Love that both teams acknowledged each other the way they did. Madcatter didn't even look disappointed, a good fight and great sportsmanship
That's how it should be, and why I love BB. Riptide does not represent the sport as a whole.
The sportsmanship in BB is some of the best I have ever seen in a competitive sport. One bot could be in literal pieces and the team behind it will be cheering and celebrating with the wining team, and then exchange pieces of the bots and trophies and help each other repair
I'm from Brazil and it's like that here too, robots destroy each other but teams help each other! I love this competitive spirit! Here the fights are with smaller categories but the joy is the same!
@@HellOnWheel Yeah, I've seen some sore losers before but Riptide were the perfect example of the worst kind of winner. Sure would be nice to see someone stick it to them.
Most of these teams know each other from the NHRL championships, so when they go on the big stage, they are usually friendly and very supportive. Many teams even help other teams when they are struggling, lack a piece of hardware they need, need help fixing the robot and other things.
Of course there are exceptions (like the already mentioned Riptide). But in general there's no bad blood between them and they are all friends.
I'm impressed how long that minibot survived. It seemed like it actually took one or two good hits before it got sandwiched to oblivion.
I don't think mini bots should get into the fight until afterwards, they should hold back until they have a very opportunistic chance of making a difference. They are almost as good as nothing unless both main bots have battled it out and are weak.
And was actually useful in maintaining the pin against the upper deck for a bit longer too. It usually seems like mini-bots just exist for the crowd reaction of them getting wrecked.
So funny watching that mini bot going in wanting to help and just getting deleted. XD

Appreciate how each squad recognized one another in that manner. Madcatter seemed far from disheartened, showcasing a commendable battle and admirable camaraderie
This was a proper fast paced fight between two teams with great sportsmanship, their bots Black Dragon and Madcatter put on a great show.

I was 7 years old when I was exposed to robot wars, and now I'm 31 years old. I am completely nostalgic and happy on how these competitions are still going strong.

This was one of the better fights in the modern series, quite possibly top 20! As a Black Dragon enthusiast obviously I enjoyed the ending too

But in all seriousness, amazing fight, and I am super stoked for s8; I wanna go see it live and hopefully these teams as well! I am just super into the energy they bring, and they're both perfect sports about wins and losses.
We need to combine these bots. Add Madcatters armour with Black Dragons weapon. Name: Black Catter.

Love this fight, two of the most aggressive drivers in the event piloting scrappy verts in a brawl going right to the clock. Mad Catter losing their weapon and minibot decided this in Black Dragon's favor, but this would've easily been the best match in the bracket if Whiplash vs Black Dragon didn't follow straight after.

Black Dragon was an underdog favorite of mine since I saw the fight where it fought most of a match on fire. I'll always root for them even if they don't always win.

Why are the hammer and other things on the sides so useless. They seem to be just for show. Make them more punishing!
