edgy kid ikr , I loved them , even saw them live in march and was a decent concert , but their latest album and output has just made me outgrow them , kinda a shame as I absolutely loved them to death
I legit felt like a disappointed mother for 30 Seconds to Mars. I used to rave how great and so grandiose their music was; now I can’t even look at their new album.
Hoo boy! There's a whole lot of bands and artists I've grown out. - Twenty One Pilots (I still really respect their talent, and they put on a really mesmerising live show. But they really aren't all that special to me anymore.) - Melanie Martinez (it wasn't really anything to do with the accusations in the first place, but her songs just got really stale to me after repeated listens.) - Halsey (yikes! Do I even need to explain?) - Andy Black (I wanted to start getting into more "HaRdCoRe" music and he was where I started... long story short: nope!) - Pierce The Veil + Sleeping With Sirens (similar reasons to Andy) And that's pretty much the tea, I was pretty much a huge Tumblr "pastel goth" girl and then briefly a "sO fUcKiNg HaRdCoRE OwO!!!!" emo, I'm still REALLY emo. I'm just really picky haha!
1. Simple Plan = This is the first band I ever got into, so a few songs have nostalgia. But otherwise, it's meme status. 2. Three Days Grace = Another one of the first bands I got into. It just got stale for me. Got me into AMVs tho. 3. Skillet = Speaking of AMVs. For a while I liked what I heard, but found out that's pretty much all they've got. 4. Blink 182 = I don't know if this one actually counts. I was always put off by them but liked a few songs for a while. 5. Story of the Year = The gateway to me getting into heavier music. I still have a good amount of nostalgia for them, and was surprised by some tracks on the new album, but a lot of their lyrics are hard to take seriously. I still occasionally listen to them to get into the mood to write fantasy action, though. Maybe this is all because these are bands most people get into in middle school but I wasn't able to listen to secular music until late high school...
Not a bad idea at all personally mine would be: 1. Creep by Radiohead (Absolutely amazing song that gives me goosebumps to this day by I hate how everyone just associates Radiohead with this one song). 2. Feeling good by Muse (Awesome song that I love but it does feel overrated when it comes to how most people knoe this song by them and don't bother to check out their other amazing songs). 3. Down with the sickness by Disturbed (Personally, I find it a great song but I can't listen to it all the time. Also, do you really have to be that violent? Jfc). 4. Chop Suey by System Of A Down (Great song that I absolutely love and the whole "Toxicity" album is great but it can feel overrated when most people only know this song, "BYOB", "Toxicity" and "Sugar"). 5. Why does my heart feel so bad? By Moby (Really good song by Moby but it does feel like it's overrated when people seem to only know this song then his other amazing works like "Porcelain", "Natural Blues", "Honey", "Flower" and "Run on"). 6. Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana (Again, awesome song but it does feel overrated when people only associate this song with Nirvana and claim to be a huge fan. Not to mention, not many of the mainstream majority know much of Nirvana's awesome songs like "In Boom", "Rape me", "Polly", his awesome cover of "Where did you sleep last night?" and "The man who sold the world"). 7. No one knows by Queens Of Stone Age (Awesome song and one of my favourites by QOTSA but it's debatable in how overrated you could consider the song as the studio version can feel overrated without the quirky Spanish radio bit at the end but again, listening to live versions of this song it isn't at all. It all comes down to your perspective as with QOTSA their singles can feel overrated but at the same time, not and feel almost completely underrated). Should've mentioned before but it all comes to your perspective. Some songs I mentioned you might feel are extremely underrated while others might find it super overrated.
Mine would be 7. Uprising - Muse 6. Sugar, We’re Going Down - Fall Out Boy 5. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles 4. What I’ve Done - Linkin Park 3. The Pretender - Foo Fighters 2. Enter Sandman - Metallica 1. I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin
7: Knights of Cydonia by Muse (elitists claim you're a fake fan if you like their popular songs but treat this like Bohemian Rhapsody. Couldn't get into it,.) 6: Good Riddance by Green Day (hear me out John) 5: Shape of You by Ed Sheeran (and it's fucking shit) 4: Creep by Radiohead (duh) 3: Paradise by Coldplay (not a bad song but it pisses me off when this is the only song Coldplay #fans' know. This and Yellow) 2: Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs (I get it's their most popular but it ain't their best) 1: Numb by Linkin Park (forgive me, it's good but not great)
The Great Sloth Lord Surprised you put Feeling Good out of all Muse songs, I feel most fans completely disregard that one. The others are just their most popular so I see where you're coming from.
30stm sadly, for me. It's really sad to see the decline of this band to be honest. I've listened to them for over 10 years but for the past few years all they've done (or lack thereof) has been disappointing. I really don't know what they're waiting to just quit it all at once because they've clearly ran out of ideas.
