Great Video, Ray- thanks for putting it together! My buddy has one of these, & watching him manipulate it in flight is different than actually doing it yourself, especially since it’s just not as intuitive as modern touchscreen navs. Thanks!
AKKK, I came here to learn how to save a flight plan and you didn't show us how to do that after going through all that work to generate it. What's with that?
Sir, Then Flight Plan is FFP=flight plan=select=direct=enter=way points=direct=enter. If it's correct then by 3years l am already good at safe flight plan and approach ,then l begin to study the vertical rules and ethics and Airspaces which l looks at the 18000ft to really confirm vertualy right now. Garmin has a simulator program you can download to practice using the 430 and other units. I don't know about the others, but the 430 program is only supposed to work with Windows XP. I tried it on Win 10 and it doesn't work. You could probably make an XP emulator of some sort so that it will work on a newer computer. Otherwise, I've heard that you can use the free X-Plane simulator, and interface the 430 on the panel.
@@8literbeater I tried downloading the simulator trainer from Garmin . com and they did not have it anymore. The I found the one that was mentioned by you and had problems with it because my computer is a Win 7 Home Premium and not the "XP" version. @@8literbeater If you right click on the program, do you have a "Run As" option - or something like that to run the program in Windows XP mode? FWIW I run the Garmin sim on a Linux machine, I would think there is a way to get Windows 10 to run it.
