    This does allow pitch correction, if you double tap the tone button it will start flashing intermittently which indicates that pitch correction is enabled. Also, the 5 banks are expandable to 10. This is a great pedal and I have had mine for over 10 years now.

    I picked a used one last year and it has really filled out my solo performances. I like running the dry and harmony vocals out separately to have a little bit more control over the mix, but having all of the available tools and a guitar tuner in a fairly small package is a great deal.

      You can also use it without a guitar by setting the preset to MANUAL. In this case you have to enter the root note of the scale and choose a scale (you can choose between three different major and three different minor scales).
      When on MANUAL mode, it won't work as expected on songs with more complexes harmonies.

      Same. I use it in my band and run my bass through it - it still senses the key but it doesn’t really like it if you do heavy drop B or Drop C. It works great with guitar on that pedalboard (I have 2 Harmony gx-t’s- one for each board). It will work with bass but it doesn’t really like it. I use the doubler and slight harmony cause my singing can sound like ass some times and this is best box I’ve found. Been using this unit for a few years now.

      The Harmony-G XT works without an instrument, but then you have to set all presets to Manual and set a key in each preset and switch presets during the song. This is pretty useless.
      For use without an instrument, I would recommend a TC-Helicon model with a Step function, such as VoiceLive 2, VoiceLive 2 Extreme, VoiceLive 3, VoiceLive 3 Extreme.

    Can I do this? The unit will "hear" the guitar the same?
    I assume that the guitar control won't operate, 'cause it is an "level out" control, isn't that right?
    Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

    • @kiskadar69
      @kiskadar69 Год назад +1

      Yes, it works, but you have to make sure that the guitar signal does not appear on the XLR outputs of the Harmony-G XT. To do this, you either have to turn down the Harmony-G XT's "Guitar" pot (immediately above the Auto position is an “off band” where the guitar is muted), or plug a "blind" 1/4" jack plug into the Harmony-G XT's "THRU" jack socket.

      "Using Manual mode does this. It could be that you aren’t playing your guitar in a particular song, that you’re not playing a guitar at all, or that you’ve used fixed-key harmony in other TC-Helicon products and found it works better and sounds unique in certain songs. If you’re not sure what the key of your song is, it’s often the same as the first or last chord of the song.
      (...)
      To set key in Manual Mode without a guitar:
      1. Press both footswitches simultaneously to temporarily enter key setting mode. If no footswitch input is received after a few seconds, the mode will exit.
      2. Tap the left footswitch to cycle through the key options and the right footswitch to cycle through the 6 available scales. After a moment, the mode will automatically exit.
      Understanding the Manual key display:
      The key in Harmony-G XT is shown in 3 sequential flashes. For example, an E might flash, then a dash “-”, and then a number 3 indicating E minor 3. The number corresponds to one of three major and three minor modified scales. Choosing an alternate scale may help you find a fixed-key harmony that works best for your song.

      1. Play a major or minor chord whose root is the key of your song.This can be set before or during performance of your song.
      2. Press both footswitches simultaneously while the chord sustains.The LED display will show the key (described below) and will automatically exit after a moment. The Manual LED will light indicating the guitar no longer controls harmony. To modify the key and scale, see step #2 below.
For example, an E might flash, then a dash “-”, and then a number 3 indicating E minor 3.The number corresponds to one of three major and three minor modified scales. Choosing an alternate scale may help you find a fixed-key harmony that works best for your song.
      Once your key is set and you’re happy with it, it can be stored with the current preset by holding the Preset button."

      The number 8 indicates a power supply failure. Try another power supply (12VDC, center negative, minimum 300mA).

    Geez, way overblown on the reverb. It seems this box does not feature momentary switch for harmonies, which is a dealbreaker for me.

    Sounds like this needs to be coupled with a guitar. Not good for a just a vocalist.

    • @thepedalpicassos
      @thepedalpicassos  2 года назад +2

      Yep! Needs a guitar as a reference to generate the harmony! You can set it to be a specific key… but it doesn’t work that well… using a guitar or keyboard or backing track works better!

      It can actually be used for voice alone.. which is why it is highly sought after. It's not instrument dependant