Liliana Maria true AF. And it's sad. 7 years ago I was sooooooo into them, I even have "Provehito in altum" tattoo) Now they are not good at all, to say the least. But The kill will always be my fave, it's awesome)
I'm half in denial about it but yeah, i agree. The songs are beginning to get same-ish. I got Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams but i didn't really replay it. I did see them live during that era and they were pretty good but when i comes to albums i prefer Jared's '00 vocal style and i think i just need to live with the fact that isn't ever going to return.
These Artists not just bands for Me: - Sleeping With Sirens (First Two Albums are Awesome, rest is mehh) - Escape The Fate (Self Titled still holds up) - Falling In Reverse (ehh Ronnie's too much) - Black Veil Brides (Good Guitar Solos) - Skrillex (Still Jam to Bangarang) - Owl City (First Album still holds up) - Good Charlotte (ehh) - Five Finger Death Punch (ewww)
The ABacross I agree. I used to love escape and considered them a favorite of mine but the new album leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like it’s written for a much younger audience than me.
SWS's newest album, How It Feels To Be Lost, is actually a lot similar to their old stuff from their first two albums. And I gotta disagree with that pick, as with FIR, but I can agree with the rest lol.
-Most 2000's pop-punk (Exception: Green Day) -Papa Roach If anything there's more bands that I'm grateful I didn't have a phase for in my tween/teenage years than those I actually ended up going through.
I haven't outgrown any bands but I have outgrown listening to Melanie Martinez. I used to be obsessed and now I just don't think that her music is all that great. I never come back to it anymore.
Same, I was really into her album, I guess I liked the idea of a concept album. She's still talented, but some lyrics feel a little forced, and border line cringey at this point. Electra Heart by Marina and The Diamonds was a better character driven album in my opinion.
Avenue Teal im actually from the same town as her just alittle younger- everyone there( i moved) hates her cause she is successful. im indifferent tho not my style of electronic pop. i dont think she did honestly but idk what her career trajectory will be- im a solo artist so less competition( i know - im evil) i dont wish her harm tho (socially or physically)
Avenue Teal I think it’s more the way she handled it in the first place by saying “she never said no.” There are a millions ways better to handle rape allegations.
Avenue Teal I cannot speak for those who are behaving that way but the internet provoked bandwagoning assholes. At the time, too many fans were doing the opposite and because of their blind love for her didn’t even want to entertain the idea she did anything wrong. And to be fair as far as I see now the only thing she 100% did wrong was the way she handled the allegations. I think it’s important we as a society pay attention and listen to those who speak out about their rape experiences because even in the rare instance it goes this way and it’s all made up, there are still people who are trying to ok what Cosby did. Or try to place blame on the victim.
Bands I grew out of.. Fall out Boy (become too poppy and lost identity. I still like a good bit of their pre-hiatus stuff thought) The 1975 (a lot of their lyrics started to sound really cliche to me like they were all just quotes stolen from tumblr) -Twenty One Pilots (they have become too cringy, toxic fan base, lack of new music) -Simple Plan (way too generic and unoriginal) Good Charlotte ( same reasons as Simple Plan)
I still unashamedly like Lifehouse haha, although I completely understand your points. It's mainly a nostalgic thing for me. Everything is still to this day one of my all time favourite songs.
i feel the same with 30stm ive grown up with them and also grown to hate them. i saw them live in 2013 and that was it for me. they were so bad and i had been listening to them since 2009. i havent even heard there new album i just know it is bad.
I think they lost their credibility sometime around 2010-2011, but I was able to somewhat enjoy all hands over, overexposed, and V. however, everything they've released since 2016 (besides what lovers do and help me out, i kinda liked those songs) i've not been a fan of.
i still like some of Disturbed's older stuff, but anyone who says Their Cover of Land of Confusion is better than the original (even though i like the cover) i will have to fight, but yeah, i don't think i've listen to anything new from them since. Asylum i think, but i didn't even listen to that album much. Yeah, i'm Also pretty much done with 30 Seconds to Mars. I still liked songs off Love and Lust, but "America" is just a mess. (I'm trying to think if there are any more bands, most bands i at least go back and listen to stuff every now and then, even if i've stopped listening to newer stuff)
I guess, Maroon 5 and Train to some extent. (but I think with Train I only ever liked Drops of Jupiter. and their self titled with Meet Virginia (I still Really like Meet Virginia) (and Maroon 5 I think i've only really ever liked their first album as well).
Bands I grew out of: Nickleback, Five Finger Death Punch, 30 Seconds to Mars, Lifehouse, Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down (though I still like a few of their songs), Maroon 5, Plain White Ts, and Daughtry.
