The first minar was build by Sultan (shahabuddin Ghouri Tajik)in Ghor province present day Afghanistan (Minar jam)
and then his Turkic commander build the second Minar(qutub Minar) in Delhi as a sign how huge his empire was
there is also a city called after Qutubuddin Aibak in north Afghanistan

Back then, nobody identified as "Indian". They just wanted power. The sense of patriotism on the basis of religion is a modern narrative. All of these dictators in the past were barbaric, violent and ruthless. Some were better than the others though. But nobody really cared about country as a whole, they just cared about themselves and their power, considering United India wasn't really a thing back then.
