Just watched Oh Mr. Porter and then found this, absolutely brilliant. I love the films from this era, proper humour and real funny actors. Sadly long gone now.
It's Bill's anniversary today, he died on this Easter Monday 1949 age 60 . Bill was his own man and he was some man for one man. He was brilliant, talk about timing it was perfect. Funny is a understatement his two wingmen were also perfect. They all complemented one another super allrounders. 👌🏻☘️
Still making us laugh today after all these years. How many of today's so called, comics will be remembered and loved as Will.I recall cosy afternoons off school. big bag of sweets laid on couch, laughing like crazy.Real treasures, i never get fed up of watching. thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for the upload elviskline99 - I've been a massive fan of Will Hay for years and didn't know this radio show existed!!! Always great to hear tales of one of the most talented men that Britain has produced!. I'm sure lot's more Hay fans will stumble onto this over the next few weeks and months, and be as chuffed as me!
i have read both books on will hay and his private life and was disappointed to find he was not the man i thought he was. albert and harbottle provivde all the warmth in their films together. on his own that warmth is missing. many said at the time he was admired for his acting but was not loved like some other actors of the time. i liked his 2 early films (vicar and jp) and when the 3 are together the rest including ealing stuff are watchable without the magic, my fav is windbag and then porter. i have all his films bar apples and playmates and enjoy watching his films but you will not see them much on mainstream tv 1 being b and w, 2 because they do not reflect todays population mix

If you're on facebook come over to the Will Hay Appreciation Society pages. Lots of great info shared by members.
Not a lover of facebook, but might just have a look. Thanks for the invite.
Really lovely to hear this and even more wonderful it was presented by Ronnie Barker!

Very good at astronomy and a good pilot,He was on the brains trust during ww2 as well.
Great to watch. He really was great. What is little known about him he was fluent in Latin and translated ancient texts too. R.I.P Mr Hay
I mean it as a great compliment when I say that Will Hay could have made it as a comedic actor today, his timing was sublime.

Completely awesome find. Very interesting indeed.
love this thank you for putting this up
simply brillllliant
Great Actor. From the same Street as my Mum.
He was easily the funniest British comedian of the 1930s and 1940s. Will Hay's comedy still has a loyal following.
Think Stan Laurel was funnier