I'm amazed at how I can still appreciate Fall Out Boy's music long after my emo phase. Perhaps even more now, since I have a newfound appreciation for music in general.
Personally feel that Disturbed 'does' have a lot to come back to. Absolutely love their work and honestly did really like Immortalized; I think it wasn't necessary worth the hiatus but it was still pretty good. Songs like The Light, Never Wrong and Save Our Last Goodbye were amazing imo. They've been teasing some really huge departures for their upcoming album... might change your mind?
30 Seconds to Mars's debut album shocked me how good it is. I only knew them for "This is War", "The Kill" and "ATTACK". It blew me away and I'm so disappointed that's the sound they dropped.
I used to be in love with Bring Me The Horizon, My Chemical Romance and Fall out boy. I was your stereotypical emo girl. Now I listen to Highly Suspect, a band called WOWH and that's pretty much it, I'll listen to Kasabian or Jeremy Zucker every now and again or post-traumatic by Mike Shinoda.
I outgrew Fall Out Boy. Not a popular statement I assume. But, I fell in love with them in second grade, and started falling away from them at about 14. And I’m 18 now.
30 seconds to mars was my favorite band of ALL TIME until VERY recently. I don’t even think it’s that i outgrew them, I think they just changed too much. Also Jared Leto’s ego didn’t bother me before (I literally started listening to them when I was 9 so it’s not like I even noticed) but I think it has since grown, and become more noticeable to me with age. Really disappointing because I never thought in a million years that they would sell out in the way they have. Especially since they released a wishy washy patriotic weird ass album where they don’t really take a stance on the current state of America at all. It’s like they don’t want to have any kind of opinion in their music anymore so that they can appeal to as many people as physically possible.
I outgrew a lot of early 2000s alt rock/metal bands like TDG, Disturbed (ESPECIALLY them). The only one I still dig is Breaking Benjamin. When I listen to the other bands now I honestly just cringe.
Haha same. The only Christian rock band I can still listen to is Kings Kaleidoscope, and Switchfoot (although they’re more of a crossover band than strictly Christian rock)
Adam Kelly yeah. I really like what I’ve heard from kings kaleidoscope. They’re actually making music that has a Christian part of it, not just Christian Music™️ without any actually artistry going on
Agreed. 95% of Christian bands are so cliche and void of any creativity, with sterile and fake-happy lyrics. I will say Kings K is not one of them and I saw them live a few weeks ago. Fantastic show, and they played the explicit version of “A Prayer” which it was moving as hell.
There's not really alot of bands that I've outgrown, but the very few that I have outgrown would be Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and Adema. I could never outgrow from listening to Disturbed. They're one of my all time favorite bands.
Hollywood Undead is my favorite band. To me, they have a flare that attracts me. I remember getting into them back in 6th grade and I instantly feel in love with them. For a time, I did push away from them. After listening to Day Of The Dead, my love for them resparked. Some songs are party songs and just having a good time. Others really do tell a story. Like how I think Rain tells a story of a solider going to war. The Diary is a story of a struggling alcoholic. Their latest single, Gotta Let Go, tells about moving on, dealing with the issues, and overall trying to get your life back on track. I love how they evolve as a band but still stay true to who they are. This is just my opinion, but Hollywood Undead will always stay with me.
I apparently have more bands that I grew out of than I thought. Sorry about the novel I wrote, but there were 6 I could think of. 1. 30 Seconds to Mars: I really agree with you about them. I really loved them 2006-2008. I just didn't keep up with them because after A Beautiful Lie I just wasn't interested in their music and Jared Leto is.... a lot. I did like that documentary about them being sued by their label though, it was interesting. 2.Black Veil Brides: I can't believe how into them I was. If I go back in my tumblr history, I just cringe about how much I liked them and how many fights I got into becasue I would defend them. I even ran a side tumblr about one of them members. Andy Biersack's dad still follows me on twitter. I was into them from around 2010-2013 which was part of my junior year of high school to my freshman year of college. Oh god. I still will go back and listen to their second and third album because I do still enjoy them but their first is just sounds like it was recorded in a bedroom and their fourth was stale. I didn't even bother with their most recent album. I still have my t shirts though. It's hard for me to get rid of a band t. Also I'm still following a lot of my internet friends I made around that time so at least some good things came out of it. 3.Asking Alexandria: the last album of theirs I listened to was Reckless and Relentless. I just kind of grew out of that style of music. I'm going to Warped so maybe I'll try to see their set for old times sake since I didn't get to see them when I liked them. 4. Of Mice & Men: I remember loving their self titled album and The Flood and the reissue of it but I just couldn't get into Resorting Force and never listened to anything after it. I saw them live and enjoyed it and I've even met them and they were really nice but again I think I just didn't like that style of rock anymore. 5. Escape The Fate: I really enjoyed their first two albums, even liked the third but I just didn't keep up with anything after that. I tried to listen to some singles but they just felt so stale and like what they were doing had already been done. 6. Get Scared: They're not as big as other bands in the genre, in fact I don't even know if they're even together anymore. I loved their first EPs and album but then they had a line up change and did an EP with Joel Faverie which was a good EP. Then they got rid of him and brought in the original singer and I just kind of didn't pay attention to them after that. Joel ended up being arrested for child porn so maybe it was a good thing they got rid of him when they did.
