In 1975, I was 12 and my bedtime was 10pm but every Wed. night when my dad was out bowling, I'd beg my mom to let me stay up to watch Baretta and she always let me. My favorite show. I really loved the guy up until the whole murder thing. Events like that tend to make one reconsider, like the OJ murder thing, the Will Smith slap thing, the Bill Cosby grape thing, you know what I mean. Nobody's perfect I guess.

The role he played as a young boy in 'The Treasure of the Sierra Madre' was brief but really memorable. His last years were obviously not good ones for him but he sure could act well! 👍
He was in the last gang at the end of the series of MGM shorts in the 1940's. He initially replaced Porky. Billie "Buckwheat" Thomas, Billie "Froggy" Laughlin and Janet Burston were his co stars who were with the series until it's end in 1944.
In an interview I watched years ago, he stated that while he was incarcerated the people he trusted blew through all his money. RIP because you haven't had much rest in the past couple of decades.

I saw 'In Cold Blood' as a college student in 1967 in Kansas where the murders took place and the movie theater was full of people crying - that's how the film and his portrayal of one of the killers affected them.
Boy, he sure had his issues. It's a shame he ended this way. He was a wonderful actor. Bonnie Bakley was not a good choice. He really went down hill when he got involved with her.

Because the burden of proof for criminal culpability is higher than that of civil. There was enough evidence of his guilt that they believed he needed to pay a price for it.

She's 22 years old and was raised by Delinah Blake, her much older half sister. So she still has a mother figure in her life.
