    Both are scams and they're trying to take your money.

    Man. I rarely write any compliment but I think your channel is very very very good. You explain most of the essentials without wasting too much time so it's really good to jumpstart on everything crypto. Your impermanent loss calculator is very helpful too. Please continue the good work. If I happen to get rich from crypto, I will definitely donate to your channel :)

    This is an excellent explanation which I had to watch several times to fully grasp. One thing occurs to me is that in the Advanced calculator it would be more accurate for "Token A New Value" to read "Token A new POOL value", and the same for Token B, as I think it is confusing the way it is. The same seems to apply further up for "Token A value". For further clarity, "Price" should read "Price per token", "Token A Price Change should read "Token A % Price Change".

    Great video, just one question, if you are providing liquidity ex. Eth-dai and eth price go up (for example eth slowly continue going up) what do we have to do? Do we have to add liquidity on dai to still match them 50/50.

  • @PeterBlanchard
    @PeterBlanchard 2 года назад +1

    This is a great video, and also a great tool on your site, thank you! I have one question about impermanent loss . . . around 5:40 you state that if token values revert to where they were when you created LP tokens, you will have zero impermanent loss. My question is, what happens if I create LP tokens over time at different prices? For example, I create 100 LP tokens when prices are Token A = $1 and Token B = $100. Then later I create 100 more LP tokens when Token A = $1 and Token B = $200. Can I then achieve zero Impermanent Loss if I cash out when Token B = $150? Or do each of the LP tokens I created have their own "break-even," so I would need to cash out specific LP tokens when prices were close to when I created those specific LP tokens?
    Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!

  • @kevingasik4704
    @kevingasik4704 2 года назад +16

    Looks great however this doesn't take into account the fees you generate. So although you show the loss you don't show the LP tokens you would generate by providing liquidity. I love the visualization here but I feel like you need to add an APY addition to this. Thoughts? I can go more in detail if needed.

    • @kevingasik4704
      @kevingasik4704 2 года назад +1

      Subnote: This is a great visualization tool on why certain coins have different APY rates for when providing liquidity.

    • @withoutatrace52
      @withoutatrace52 2 года назад +3

      Second this. Almost perfect. Just needs to include an APY calculation to help estimate if your rewards cancel out or outweigh the IL%.

    • @aaronsmith2929
      @aaronsmith2929 2 года назад +3

      Yes, I’m finding you don’t start to benefit from non stable LP’s unless you are in it for the long haul... whereas the APY accrued over a year+ would greatly improve your chances to negate any impermanent loss.

    This is basically impermanent lose for v2 liquidity pools. There everything has to be 50% to 50%. With v3-farms we have different percentages and ranges to deal with, right? Is there also a tool you recommend or are you planing on building one on your own? Love and Light

    What apr/time is needed to offset x% IL? Seeing as most LPs incentives people to provide liquidity by offering a return on the amount they provide.

    • @theuniversalbox
      @theuniversalbox 2 года назад

      There's no universal answer to this tbh... In my opinion, the best way to track your IL is to keep a good old spreadsheet and log your LP values (base and interest) once a day

    So when ethereum price doubled, but you had -5% Impermanent Loss... that is a loss on the gain? not a loss on investment? So you would be up 95% right? Im slowly getting this - but i've been trying to understand liquidity pools for days and my brain is fried.

  • @adan5511
    @adan5511 2 года назад

    I have an idea for a super advanced tab: same as advance but you can add the apr or apy that the pool offer, and an option to add months days and year that we stay on the pool, That way we would know exactly how many fees we are taking, I know it's not that simple but, Taht will be 1 tool on the whole crypto space I think, that will create a lot of traffic on your page
