I don't buy it, you shouldn't fire a coach in the middle of a season I don't care if it's after a win. It's a bad look, it has to make the next guy think "is this how they'll do me?"
First YT site for sports I go to. Great job, Josh!
Coach O has had a good run. He has lots of money and has gone through lots of personal issues. I hope he takes this as an opportunity to take time off and get right. He’s 60 and rich!
Would be a blast on tv though if he decides he wants to still be in the game.
How would coach o be great on tv? Can barely understand a word he says
Local TV maybe?
What are you talking about? Are you just admiring the fact he’s rich?
@@fleyedd1479 just saying that with his level of wealth.. it’s not a big deal to do nothing.
URBAN MEYER THINKIN: IT'S A LOT OF PROSPECTS IN LOUISIANA .. ON THE FOOTBALL FIELD .. AND AT MARDI GRAS ..
Yes, let’s hire Urban while we still deal with title IX allegations. Then again, if it’s the same PR team that handled the Wade situation….I don’t figure they mind too much about urban.
Sarcasm aside, I’d love to see what Urban would do.
😂🤷♂️
Crazy thing is I believe he’d actually think this lol 😂
I remember a couple years some LSU fans were disappointed with Les Miles and were discussing how they thought Jon Gruden was the guy they should go after. I thought they were crazy. Why would Gruden ever take a coaching at LSU instead of going back to the NFL. Well… good news Tiger fans!
It's not good news, Gruden can never coach again
@@MultiKool13 Bullshit, if he wants to coach someone will hire him. This is Let's Go Brandon country.
@@mikeschmidt4800 guarantee you he never coaches at a major program again
@@mikeschmidt4800 no one will touch him now after what happened at the college and NFL level.
Ed Orgeron is not a good head coach but rather a good defensive line coach. 2019 they caught lightning in a bottle and he had a good staff to cover up his flaws.
He also kept the players morale up he made sure that they were calling the right plays in 2019 I believe that age is the problem
Wasn’t lightning bud. So everyone that wins a natty except for bama I guess, catches lightning in a bottle? LSU has more nattys than clemson, Ohio state, OU, UGA, Texas and Auburn since 2000. So everyone catches lightning? Orgeron put that team and staff together and it worked, it also worked since he took over in 2016. He isn’t a good head coach at all, an good not great line coach and a great recruiter, but it wasn’t lightning in a bottle. They had some luck that year and beat the hell out of the two in the CFP. Sometimes it works for others than bama.
He did a great job as an interim coach at USC. Didn't get the head coaching job he wanted badly. He lost his passion and focus fame got to him at LSU
This is why I love this show. As an LSU fan this is spot on. We have the players and financial backing to do it, we just need a head coach to root a culture of competitiveness. I’ve been looking at the potential rumors with great hope that LSU will be a top 10 team once again in 2-3 years. Here’s to hoping for a good run next season.
Orgeron simply maxed out his talents at LSU! As a fan, I appreciate the 2019 natty, but as a coach, he's simply plateaued. We (LSU) needs to bring in someone who can consistently maintain a successful college football program rather than trying to recreate the 2019 glory days.
Well said! I feel the same way.
Deion sanders would make a huge splash at LSU he is a hall of Famer the greatest corner of all time and knows the x’and o’s and has head coaching experience
You dont go from HBCU to LSU. Thats why Napier isnt a higher name. You dont go Sun Belt to LSU.
Deion Sanders? PLEASE What has he ever done in coaching?
James Franklin is not going to leave Penn State. That would be a lateral move. Same goes for any other coach (current head coaches) at top tier programs
I don't think he is leaving Penn State either but it would not be a lateral move. LSU has more elite talent in state and has won big much more than Penn State.
Franklin has good gig n safety at PS, he won’t win a National championship. But why would he move into the cesspool of SEC football ? Win a title n get fired next year !
Franklin could recruit at a higher level at LSU and put himself in the championship convo every year. Penn State is at 275 score in recruit rankings. That's a bad year at LSU and its his best at Penn State.
