Yea the type s takes 93 octane. I mean so does the redline. Tbh my old redline would have put around 3 pushes on a type s. It had 310HP weighing in at 2700 pounds and when it got tuned it made 350HP
Good buy, the plastics are easy to change on these cars. I got the 06 gm stage 2 g85 package silver as well. Get you a high rise wing some cobalt lowering springs and some lnf wheels and it'll look a lot better!

Bleeding the clutch can be a pain sometimes on the lsj. The clutch pedal can mess up too I haven't had that issue yet. (Knock on wood.) I'm currently in the process of fixing my car due to jumping time spark plug exploded in the head most likely bent valves the timing chain needed replaced before hand but ignored it. Smh. Great vid. I have a '07 performance package model that I might sell. It has just a little over 180k on the odometer but runs great and fast. Still on the fence about letting it go, but everytime I see a video like yours, it gives me new love for this car. Yes, it is a sleeper which I like because when I pull away from someone how did not expect the acceleration from it, it draws a smile on my face..and I have yet to mod it. I just wish it was rear wheel instead of front wheel drive.

Looks like a 2004-2005 redline. Doesn’t have the comp package. Redline or not you don’t see many ion quad coupes. You see far more ion sedans. I have 2 quad coupes. The redline is quick. Mine aren’t redlines but still unique. It would be easier just to replace the driver door panel than it would be to paint it. This car came before the cobalt SS the SS didn’t come out until 2005. Awesome video. Going to Sub want to see where the redline goes. The only difference between the redlines and the other ions is the engine and transmission

I have 2 ion quad coupes and my sister had a 1998 SL2. I won’t have anything else. My first car was a jaguar and I drove it for about a year and that was it I had to have a Saturn.

Showcase little things like the custom painted dashboard for example. My ion redlines dashboard is all black but I'd like to paint it gray like yours.
Yea man so basically it’s just a charge pipe with a K&N cold air intake, headers, catless down pipe , full zzp performance Exhaust, and a stage 2 clutch! And I upgraded To better headlights. They are the stock ones but like way cleaner!!! The old ones were nasty
i also didnt hear if you mentioned if the supercharger pully was smaller than stock. you have upgraded fuel injectors and a lot of the other mods ppl do in preperation for a smaller pully. i also assume since they went through zzp they had it tuned to match the new parts?
@@Chriskary1 yea i figured the supercharger itself was still the m62 supercharger but GM and zzp makes stage kits for these cars to run a smaller supercharger pully on the car with larger fuel injectors for greater boost. i figured with all the other mods it was possible it had the smaller pully and such on it alreayd. take a look into it if you decide to fix the car up or want more power. its fairly cheap as well under 1000 for several easy to do mods.

Take those petals off and it's called a LOCK OUT it's the shifter not the trans lol. I've got a 05 with a B&M shifter. Looks better than urs for $1400 but ur interior is perfect!! Put a new shifter and pulley reduction then leave it bro

I just got a redline. Got a sweet deal on it with only 102k miles. Mechanical wise it was taken care of. Interior/exterior, ehh not so much. Learning to drive standard with it. Huge upgrade from my 99 oldmobile ha ha.

Ive had one, cant remember if it was stage 2 or 3. Hell, it was 15 years ago. But redline was 8250 with the reprogram and 44 lbs injectors. Had a true cold air and the filter was right up in the left front part of the bumper cover. I had to delete the fin so people would stop messing with me. Smoked every camaro, mustang, boxter, older 911 and even some vettes, including my brothers 400hp 68 vette. Still have the trophy in my garage. Legit, drag strip, 12.71. When i was done with it, i was down to 11ish mpg. Fun as hell, sold it cause it was too fast for a front wheel drive car. Solid as can be though, lsj’s have soooo many possibilities if you build then right and that platform is tough as nails. I tried my hardest to blow it up and it never happened.

If your lowering it that low, you need a version 3 rotated trans mount or you break axles constantly. Lol, by the way, you overpaid, no way its worth 6k.

Competition Package Redline is most ideal, but this Redline was still a nice deal and yes rare. These engines will do 250thousand miles no problem.