I still like Disturbed, their last album was actually pretty decent. And I'll never get tired of Down with the Sickness :D As for myself I tend to hang onto bands always thinking they'll get better, the only one I can name for certain is Fall Out Boy and maybe to a lesser extent Creed. I am sure there is more but I have so music I cannot be bothered to rummage through it all lol.
My analysis/opinions of the bands on this list: #7 - Don't hate these guys, but I never really got into them. #6 - Same as above #5 - I still love plenty of these guys' material, but they're more of a singles band for me. #4 - This band just makes me sad. They used to be amazing, but their best days were years ago, and the bigger their lead singer's ego gets, the less likely it is to get any better AT ALL. #3 - Don't hate these guys, but they're more of a song band, yet again if I here one of their songs on the radio I won't complain, I'll enjoy it for what it is. Just not an album's worth of material that I could enjoy. #2 - Oh boy...I still loooooove these guys, ngl. I even still have fun listening to them, yes they're a guilty pleasure for some but I still enjoy them. Their new stuff is better than their older stuff, though, as they matured and grew up. #1 - No...just no. That's all I can say about this band. Great list man! Looking forward to more. :)
I thought Lifehouse, Good Charlotte, and Hollywood Undead were in your previous list already (or a video similar to it)? Despite HU’s extremely vulgar lyrics, I still manage to like they’re music. It’s like the most off compared to all the other bands I love and I consider them a guilty pleasure. I still like all of their albums except for Swan Songs and I still think their song Mother Murder will always be their hidden perfect gem. As for bands I grew out of, I feel like I’m slowly getting tired of PatD.
For me over the years i can say a lot of bands, i just grew out of. The most notable ones are Breaking Benjamin, System of a Down, Black Veil Brides, Coldplay, Radiohead, RHCP, and Red
I was going to say I don't really have many artists I've fallen out of love with, considering the fact that I still get tastes for stuff I've been listening to since childhood, BUT then I remembered.... Pierce the Veil Sleeping with Sirens Lana Del Rey Marina and the Diamonds Melanie Martinez No offense if any of y'all are fans. (Don't come after me please.)
Even though I heavily outgrew Hollywood undead from only listening to them everyday, I still listen to them but now I listen to a lot of other music. I still like them though.
Been listening to Hollywood undead since Swan songs still haven't not liked a record they put out there a revolutionary band for me immaturity and violence is the best kind of music for me
here is a long list of bands I grew out of Fall Out boy Panic! At the disco all time low Green day imagine dragons x ambassadors killers gorrilaz skillet three days grace and foo fighters
Damn. I grew out of All Time Low and never liked 3DG or Skillet, but other than that, I still love all of them. Could you tell me some bands you're into now? I'd be interested to know how your taste has changed.
Ja'Crispies well these are bands I got into when I was first starting out with music nowadays it's almost all Heavy metal here's a list metallica pantera Lamb of God avenged sevenfold overkill exodus Dream Theater epica nightwish obituary skeletonwitch kreator bathory havok slayer opeth cannibal corpse candlemass queensryche sabaton einsiferum basically anything within the metal spectrum.
Ahhh I too, was obsessed with Good Charlotte back in high school. They were my favorite band amd my first rock concert! I even made scrapbooks of all my pix. Stopped liking them after Chronicals came out, they started loosing their allure after that album. Although, i disagree. Their best album is Young and Hopeless!
Linkin Park. Disturbed. Sum 41. Korn (i still think their early records are classic but i dont listen anymore). I will never outgrow Blink, RHCP, Incubus, Oasis, SOAD, Slipknot, etc.
Was at a good charlotte concert three days ago and it was great to see them live again. Benji and Joel know most of their fans started listenting to them in middleschool/highschool and they really appreciate their long lasting listeners. Sadly they did not play any songs from Cardiology
It's bittersweet to outgrow Hollywood Undead. I grew up with these guys. The bands signature delicery tackled many emotions shamelessly their flaws almost deliberately exposed. I can cringe at Gangsta Sexy and Comin in Hot but I'll subconsciously claim them necessary evils.
