All I have right now is a bulky Bakcfire Ranger X1 whjich is really for big rides for me. I do have a question though. Are those standard skateboard cloud wheels I can get in any skate shop? Or are they modified to fit around a motorized truck?
Damn, Small world!! I think you might be able to get them at a skate shop, they looked pretty standard to me. However, if you're going to get this board then they include those wheels with the box.
@@JoshMedlin Thanks man. Yeah Im looking for a smaller, lighter, more everyday use type of e-skateboard than my Ranger. The only thing stopping me is the price. I understand this is a carbon fiber board though which is what makes it cost that much. So Im looking at this, the other Miles mini board, the TeamGee mini, and the boosted Mini. Im looking to make a final decision around black friday maybe.
I'm only 5'10", so that might be an issue. I touched on this in the review but at first I felt sort weird with the stance but I got used to I by the time I had to send it back
It real depends on what you like. I’m 6’5” and I can ride a 30in board no problem. That being side with with feet in those notches I’m not sure how much your losing but I’m sure you get used to it and that concave is going to give you a good locked in feel like a Lacroix.
The great thing about the Phantom is that it offers the longitudinal stability of a longboard with your feet braced against the steps of board (the foot securely situates itself ahead of the rear truck) when accelerating quickly and the shorter wheelbase should mean a better turning radius. In all, this board ought to fill an empty space in the e-board market.
I've now had The Phantom for a bit over 4 months. it in fact does have a mini tail, which I've used to kickturn out of fakie to regular after going up and down a quarter pipe. you can also use it to kick your board up off the ground like a regular skateboard. the deck shape would look odd if it were any longer a tail, plus it would be heavier, and would cost more per deck for the company. they found a sweet spot with this mini tail, and the board rips btw 👍
It looks WAY too short. Why wouldn’t they build it LONGER? If I’m going to go 30 mph on a skateboard I would feel more comfortable with a longer board don’t you agree?
also, it's the perfect size, even for high speeds. no other board will let you feel so locked in as the Phantom with it's perfect ergonomic front and back humps 😎👌
I used a GPS speed reader just to test out how fast it really goes and it definitely doesn't hit 30 mph I reach 26 and the remote was reading 29 mph 😳 meepo nls pro is faster
hm. well I got it to hit 35 on the remote going downhill, and have hit 31 on the remote on flat. so even if off by 3, that's plenty fast. but hopefully they do update their remotes to be more accurate.