LSU has won like three national championships since penn state won one
@@Swerve-Online yes sir but he's still not gonna leave
Good work Josh! I think Florida needs to consider letting Mullen go.
Disagree. We’d end up like FSU
Maybe but you've got to admit we're a train wreck now. He's had plenty of time
@@KRG30001 Mullen gotta go. Bad recruiter and has made the wrong decision for qb1 too many times. Fire Mullen, hire Hugh freeze.
@@royfairchild6895
It's not like Mullen had blow out losses. Every loss Mullen had (one to Joe Burrow) could've gone either way and won by a field goal or UF lost due to a late 4th quarter interceptions this season. Take a deep breath. Give it two more years and if UF is still repeating their defensive struggles with the same DC and zero new recruits on defense, then get rid of all of them. Haste makes waste. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

2018 was a good yr coached by ed, you can hate him, give him his credit for what he do
You mean give him credit for what those players and assistants did. Orgeron has been mediocre every other place he’s been. He does not promote a healthy culture where he has the position of head coach.
At least he got to coach one of the strongest teams of all time.
As the only major program in Louisiana they do have the pick of the litter for local kids. I’d offer it is the best job in CFB for recruiting advantage.
LSU is not one of the best college football jobs in America, It’s the top FOOTBALL job in America!
Yes it’s been said since week one they made the decision to let Ed O go, if you think about it it was the right decision when your the face of the LSU program you have a image to hold up and Ed embarrassed himself and the school. He believed he ego is bigger and better then the school its self and now he knows its not. All he had to do is stay humble and hungry not post pictures of him ( 60 year old man ) and a 20 year old college girl, or put down the coaches that work for him when he himself doesn’t know anything about X’s and O’s. Yes he won a title one title but your not on Saban level so don’t act like it by putting your foot in your mouth and knowing you can’t back it up and as a father of 20’s year old daughters I’m glad his creepy old *** is fired and will no longer be the face of the beloved Tigers Country!!
Sound like us at FSU. Won title and 3 years later one of the worst team in fsu history
Right on the money
Go after Joe Brady first, Check for Dave Aranda. if you can get Josh McDaniels that would be crazy, but a Jim Caldwell, a Eric Bieniemy, A Raheem Morris, wouldn't be horrible either, if the nfl won't give these black coaches an opportunity LSU should, i don't think LSU is a terribly difficult recruiting transition place for nfl guys because its LSU. i would go for an offensive guy if i were them, just doesn't seem like an LSU thing to do.
Joe Brady is an NFL guy, he hates recruiting.
Joe Brady hates recruiting.
Brady isn't coming back to college. Evwn if he did, nobody knows if he would even be a decent head coach.
@@lawv804 lets say its worse case scenario though, lets say, Jimbo and Mario stay at texas A&M and Oregon, and there's no real reason to leave those jobs other than a lopsided unsustainable contract on top of a rediculous buyout, lets be honest. Urban stays in Jacksonville. Who you taking? Matt Campbell? is Aranda the hire? Mel Tucker is a risky hire. who do they go with?
@@tvtda1 The names I keep hearing are Lane Kiffin, Bill OBrien, Luke Fickel, James Franklin, and Mel Tucker. But now I hear the university president wants to cement his legacy by making a diversity hire, so that leaves Tucker or Franklin. Frankin is expected to go USC if he leaves Penn, so that leaves Tucker. Last time we hired a Mich St coach it worked out very well. It's going to suck waiting until the off season to find out.
I remember a couple of years ago the media talking about lsu had towin it all that year cause coach O had sold the future for that year. Can't remember how, not sure if it was Grey shirts or notm
I got a name. Luke Fickell. If you can turn a G5 school to the #2 team
(even if it just because of upsets)
Imagine what he can do with a powerhouse program
Yes...If I was LSU he would be high on the list. Tennessee somewhat pursued him but he wasn't interested, he might be for the LSU job though. I think it had to do with possible sanctions at Tennessee.