The band I can think of at the top of my head is All Time Low. They were my favorite band for so long and then before their last two albums drop my music taste change. Now I'm more drawn to the emo punk grunge and post hardcore sound of bands.
Bands/artists I grew out of: Boys Like Girls Owl City 30 Seconds To Mars (i rooted for these guys but from LLF+D onward, it’s just not great anymore) Bastille Simple Plan Of Mice & Men
The only music I really outgrew was the music I listen to as part of my RUclipsr music phase that lasted from 2017 to 2018. I obviously can no longer go back and listen to those songs. Additionally, there are a couple country songs that came out around the same time period that I also can no longer go back and listen to.
I have a few: Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for My Valentine, Florida Georgia Line (I really liked their debut album and then I got bored of them shortly their after), Train
I’ll admit I still love Disturbed, Thirty Seconds to Mars, and Good Charlotte. The later two aren’t very good with their modern stuff, but their early works are great to me.
I've def outgrew 30STM and Hollywood Undead. I mean I did listen to them while cleaning my playlist, but I don't really listen to them (appart from when I deliberated on whether to keep them or not).
The biggest one for me would probably be The Calling. To most people they were a one-hit wonder band (Wherever You Will Go) but I was obsessed with them between 2004/2007, they only released two albums but I knew every song word for word and like yourself with Hollywood Undead I probably still do even if it's been about 5 years since I've properly listened to them! At the time I thought their lyrics were super deep and profound but thinking back on them, they really weren't, at all. In saying that I will maybe defend 'Could it Be Any Harder' and 'Stigmatized'
Hollywood Undead is a true party rock band. I feel weird when people take them remotely seriously. 90% of their songs are just bitches, boobs and booze. It's perfect when you're high as hell. Yup, I like them. The bands I personally don't listen to that much now are 3DG and TFK.
Some bands that I used to love that I outgrew are -Black Veil Brides -Sleeping with Sirens -Pierce the Veil -Falling in Reverse -Escape the Fate -Hollywood Undead -All Time Low It's not that I don't respect or enjoy certain songs or even the band as a whole, my taste's just changed. I think a lot of them are great for first getting into modern bands but as I got older their music just didn't resonate as much with me.
Disturbed used to be my all-time favorite band... Then I fell in love with Blink 182... Then fell out of love with Blink 182 and discovered Brand New... Great band. So amazing,
I’ll agree with you on Hollywood Undead but even when I was super into them I still found the songs where J3T was doing the verses or the main one (Paradise Lost, SCAVA, Outside, etc.) where always the better songs. They are the ones I still listen to
I still love Hollywood Undead, although, Thier second album was the one that won me over, and Swan Songs is the one I like the least. But I can see why some people aren't into it.
Rebellious lol. I grew up with heavy music from birth. I still love disturbed but I’ve moved on to a lot heavier things. Mostly prog metal like monuments, periphery, gojira, etc
I use to love Simple Plan and The All American Rejects and now I just don't listen to a single song from them. I still love Disturbed tho and I agree with you on thirty seconds to mars, I love the first three albums but after that I wasn't feeling anything they were doing. Especially that last album that one can seriously go fuck itself. I was huge on HU still like that band but probably not as crazy as I use to.
I used to be so into Hollywood Undead when I was in Junior High and High School. I even saw them live with Stone Sour and Avenged Sevenfold. It makes me cringe.
Atleast you got to see stone sour and A7x (though I'm a fan of Hollywood undead I am in mididle school and in a few years I see myself changing taste. It happens every few years)
Thirty Seconds To Mars in 2018 is just a solo project of Jared Leto’s ego.
Ophelia C. Could'nt agree more.
yea I went to a radio 104.5 concert where they headlined and didnt even stay to watch them.
Ophelia C. Agreed
I know, I can’t believe the band that made one of my favorite songs (The Kill) has turned into this.
edgy kid ikr , I loved them , even saw them live in march and was a decent concert , but their latest album and output has just made me outgrow them , kinda a shame as I absolutely loved them to death
I petition that 30 seconds to Mars change their name to The Jared Leto Ego Experience.
Nah. With bands like the Jimi Hendrix Experience, you could at least tell there were other band members behind the frontman.
Can I sign it XD
+Ja'Crispies Hence *ego* experience
Jared Lego
Signed lol
I legit felt like a disappointed mother for 30 Seconds to Mars. I used to rave how great and so grandiose their music was; now I can’t even look at their new album.
Same 😥
I still like Disturbed, but I have to agree with your other opinions
They're cool and I like their new album
The Wiggles. (nah, they're still great) :D
F R U I T S A L A D Y U M M Y Y U M M Y
Don't fuck with the Wiggles.
