I have this car. It's a lot of fun to drive. Have had it 7 years. 4 years ago I saw them for sale often. Ebay. Lately not at all. Big trunk -- I put my lawnmower in it. Paid $1,200 for it.
It's actually 4WD. AWD is different technically. This doesn't lock up completely but it does mostly. AWD means that the individual wheels can be stopped or slowed, it isn't locked at all.
The frame drivetrain engine transmission everything but the body panels was a Suzuki Sidekick. I worked in a Suzuki dealership in the late nineties, these things were a blast to drive they just weren't very practical
Proud owner of 2 one is a red Auto the other a silver grey manual both in tip top condition . Have made a metal mesh Targa roof as a extra allows the cool air but no thieving Fingers . Cheers from Down Under in Australia .
Love these little cars but there was more then 1200 made 1996 little over 7000 where sold in the USA 484 went to Australia 1300 in the UK and they were sent to other countries as well. They were made in Japan and were first sold in Japan. They are a T top with 2 sides coming off leaving a area in the middle giving it a T top not convertible. The T tops go in the trunk for storage and should have bags to put them in to keep from getting scratched up. Its not All wheel drive its 4 wheel drive. This is 4 wheel drive not All wheel drive car. If Im not mistaken the difference is 4 wheel drive you have to engage the 4 wheel drive for it to work. a All wheel drive is All wheel drive all the time. Also with 4 wheel you need to learn how to use it. Thats if you dont want to replace the transfer case. Which is very expensive when you break it from not using it properly. Like you can't just drive down the road at 40 mph and put it in 4 wheel drive. Also if it has locking hubs which many older 4 wheel drives have. You have to get out of the car to physically lock the hubs in before putting it into 4 wheel drive. My Suzuki Samurai what this way. You also need to know when to use 4 wheel Low and High. The 4 wheel drive isn't complicated but you need to know how to use it. Im not sure what country this man is in but there could be a language differences and what the USA calls something could mean something somewhere else and vice versa. So Im not saying he us wrong in everything he is saying but its something to keep in mind when we are not from the same place and we dont speak the same language. Also maybe in his country only 1200 of these cars where ever shipped over and sold. In the USA they are somewhat rare and getting rarer but I do run across them from time to time. Suzuki Samurai which the x90 car was made to replace is a much harder find in the USA and worth more money then The x90. The Samurai is a tiny little Jeep type vehicle always reminded me of a Tonka toy. I had a Samurai for a few years and loved it I wish I never sold it. It was very dependable did great off road too. They stopped making the Samurai because it wasn't good on curves or very sharp turns it flipped over easily due to the narrow wheel base and the total height of the Samurai. That being said the X 90 and the Samurai are both rare, both super fun to drive, both are dependable and everyone I know thats owned either vehicle has loved it. They both will continue to get more rare and go up in value. I plan on getting a x90 to tow behind my skoolie... I think these are great little cars...
I owned one for three years, back in teh '90s. It was NOT a car to drive anonymously, I must say (but it did do what it meant to do) - no pretension in this car.
@@Elliotw64 yeah it's a Targa top so the centre roof piece stays in for strength, also he doesn't know that you shouldn't use the 4wd function unless you get stuck or traction is poor, he used it on slight gravel which it would easily traverse in 2wd, plus he put it in low range 4wd which is for climbing steep gradients slowly, if he put in 4wd high range it would have been driving at normal pace, driving straight line he's fine using the 4wd but if he turned hard on that track and wheels weren't free to rotate independently as they wish, stress will build up in transfer case and something could break, you can feel tightness and know it's not suitable conditions for calling upon the help of 4wd..
I didn't even make it half-way through. Seeing him call it a convertible and then dump the panels from the Targa-top into the passenger seat was a red flag.
Helo , I have this car ( 1997) x90 , I try to found a motor Window ( driver ) european ( left ) - Motor or complete sistem ... Can you help me ? Thank a lot .
It's not rare, they just didn't make it for many years because nobody wanted something so niche. Yeah that's a better word for it, super niche. Although I do like mine, it's just not rare

I got in a wreck and one of these drove past, and the person that hit me said, ”at least you weren’t driving one of those.”

Love how you put it in 4L for a dirt road 😂
I just bought a x90 today 😁 exactly the same as you (4wd, same wheels, same interior without radio) expect it's blue.
except*
Nicolas Garcia Ciao! I love this car. How much did you pay for this beautiful 4x4? Sure, if you can tell it.
Electric windows and no radio 😆
Got to love the 90s

Dallas, Texas. That's where I have mine 😁. I have the 4x4 Standard, Gray, and I REALLY want to give it a more sporty and retro paint job.

There is a place to put the t-tops in the trunk ;)

Mám čierne X90 . Je to skromné autíčko , veľmi spoľahlivé . 4x4 , aj redukcia fungujú perfektne . Ale veľa toho neodvezie . 👍👍🇸🇰🇸🇰
It is the same drive train than the geo/Chevrolet tracker, Suzuki Grand Vitara of that year?
Grand vitara is a v6 same chassis 89/98 in north America
USA Magyar here, love my X-90.
Subbed for more content!
LoL I have one with coolers in the back it was previously owned by red Bull. Amazing vehicles

Would you sell? Been looking for a Red Bull one for years would pay extremely well
I liked the car; it reminded me of a Tonka toy of a dune buggy which to me looked similar in my mind...
A cute car
Nice little beastie!
See, we have an x-90. However it’s actually automatic is that like more common then the stick shift or what?
The roof is cool. Was this only an X90 Feature or did the standard Vitara get it too ?
Really good epa bil in sweden yes
You opted to leave the roofs on the seat instead of the trunk?
Awesome video! Looking at one myself
I live in Sweden and have one. I’m 15:)
Ska köpa en för 12000kr om några veckor
Thanks so much for the review of a very cute auto.
I want one when I turn 18 soo bad. This seems to fullfill all the desires of mine.

Nice little big car!
Suzuki-king of small cars..
Nice video, but you didn't do your homework about the car properly.
What were some things he got wrong?
@@Elliotw64 For starters' it's not a "Convertible" and it's not "All Wheel Drive".

Called t top not targa that's different
And they were made from 1996 to 1998, not from 1995 to 1997
So cute
car nice!!
You have absolutely no clue what you're talking about

English isn’t his primary language. Try to be nice

Depends on price
¡El cinturón antes de comenzar a conducir, so absurdo!
That small thing is 1.6?
Yep 1.6 liter

自由発想の4WDオープン2シーター
HOW DID YOU FIND ONE? I've been looking for one but they're so rare. If you have any pointers I'd love to hear them
One for sale on FB marketplace in Eugene, OR just fyi
theres one sitting at the back of a dealership in my hometown

When you dont find these on road that much these days then you can call it rare

Well about 11,601 were built if you count Wikipedia's import list. Also about 3,000 of those were a special edition.
@Canyons Liveries and Limousine Service Transports what is your source so i can double check that.
