- The Crows still have a pulse after Taylor Walker booted a Showdown-equalling record of seven goals in a vintage performance to upset Port Adelaide by 47 points at Adelaide Oval, taking their season off life support in the sweetest possible fashion in front of 50,023 fans on Saturday night.
After dropping three games in a row - and four out of five following the mid-season bye - Adelaide remains in the finals hunt after leading from start to finish to level the Showdown ledger at 27 wins apiece with the 16.16 (112) to 9.11 (65) victory.

That was an epic win. Crows were everywhere, contested everything, Excellent coaching and execution by the players. Their ball movement was elite. Tex Walker is having a season - his 7 goals put him only 6 behind Curnow on the Coleman (and Crows still have WCE). Their backs were outstanding. Worrell, Milera, Hinge, Keane, Nankervis, Smith, Michalanney. Keane the Irishmen only played 6 AFL games, 1st for Adelaide, Nank only his 2nd game. They've lost defenders during the season, lost Butts during the game, and they stood up. It's crazy to think what could have been if they won those gettable games during the year. If they can win away from home, they'll be a force.
Yeah the difference between the elite is consistency and experience. Next couple years should be good for the crows. Would be nice to see tex play a final before retirement

They have quite a dream home run too, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Sydney, and West Coast, at least 3 out 4 of those are winnable.

Don't you love a feel-good story. The Irishmen Mark Keane, had only played 5 games for Collingwood, leaves AFL 2022, comes back to Adelaide. Has a shaky few minutes to the game, and then has 7 intercept possessions, 5 of them marks. His dad and girlfriend fly here from Ireland to watch him play 😭😭😭😭Matt Crouch, been out of the side for a while, and ends up being one of the highest ranked players for the game 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Man Adelaide are by far the best side outside the top 8. They're better than some top 8 sides. They could easily be on 12-13 wins if not for a few losses to collingwood and melbourne, Will be really disappointed if they don't scrape into the 8 because for me when they're on, They're the best team in the comp to watch
they need to learn how to win outside of Adelaide

Very disappointed in Port. Crows just wanted it and we couldn't stop them.
crows are on/off when they turn it on at home, only umpires decisions/indecisions can beat them, no team better(we showed we are better than the umpire loved collingwood twice). Just not as consistent as port was this year. Also we need to kick straighter some games.

Arguably Port's worst performance of the year. I know it's been a round of upsets but apart from Butters and Rozee, the rest of the team didn't look like they wanted to be out there. Our defence in particular is sorely lacking.
I just think you guys were tired from that insane game against the Pies last week. You guys will still some damage in the finals

Great job Crows. They absolutely deserve to win, Port Adelaide simply has some massive work to do, I don’t fancy their chances against Geelong at Kardinia Park this weekend, if Port loses and Brisbane defeats Fremantle, Port Adelaide may get jumped.

There is a real reality Port could finish 4th and face Collingwood week 1. But that is still a winnable game.
A special team building , if we sneak into the 8 we will go close to winning the flag ,, shame we choked and threw away 5games this year and a couple of close games , a season of what could have been .. We are a top 4 side

Well what can I say the crows without a good amount of players out injured got the job done if only we beat Melb a essendon a few weeks ago we would be in the top 8 beating the PEARS makes up for that now one game at a time a see what happens that was a greatwin for the club and its supporters
What happened this Round? First, Fremantle take down Geelong, then GWS successfully claw their way back from a 35-point second-quarter defecit and stun the Dogs, then Gold Coast torch Brisbane, and now the Crows swoop on the Power.
I’ve all my tip’s wrong this week what’s going on all the teams that are lower on the ladder are winning I thought the higher teams on the ladder would win
Perhaps those higher teams are starting to think that a position in finals is a given for them and that they don't need to work as hard to get there. It could also be because they don't want to overwork their players and end up with too many key injuries during finals. So they're trying to savour some of their energy.
Just my speculation though. Not to be taken as gospel 😅

Port are the worst at putting the opposition off when kicking for goal , you watch Richmond their are the best at putting player off , port do nothing great coaching Ken.
What I learnt from Port’s loss
Port love to talk a big game but when push comes to shove they capitulate
Dixon shouldn’t be playing on one leg
Their ladder position doesn’t truely represent the ladder
They desperately need a big bodied defender
They won’t experience ultimate success until they strengthen their mental prowess
Port desperately need another ruckman
Port has no depth, SANFL team’s pathetic performance clearly demonstrates
Port’s forward line is inconsistent and shambolic
All the teams ahead of Port: Collingwood, Brisbane, Melbourne, Carlton, GWS and Geelong.
Port won’t win a final as they have far too many deficiencies to compete
This is now a pattern of behaviour
Another wasted year, hopefully they can miraculously convince Grundy and Ratugolea to come over although they don’t possess anything to trade for.
There is enough evidence to strongly indicate they will lose next week and all of the following games are 50/50 games, they might not experience another win for the year
Port’s team simply isn’t good enough to compete against the best or a team that is hungrier

With all due respect, I don't think any team has a chance against Collingwood for the flag this year. Regardless of ladder positioning.
@@sarahcorbo3659 Collingwood will probably make the grand final but there's more than an insignificant chance that it might all fall over for them either before then or on the day. This highlight video itself is a good reminder that underdogs can't be underestimated.

This wasnt an upset, having a pathetic coach like Hinkley who knows playing a second game ruck your giving the opposition 1st use of the ball every time. Just like last week took off Lycett and we lost center clearance 6 goals to 3!

No one at Port wanted to play for Hinckley on Saturday playing a second game ruckman who clearly in his first game was z grade and you give him another game, your destroying his confidence , you may say Ken his did a fine job considering but no one believes it anymore, he was way out of his depth!!! Way out, with so many other playing their heart out, its your actual tackling pressure on the ball and around it.
Lycett is not the best ruckman in the afl he not even in the top 10 but hes clearly the best at Port then Hayes and Dixon. Hoping to get Brodie Grundy is suicide your team wont play for you when they learn what hes been paid.
Why did you drag him last week why did you take him off against Hawthorn when he needed confidence, dont give us this garbage he been managed looked after
I said after Port lost to the Pies that they would most likely lose 4 games in a row. It could actually be 7 in a row. After the Cats next week (at Geelong) then play Giants, Freo & Tigers, all 50/50
Based on...? The top 3 sides in the comp have all lost this round, and Port came off an incredibly bruising and difficult game against the Pies last week.
@@DV-zv4ox I think people are reading into it too much, Port and Pies played an absolute bruiser, then had to come up against their respective biggest rival, who are always going to be up and about for a rivalry game. I know Port have lost 3 in a row, but they played a white hot Carlton, top of the ladder Pies and their cross town rivals back to back to back. Now they have to go to Geelong and play Geelong on their home deck, Freo proved it's possible, but hard to do, if Freo and GWS can pull it off, you know 2nd will have the capability.