Tom The Boulder COLD SPAGHETTI COLD SPAGHETTI
Now I need a top 10 The Wiggles song list.
or a 7 on Sunday The Wiggles. ::D
Hoo boy! There's a whole lot of bands and artists I've grown out.
- Twenty One Pilots (I still really respect their talent, and they put on a really mesmerising live show. But they really aren't all that special to me anymore.)
- Melanie Martinez (it wasn't really anything to do with the accusations in the first place, but her songs just got really stale to me after repeated listens.)
- Halsey (yikes! Do I even need to explain?)
- Andy Black (I wanted to start getting into more "HaRdCoRe" music and he was where I started... long story short: nope!)
- Pierce The Veil + Sleeping With Sirens (similar reasons to Andy)
And that's pretty much the tea, I was pretty much a huge Tumblr "pastel goth" girl and then briefly a "sO fUcKiNg HaRdCoRE OwO!!!!" emo, I'm still REALLY emo. I'm just really picky haha!
Edie! At The Disco The same thing has happened to me but I still listen to TØP... I just hate the fan base.
Emo wise I do enjoy bands like Pierce the Veil, but Ive always been more into the angry nu metal scene with bands like Korn, Deftones, etc.
New Seven on Sunday Idea if you haven't done it yet
7 Overrated Singles by Bands You Love?
Not a bad idea at all personally mine would be:
Mine would be
7. Uprising - Muse
6. Sugar, We’re Going Down - Fall Out Boy
5. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
4. What I’ve Done - Linkin Park
3. The Pretender - Foo Fighters
2. Enter Sandman - Metallica
1. I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin
The Great Sloth Lord i feel like thats a good list. I noticed those singles are overrated in the mainstream
7: Knights of Cydonia by Muse (elitists claim you're a fake fan if you like their popular songs but treat this like Bohemian Rhapsody. Couldn't get into it,.)
6: Good Riddance by Green Day (hear me out John)
5: Shape of You by Ed Sheeran (and it's fucking shit)
4: Creep by Radiohead (duh)
3: Paradise by Coldplay (not a bad song but it pisses me off when this is the only song Coldplay #fans' know. This and Yellow)
2: Ruby by Kaiser Chiefs (I get it's their most popular but it ain't their best)
1: Numb by Linkin Park (forgive me, it's good but not great)
The Great Sloth Lord Surprised you put Feeling Good out of all Muse songs, I feel most fans completely disregard that one. The others are just their most popular so I see where you're coming from.
7 best Live shows you’ve seen
Grew out of every edgy band that I listened to when I was 13. Black veil brides the most prominent example.
Aster i agree so much it HURTS
30stm sadly, for me. It's really sad to see the decline of this band to be honest. I've listened to them for over 10 years but for the past few years all they've done (or lack thereof) has been disappointing. I really don't know what they're waiting to just quit it all at once because they've clearly ran out of ideas.
Liliana Maria true AF. And it's sad. 7 years ago I was sooooooo into them, I even have "Provehito in altum" tattoo) Now they are not good at all, to say the least. But The kill will always be my fave, it's awesome)
Sapphire Middleton same here. I was going to see them in April but the show got postponed and I decided to sell my ticket. I'm done with them.
Liza Kolganova yes, the kill will always be my jam :)
I thought 311 was maroon 5 for a sec
I thought America was by Maroon 5 for a second
They grew out of being good
OMFG 😹
I dumped that "outgrow" thing and started to like my teenage idols again. No shame.
I love that comment
These Artists not just bands for Me:
- Sleeping With Sirens (First Two Albums are Awesome, rest is mehh)
- Escape The Fate (Self Titled still holds up)
- Falling In Reverse (ehh Ronnie's too much)
- Black Veil Brides (Good Guitar Solos)
- Skrillex (Still Jam to Bangarang)
- Owl City (First Album still holds up)
- Good Charlotte (ehh)
- Five Finger Death Punch (ewww)
The ABacross but but Owl City's new album is amazing
I can mostly agree but I personally enjoyed FFDP first album The Way of the Fist but after that...ewww...
The ABacross I agree. I used to love escape and considered them a favorite of mine but the new album leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like it’s written for a much younger audience than me.
I find sleeping with sirens really annoying don't hate me please.
SWS's newest album, How It Feels To Be Lost, is actually a lot similar to their old stuff from their first two albums. And I gotta disagree with that pick, as with FIR, but I can agree with the rest lol.