I’ve said amongst my Cornhusker co-workers, if it’s not at a minimum Luke Fickell, we’re setting the program back 2 recruiting classes I.e. minimum 8 years by telling Oeaux to geaux
If we’re not careful with the Nick Saban Syndrome every school has these days, we could easily wind up in the depths of football hell for decades…see Nebraska, Texas, USC etc All different scenarios at each school but, same principles as to why they are where they are.
As a LSU fan I wouldn't mind if Cristobal, or Napier ended up being the new head coach.
If Ed is such a toxic presence then the sooner he goes the better.
I wouldn't have thought that but it seems it soured quickly after national title...and those were players recruited under head coach Les Miles.
@@topmech71 no, les miles was fired mid season 2016 and he never recruited like ed did
@@topmech71
Ed did a lot of recruiting as a defensive coach and personally recruited Joe.
I think he caught lighting in a bottle with the players he had and his coordinators he had in 2019
So can he come to Bama and help with our defense. I'm sure he is way better then Pete Golden.
He’s just not Head Coach material…just not. ☹️
About time!
I hope bama doesn’t lose anymore their fans are acting out again smh

Oh.... good job, Josh!
Who’s gonna replace him? There’s only three coaches LSU could want and they have jobs.
Odd that both jobs he used to occupy or does occupy are both open at the same time
Red rover red rover send Ed on over to us at the U!!!🙏
Let's offer nick Saban 12 million a year to come back to where it all started for him. LSU!!!!
It started at Michigan State with Sabin. He jumped to LSU when he couldn’t compete with Michigan for recruits in B1G insane as it sounds. Particularly with Michigan calls MSU little brother… Sabin for started in Midwest. Can’t forget Toledo his first HC job. I will say his greatest work not in titles but in bringing MSU up to respectability in B1G was difficult with the monster Atm Michigan was going 34-24 was a major accomplishment in turning program around when he left mark datonio took it to another level. Sabin traveled to LSU to escape the monster known as Michigan. He built a power house in Baton Rouge gaining LSU a national title before taking flight to the nfl Dolphins found out he didn’t have total control in Davie, FL he soon jumped ship once again. Side note remember belichick at Cleveland Sabin was his defensive coordinator. That’s how he hit the Toledo job. Alabama and Sabin were a natural fit after a few years of struggles and recruiting cycles something strange happened Alabama started resembling Wallace wades program once again. A devestating efficient power house on the rise. Bryant has the noteriery but Wade is one who built the programs legacy from Beginning snd Sabin has raised that bar a notch higher.somewhere both Wallace and bear are smiling down on sweet Lou. Georgia may be ranked one but does anyone think they can score 35 points against Alabama it will take that many points to beat the rising tide! Tide has lost three games in three years each by three points and Texas am was lowest scoring game of them.
Look for Scott Frost to get dump but not until these stupid cob heads give him a extended contract..
Man I hope Florida hire him as a Coordinator please God
I expected/ predicted this, last year at about this time. I was scolded repeatedly by a host of blind fans that were aghast at my rudeness. How dare 'ME' to speak ill of an 'Elite' coach...... hmmmmmmm 🤔
This leads me to believe that LSU is going to be getting Arch Manning.
why? they don't even have a coach
@@johnhatton730 👍just a gut feeling.
Youre going to have diarrhea with that gut!
If the new coach replaces Corey Raymond and Kevin Faulk they ensuring their own demise.
Kevin Faulk is trash. He’s not even the RB coach from 2019 and we’ve looked like shit ever since…..
Lane Kiffin to LSU.
Billy Napier get him!!!
Does LSU not still have the title 9 violations looming overhead. That’s a con
Facts an nobody brings just acting like this is such a destination job lol they are about to get hit
Reasons why Ed was let go but LSU is not about to get hit hard.
HUZZAH! Now bring in someone with a plan.
