My standard car insurance policy also offers the same level of coverage on any car I happen to be driving - my wife's car, my friend's car, a rental car. Your insurance policy may do the same. Check it out.
Very useful! It's confusing when you also have a credit card with Car Rental Loss and Damage Insurance. What about a personal vehicle booked with a business credit card?
In many cases, your credit card will give some coverage, like you mentioned. However, the liability coverage your credit card will offer is generally either non-existent or very minimal. This is another reason why I recommend just buying the rental car's coverage! Thanks for watching.
What is he saying - "not that expensive' ???? ? "CDW" or collission damage waiver is not exactly an insurance, and @17/day it is the most expensive coverage in the world. Use a credit card that will cover rental car insurance if you have the choice. If not, then you have to buy CDW.
Great information just one more thing i need to know …so usually i book from Priceline or Expedia and i buy insurance from there so is that the insurance you talking about to buy or from front counter or its all same !!!
you are wrong, they dont cover for liability ..it means if u hit someone, they wont cover ịt . prliceline or expendia wont cover libality , they only cover CDW
How to avoid $1000 deductible driving they rental cars if an accident is not your fault? They say you will pay it no matter who's at fault. Can I use my personal insurance?
@@LHP74D3 just know this.. your credit card cover everything except Liability. Liability is only 10 bucks a day. Reject others such as road side assistance, personal loss bc credit card willmcover it....
Question, last time I visited the United States, I rented a car for 27 days, and i fell for low price trap on Expedia, but it didn’t mention how much the insurance would be, so i guessed like maybe $500 tops. Went to the rental agency, they charged me $2200 only for the insurance, while the car itself was $1600. Wasn’t able to refund it and had to pay this ridiculous amount I remember i had to pay $130 per month for insurance when i lived in the United States. To my question, since I’m no longer with a valid United state’s license, can i buy an insurance policy prior to visiting the United states for tourism and use it instead of buying the rental agency insurance? P.s. I’m not an American so not sure how would i be insured with a tourist visa

If I have no personal insurance, and don’t buy the company’s insurance, what happens if I get into an accident? Am I driving illegally under these circumstances?
You are not driving illegal once you have your credit card attached then your credit card is somewhat of an insurance so if you should get in an accident your credit will cover it. It's a bad idea not to get the insurance plus it's only $15-$30 a day for the car rental insurance. Never use your car insurance either bc your insurance gonna pay if anything should happen.

@@MysticGoddess0728. In NY every car rental place gives you the option to either use you personal car insurance, credit card or buy the insurance they provide for a small additional fee. I've used enterprise and uhal and they both had the same concept...

Good advice. How about Turo? Now does a car insurance company cover Turo car rentals?

ONLY accept LIABLITY ( if u damage someone car) ..reject CDW ( someone damages your car) bc credit card covers it.

There are certain situations and states where you could probably make this work. What state would you be visiting?
@@Safestreetinsurance i was visiting Los Angeles at that time.

@Hect Vega Yes correct and it doesn't go on your name at all, It just pretty much disappeared once you have the rental insurance