It's amazing what a joke 30STM has become as of late...
funny how coverkillernation did the opposite topic for a video at the very same time
I just got finished watching that one, haha so coincidental
robiu013 oh shoot you’re right xD
Omg I love coverkillernation
-Most 2000's pop-punk (Exception: Green Day)
-Papa Roach
If anything there's more bands that I'm grateful I didn't have a phase for in my tween/teenage years than those I actually ended up going through.
Electra Heart by Marina and The Diamonds was a better character driven album in my opinion.
damn shitted on her. i think shes over cause of the rape thing...idk that was career homicide
I still like a good bit of their pre-hiatus stuff thought)
The 1975 (a lot of their lyrics started to sound really cliche to me like they were all just quotes stolen from tumblr)
-Twenty One Pilots (they have become too cringy, toxic fan base, lack of new music)
-Simple Plan (way too generic and unoriginal)
Good Charlotte ( same reasons as Simple Plan)
Good Charlotte is a big one for me too, it was such a weird obsession for me. I don't know what I was thinking then lol.
Childish Gambino's did in one song what 30STM couldn't in a whole album
Have you done a list were it's where you used to hate a band, but now like and listen to?
The Awesome Channel he did one like that with songs
I still unashamedly like Lifehouse haha, although I completely understand your points. It's mainly a nostalgic thing for me. Everything is still to this day one of my all time favourite songs.
i feel the same with 30stm ive grown up with them and also grown to hate them. i saw them live in 2013 and that was it for me. they were so bad and i had been listening to them since 2009. i havent even heard there new album i just know it is bad.
Yeah Good Charlotte is a tad cringe now.
I agree. I'm now 22 and still listen to TY&H here and there.
band i outgrew: maroon 5
Nive Ashok misery, payphone and maps were their last good songs, i "retired" them in 2014
I think they lost their credibility sometime around 2010-2011, but I was able to somewhat enjoy all hands over, overexposed, and V. however, everything they've released since 2016 (besides what lovers do and help me out, i kinda liked those songs) i've not been a fan of.
Nive Is Unicorn Fluff same
i still like some of Disturbed's older stuff, but anyone who says Their Cover of Land of Confusion is better than the original (even though i like the cover) i will have to fight, but yeah, i don't think i've listen to anything new from them since.
Two Door Cinema Club shirt :)))
30 seconds to Mars I got over quickly and definitely maroon 5 I can't stand anymore
Blink, offspring, alkaline trio & misfits & metallica are bands i can never outgrow theyre timeless for me.
#1- Everclear
#2- Limp Bizkit
#3- Filter
#4- Paulina Rubio
#5- Brad Paisley
#6- Creed
#7- Blur
CREED?!😂
PAULINA RUBIO LMAO NO TE METAS CON PAULINA
Short Bus is a classic..
Bands I grew out of: Nickleback, Five Finger Death Punch, 30 Seconds to Mars, Lifehouse, Good Charlotte, 3 Doors Down (though I still like a few of their songs), Maroon 5, Plain White Ts, and Daughtry.
I just realised how much the pink cover for 30 Seconds To Mars' 'America' looks like Kasabian's '48:13'
"Jared Leto Ego Experience" Loved it :D :D :D
30 Seconds to Mars's debut album shocked me how good it is. I only knew them for "This is War", "The Kill" and "ATTACK". It blew me away and I'm so disappointed that's the sound they dropped.
I used to be in love with Bring Me The Horizon, My Chemical Romance and Fall out boy. I was your stereotypical emo girl.
Now I listen to Highly Suspect, a band called WOWH and that's pretty much it, I'll listen to Kasabian or Jeremy Zucker every now and again or post-traumatic by Mike Shinoda.
Peanut butter and jelly
Bacon and eggs
Coffee and cream
*Jon and the Fuse Channel*
Thirty Seconds to Mars broke my heart when they released America.
I outgrew Fall Out Boy. Not a popular statement I assume. But, I fell in love with them in second grade, and started falling away from them at about 14. And I’m 18 now.
Diehard 311 fan here. Your treatment of them in this video was very fair.
Haha nice topic!! Never thought of it but I think 30stm would be the first I would mention
I used to love those crappy christian rock bands. I cringe thinking about them now.
Adam Kelly nice! I’m just getting into them, but hearing that makes me want to check them out even more
Audrey Horne While I see where you're coming from, Anberlin still holds up.
And I'll never get tired of Down with the Sickness :D
As for myself I tend to hang onto bands always thinking they'll get better, the only one I can name for certain is Fall Out Boy and maybe to a lesser extent Creed. I am sure there is more but I have so music I cannot be bothered to rummage through it all lol.
Here is one artist I outgrew: Taylor Swift.
My analysis/opinions of the bands on this list:
#7 - Don't hate these guys, but I never really got into them.
#6 - Same as above
#5 - I still love plenty of these guys' material, but they're more of a singles band for me.