If the real reason for firing Coach O is because he's single ready to mingle and this is all yall got yall a sad sack...Not even a yr and half removed from the championship...the season is only half way done they are 4-3 about to be 5-3 having change things around from last year..They may go 8-4 count a bowl win thats another win and you fire him because they conspire to fire him because of chasing women because Paul Fine Baum and media said he will only e in 3 games this season..Man give me a g
Break hope he goes 11-3 takes his 17 million and say kiss my ass!
Dabo Swinney to the rescue!!!!
Looks like Coach O was successful in modifying his wacko Ole Miss on field persona but off field he may have been the same guy.
I was wondering why LSU is so bad-players don’t want to play for him.
Jimbo has to be the top candidate. He's flirted with LSU for a long time...
He played games with LSU in 2016. We fired Les because we though Jimbo was on board. He used LSU to get a better contract out of aTm. Screw Jimbo.
There are many coaches who can come to LSU and win 8-10 games a year, but, that won't get you past Alabama and Georgia. If it's Bama and Georgia you want to be an equal competitor with then you have to hire a really good / smart coach and spend like Bama, which spends more than any college in America on its football program. They have the best team money can buy, plus a great coach Saban.
been telling my LsWho friends that it was coming since before spring game..
HOMER!
I will bet the house that coach O takes down Bama and A&M to go out with bang.
Joe brady, nick Saban, Deon sanders. That's my list. Let's go to work!!
The biggest mistake for LSU would be to rush into a new hire, They have plenty of time no need to rush HONESTLY i dont why any coach would want the job, There must be bigger issues at LSU, ISSUES BEHIND THE SCENE THAT ARE NOT IN THE PUBLIC EYE. But the fact remains COACH O JUST WASNT GETTING IT DONE WHEN A COACH LOOSES THE RESPECT OF HIS PLAYERS AND THE FANS AS WELL, THEY ARE DONE AND ITS TIME TO MOVE ON FOR THE COACH AND THE SCHOOL,LETS BE HONEST COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS A BUSINESS NOW THE DYNAMICS OF THE COLLEGE GAME HAS COMPLETELY CHANGED
If you are not winning you wont be there long especially with the major teams in the country
I wish coach O the very best hope he can get his personal and private affairs together and maybe end up coaching again as an assistant somewhere else i think he has some football knowledge to share with young players, I dont think he was ever head coach material but he was at one time a good assistant.
Ed should go home too the U . LSU did not appreciate you at all
@Haunt he can recruit , he is a short time stay, not lifer like Saban. He was good at USC. Ole Miss over his head. LSU he was better than Miles. He good four years. He got hit hard from Covid last year. Lot his kids left early.
Hey Josh pate we been using the Word “Casual Fan” to describe fans that don’t really know the in and outs about sports for years in Boxing. You’re claiming you Coined it a few weeks ago? You’re a joke
Good grief this is so much word diarrhea.
Being satisfied beating Alabama was the curse!! Period! Where is Alabama at now Ed! Same goes for Texas A@M head coach!
I said this two years ago: Orgeron caught lightning in a bottle in 2019 and that he only got that national title because of Burrow, the receivers he had, and Joe Brady. After they all left, it was going to be impossible to replicate or even keep up with what they did that year. Couple that with the fact that there’s a seriously toxic culture at LSU, which was and is predicated on the coaches and people in charge and it’s no surprise things went to this point.
Who recruited all those players and coaches stupid? No other coach would’ve ever thought about Brady and a west coast with a dual threat like orgeron did😂 I bet you weren’t talking shit after they threw that last TD pass versus Clemson now were ya?
@@coreyrogers5358 lightning in a bottle bud. That year…that ONE year, they put it all together and they were phenomenal. But you’re obviously one of those fans who was pissing into the wind, thinking LSU would it even could sustain that level. Don’t hate me because what I said was right. Just admit it and move on.
Where did Joe Brady go...it's possible it was toxic with Orgeron to begin with and during National Title run.
Each program in the SEC is gonna be helmed by a former Saban assistant eventually. PREFERABLY Pete Golding this time 😆😆😂🤣
