referring to? Most new titles should work on the mini.
@@CrazyBurger I just can't seem to find titles from say 2022, 2023 on whdload or in lha format. Maybe it's just me
@@darranparker3930 you can just use adf files though. Admittedly not as quick as whdload.
@@CrazyBurger ah ok thanks, and do you just load them onto a USB like you would from whdload? I've never tried anything that wasn't on whdload website

Looks like Pandory 2 does not work with this update. Not for me anyway! Hopefully there will be a Pandory 3 soon!
Really nice system this
I am abit bummed by Jim Power..maybe that is fixed as well? Also the glitching in Lionheart and Aladdin.. 😕
I've only check a couple of games, impossible to do them all
@@CrazyBurger yes of course. I got around to check them my self now. Still buggy am afraid.
Is this thing worth buying in 2024? I know it was a mess when it released.

@@kghhgkgk6322 pretty much. I've done videos on how to set up. Its relatively easy. Though you may have to adjust settings per game.
This update broke dungeon master
Pls check first samurai
