Loved your review and gameplay. Puzzle bobble is my favorite game too. I still enjoy Space Invaders but have a hard time seeing my spaceship on Invaders 91 as you mentioned. I will have to play more of the other titles.
Good stuff. That’s a tough set of games to rank! Always happy to see a new convert to Growl. One of my top three beat ‘em ups ever! You should find out how to play Legend of Kage though. It’s way simpler than you think and a really good game!
Hey brother! Much love from 🇨🇦. Do you think Blaze will ever release these systems' games as carts? I have the Taito one but sure would be nice to have these on my VS
Hey mate! It's always possible. I don't think it's a closed door case. If they sell well enough, maybe it'll make way to allow a cart release. That would be brilliant.. especially Taito.
I actually kind of like Volified. It has that “one more go” effect on me. Do wish some of the games had infinite continues as even with save states I’ll probably never get round to seeing the whole game in many cases. Overall great set of games, just a shame it isn’t available on cart for VS.
Sad to see my beloved Kiki Kaikai so low on the list, but your logic makes sense as far as it being a poor fit for such a small screen. Great video as usual!
I mostly agree with your assessments mates except I do like the odd few sheets of Space Invaders. For me it's just nice to have the proper version of Rastan, it's never been that great but the home 8 bit versions were really bad imo. My awards for hidden gems status are Football Champ, Water Kids and Growl. I never heard pf any of those before and they all surprised me pleasantly. Ah well next few weeks I'm a mouse only gamer, Civ 6 is it then.
You have to enter all the red doors in Elevator Action to finish the level. Also, you can shoot the lights out to double your points while they are off
Volfied would tempt me a lot, if I didn't already have Qix (GB) on 3DS VC and Switch Arcade Archives. That Cadash boss is obvs. black pudding, or so it says on the screen... never had any myself.
I love my little taito machine but I am deeply disappointed that Cathedral is not working on it. The cartridge with alwas awakening and cathedral is one of my favourites and i was looking forward to playing them. 😢
I got both super pockets from argos and the capcom edition works great, unfortunately the screen on the taito had a bright patch in the bottom left corner so will get a replacement tomorrow, i got the gaelco arcade 1 cart which was Amazing until Thunder Hoop wouldn't load,do evercade carts often have issues or am i just unlucky 😅😂
Mmm.. there's definitely issues no doubt. But generally it's a low percentage. Most likely unlucky. Reach out to support@evercade.co.uk for a new cart.
Thunder Hoop wouldn't load for me either, and now won't work on any of my evercade machines. Did you happen to switch off the machine during the - very long - loading screen?
mine also got stuck in a loading loop the first time i used it but then the screen flashed and it went back to the games select menu, after that the screen would flash when selecting the game and nothing more, i put it down to a bad batch of carts, The replacement was damaged on arrival 😂
Yes, Chack´n Pop is an early single screen game that doesn´t have a lot to offer anymore. It´s mostly interesting because it´s a predecessor to Bubble Bobble, but the gameplay isn´t very captivating. And Kiki Kai Kai shouldn´t be played on such a small screen, the best case scenario would have been if they had the license for SNES Pocky & Rocky instead. I am pretty fond of Legend of Kage (Second pronunciation was perfect!) though. I like the high jumps, feels like being in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon! I think the levels are about killing enough enemies. It´s a game with a style of it´s own, and I appreciate that!
For me the taito edition is the better one, I had a great time with most of these games, Cadash is my number one, I can't remember the last time I spent so much time playing a platformer

Great review. Rastan (Saga) needs to be top 5 for the music alone; some of the best arcade music ever!

I just received the VS and EXP, and I'll order the Taito just for the menu background music.

Yeah not being able to continue is s bummer... as is no official cart. Maybe one day.
Volfied just takes me back to qix on gameboy and spider on windows 3.11. LOVE those area control games.

Ah apologies. Seems like a good game but just not on this small device. Thanks mate 👍
So many of these games are great with two players. Such a shame they are locked on a one-player only machine.
I know. Its such a missed opportunity.

Ah I see.. damn.. thanks for the tips.
You didn't show us The Fairyland Story. That was a timeless classic right there.
Out off all the the super pockets which is your fave for the inbuilt games
Definitely Taito!

Lol I never even noticed.. gladly never had any black pudding either..
Would eversd cartridge work on super pocket?
Woah. My guy. Volfied is amazing! haha
Overall I am about right there with you tho, rating wise. I would swap Volfied for the soccer game up top. Other than that... Same here.
I love my little taito machine but I am deeply disappointed that Cathedral is not working on it.

Don't worry, they are working on a fix. It'll be updated at some point in the coming weeks.
@@CrazyBurger that's nice and good to hear.
Don't wanna see a repeat of splatterhouse on the vs...
@@biikuajet ha yeah.. thats a different issue. Silly if you ask me.. but that's Namco for you.
@@CrazyBurger indeed.
At this rate there's going to be Taito vs Capcom mini pocket war
Lol yep.. joined by others next year probably

@@CrazyBurger What is going on? You´re saving the girl, obviously! It´s an arcade game Lol

I was going to get the capcom one but these seem better games. I also think they missed a trick with the capcom, why now yellow buttons?!

Definitely I agree, certainly seems better value.
How can this not have chase HQ in the collection
@@HorneJamesHorne79 dunno. I would've liked Rainbow Islands

Me too.
Bit of a miss there..
No Growl in the list

The capcom collection looks better
Sorry, but you are finished. Here.
