In this episode #5, we continue our adventure to get to the Mediterranean Sea. We make our way from Royan at the mouth of the mighty Gironde estuary, upstream to Bordeaux.
Adventures aboard SV MINUET highlights my continuing quest to explore the seas and inland waterways of the world.
I bought a Southerly 95 because the southerlies have a retractable keel enabling them to stay afloat in very shallow water (55cm) or even to run aground and wait for the tide to come back up! Perfectly at home on the high seas, a drying harbour or inland rivers and canals.
Join us on this exciting adventure and let’s see where our dreams will take us.
    Welcome aboard!

@@svminuet ho, and also, you mention château eyquem, indeed along the estuary, but nothing to do with the worldwide famous château Yquem, producing the exceptionnal Sauternes, which is not top far, but within the grounds, not visible from the river. (a bit before langon, last city before castets where the canal begins at a major 10m high lock). Safe sailing. 👍