Disturbed is one of my favourite bands, and I loved Immortalized. The Light is probably my favourite song from the album.
Jon, there's this amazing folk band called Calan, and you HAVE to see them next time they tour America. They are AMAZING live.
Pierce the Veil
Sleeping with Sirens
Lana Del Rey
Marina and the Diamonds
Melanie Martinez
No offense if any of y'all are fans. (Don't come after me please.)
Even though I heavily outgrew Hollywood undead from only listening to them everyday, I still listen to them but now I listen to a lot of other music. I still like them though.
2:06 it’s called ska
Great video! For me, the bands I used to love but now completely grew out of are Five Finger Death Punch, Parkway Drive, Slipknot, and 30STM.
Been listening to Hollywood undead since Swan songs still haven't not liked a record they put out there a revolutionary band for me immaturity and violence is the best kind of music for me
here is a long list of bands I grew out of
Fall Out boy
Panic! At the disco
all time low
Green day
imagine dragons
x ambassadors
killers
gorrilaz
skillet
three days grace
and foo fighters
Damn. I grew out of All Time Low and never liked 3DG or Skillet, but other than that, I still love all of them. Could you tell me some bands you're into now? I'd be interested to know how your taste has changed.
Ja'Crispies well these are bands I got into when I was first starting out with music nowadays it's almost all Heavy metal
here's a list
metallica
pantera
Lamb of God
avenged sevenfold
overkill
exodus
Dream Theater
epica
nightwish
obituary
skeletonwitch
kreator
bathory
havok
slayer
opeth
cannibal corpse
candlemass
queensryche
sabaton
einsiferum
basically anything within the metal spectrum.
I've noticed a lot of these bands (and similar ones) are phase-oriented
Killers are still awesome
anonymous commenter but the Foo Fighters are actually good
The best part of coming home after having to go to church!
Disturbed is one of those bands that I keep expecting to grow out of. I don't know why, but I still dig 'em.
I don't give a shit I will scream Hollywood Undead to the top of my lungs when I'm 60
Even if you've outgrown 311, I'd recommend giving the Transistor album another listen, it's anything but "shallow" and "simplistic."
I've not listened to any 311 songs before, but every other band you talked about, totally my list also.
YESSS love your videos!
Bands/artists I grew out of:
Boys Like Girls
Owl City
30 Seconds To Mars (i rooted for these guys but from LLF+D onward, it’s just not great anymore)
Bastille
Simple Plan
Of Mice & Men
I still love disturbed and hollywood dead. I can agree that disturbed last album wasn't their best, but i still enjoy them.
The only music I really outgrew was the music I listen to as part of my RUclipsr music phase that lasted from 2017 to 2018. I obviously can no longer go back and listen to those songs. Additionally, there are a couple country songs that came out around the same time period that I also can no longer go back and listen to.
Love your videos, Jon! Keep em coming!
Limp bizkit. Saliva. Dope. Three bands that as a teen i loved them. Now i might listen one song once every blue moon or so.
HU will never top 'Notes from the underground'
Still looooooove California Dreaming.
I outgrew Simple Plan and Falling In Reverse
Edit: Oh gosh Good Charlotte too
I have a few: Breaking Benjamin, Bullet for My Valentine, Florida Georgia Line (I really liked their debut album and then I got bored of them shortly their after), Train
i'm totally over Hollywood Undead
*riff from Young starts*
*rips shirt screaming*
Hollywood Undead is still my favorite band and I have realy good memories with this band as well...
you going to review the cinematic album by owl city
You were wearing the same cap in the Lifehouse clip
I’d say I outgrew You Me At Six, but I barely realized that I wasn’t actually as into them as I thought I was back then.
Some bands that I used to love that I outgrew are
-Black Veil Brides
-Sleeping with Sirens
-Pierce the Veil
-Falling in Reverse
-Escape the Fate
-Hollywood Undead
-All Time Low
It's not that I don't respect or enjoy certain songs or even the band as a whole, my taste's just changed. I think a lot of them are great for first getting into modern bands but as I got older their music just didn't resonate as much with me.
You should do a review on “The Longshot” Billie Joe Armstrong’s new side band.
Disturbed used to be my all-time favorite band... Then I fell in love with Blink 182... Then fell out of love with Blink 182 and discovered Brand New... Great band. So amazing,
The way you talk about the songs of Lifehouse 😂😂😂😂Hilarious
That’s why I don’t feel the whole rebellious/badass thing. Just normal music for me
I use to love Simple Plan and The All American Rejects and now I just don't listen to a single song from them.
It happens every few years)
Queens of the stone age are a band I used to love, but just can't get into anymore... not sure why though
