Community servers had a lot of childish rules. Admins act like they rules you and not the servers. One time, I see a toxic anky slams everybody on kos (who was a admin)… When i go to punish him, he ask the whole server to kill me with is color chat line. Now i stay in officials. I spent more time to be adult but i dont feel is useless… It is more a survival game.
In community server I play, there is semi realism rules, passive growth based on dino's tiers (raptors are 1h and apexes are 6h for example) with 30% death penalty. For me this is perfect mix. There is dinos that are easy to grow, but also those dinos you really have to grind. And loosing 30% of your growth is scary enough for people not to be too reckless. So the server is perfect for me :) We do have some mods but all dino stats have been changed to balance the roster. Islander Semi-Realism server is the name
I think it's all about balance, mods are fine, as long as you know which to pick. I mostly have a problem with these fantasy mods, which do not represent real dinosaurs. The same for growth, I prefer passive growth as in the isle. some servers also have different grow times for different creatures. I think it's important to have much longer grow times for larger creatures, to kinda combat everyone just playing Rexes and encourage players to play some smaller dinos.
the one rule i love is body down. as much as peeps pretend to use realism as an argument, even in official servers predators don't just kill things, they only hunt when hungry and if there's already a food source then they will eat it, and protect the corpse until it's too rotted to eat from anymore
Well, think of it like this. Animals like Tigers would attack you on sight because you're in their territory, food source, or a potential rival trying to steal their mate away/kill their young. Just a very aggressive predator. Now, why wouldn't a trex behave that way? They will attack you because they might not eat again etc

Animals do NOT fight just to fight and they do NOT fight for trivial little reasons like not liking the way a triceratops looks in your garden. 99% of the time, the ONLY reason a predator kills is so it doesn't starve to death in the near future. Smashing other big dinos is fun, and this is a video game, but the reason why realism servers exist is because carnivores aren't stupid and smashing themselves into other dangerous animals may (and will) kill them. I'm totally not saying you can't play the game the way you want to play it, and you can make the territorial argument in /some/ situations, but at the end of the day you're not roleplay or trying to be realistic, you're trying to make big dino fight big dino. Which, to be clear, is completely okay; but don't try to twist having some PVP or ganking some young dinos into "well, technically a dinosaur might do that potentially." Typically people gravitate toward realism servers when they're tired of dying over and over to people for no reason and they want a shot to make a dino in relative peace. So if you're the type of person who likes to RP a dinosaur to the point where you're territorial or looking for mates etc. then you really should try keeping the RP in your head and just smash people on official servers, as realism servers are REALLY trying to get away from that behavior.
@@eewweeppkkHunting young animals is exactly what predators do when given the chance, though. Unless it's way too small and fast to be worth the effort an animal will choose to hunt a baby over hunting an adult because it's easier.
I have mix feelings for official severs. On one hand, the official for me anyway, I like the progress that I would make with the dinosaurs but at the same time it also takes too long to grow and it gets boring so quickly. And then the mixpacking, my god the mixpacking on official, like I have to be extremely cautious who I’m hunting cuz if I see a defenseless small stego I’m gonna eat it but out of nowhere here comes a huge army of rex and herbs working together to get me or being tracked down by mixpackers as well. It’s Hard for me to enjoy the game when everything is against me and growing is just bad.
Bro you literally experience the same thing as me man. Like if official servers banned mixpacking it would be the best server by far. Because I know it’s the official server for me it’s more rewarding when I finally achieve adult then on a community server. I also can always play official where community servers get blocked up a lot. One thing that’s good about community is the rules but that’s only if the admin take action against rule breakers which I don’t see a lot of tbh
For the Home Cave debuff it would be nice if it wasn't so difficult to reach some of them that wrap around cliff sides or at least account for slower dinos making their way up by increasing the time before the debuff hits. If you're playing a sarco for example and you're logging off at a HC on land, you better believe you're gonna have the debuff before you even reach the entrance. Maybe just apply the HC debuff if you enter PVP around the proximity of the HC instead to deal with faster campers?
Been trying semi realism servers and for some reason, people love tragic death penalties, which you can die as an adult and go back to a quarter of juvenile. I remember I had some good fights on Simply Jurassic and I wasn’t hellbent on hiding because the growth loss wasn’t that much. It just made things a lot more fun for me personally.
It took me forever to grow my t rex to adult, on official server. So many times, got killed by other t rexes, or other dinos just for existing there. I now help other dinos to grow, now that I am an adult t rex.
I play on both Official and Community, and there's 2 sets of Community servers I recommend to everyone. 1: Primordial Titans #2 and 3 = A community server with NO rules, and usually if 2 is full, 3 always has half amount of players. Easy to grow, just be careful around Quill and Crater. Grove is usually THE Best place to grow. 2: Of course, ISLA NYCTA. Nycta has actually good mods, and the only people I've seen break rules, were literal children saying they didn't need to follow any rules. I honestly feel bad for those mods, since they are really good people, and sometimes people forget that. They are people too. Overall, if you want the old official style gameplay with GIGASPEED growth, go Prim. If you want the best Semi Realism server around, go Nycta (Best hours to get in is very late at night/early morning EST.)
@@geraldinebs2785 Both of these Servers Support the Primordial Titans mods, however the there's a trade off. Primordial Titans servers has Utahraptor and a couple other modded Creatures, and a quest gives 2-10 minutes of growth. Nycta however, is much more balanced. I recommend their Discord to see their rule-list. Nycta has increased passive growth, so you don't need to do quests for. Better growth. It helps doing quests, but on Nycta you don't have to.

Isla Nycta rules have always felt like a lot. It could just be that I’m overthinking the rules and their actually quite simple to follow, but it does seem like there is too many to the point it’s overwhelming.
@@forthelolz1121 There are other servers that have more rules. Obsidian and WWD are realism servers, and they have more rules. Nycta is much more easy going than those two.
Neither is better, i would always suggest starting off on official to get a good raw taste of the devs vision of the game, then try different community servers and find out what kind works for you. After that, play what ya want.
I dunno, I may recommend to friends not to even bother with official servers. The biggest reason being the agonizing growth and unvetted freaks that reside there. Its a game about 'survival' but mostly about playing around with dinos. If one of my friends got this game so they could play around with some dinos, I wouldn't want them to go to an official which will take them more than a day most likely to get an adult or decently sized sub adult...and then hopefully they like it or they must start all over. Its a totally personal thing, but I would recommend official servers more if there was ANY type of passive growth or less punishing penalties for being in the wrong place at the wrong time/running into mean people. In a more well-designed traditional MMORPG, the leveling process takes a while so you can slowly learn your character more and more as you unlock new and stronger abilities. Thalassadromeus has one active which is called "bite". I do not need to spend 5 hours of holding Q on top of pinecones to figure out this class's mechanics...
Literally nobody wants to quest JUST to grow. Community servers or nothing at all. The vision the devs have is ass... just straight up.. there vision is Dino running Sim with SOME combat sprinkled in its garbage.
I got banned from the owner on dinohub because the owner herself was on a power trip. She was walking around in godmode killing people (including me, even while I was hiding she would kill me since she had our name tags on). When I called her out for it she perm banned me. Such a pathetic human being.
Big thing to note about mods and balance in general, server owners can change nearly every stat so balance can be really good or really bad based on if they mess with stuff as well
Yea it’s a fun accomplishment to get all the way too adult it just needs to be more engaging other than (collect 50 acorns) (kill 3 platys) etc. if quest where creature specific like marking territory and has an actual effect on the world it would be incredible.
I love official, and don’t want to move to community servers. I do wish they sped up growth, or made quests easier/faster because growth is way too slow. Maybe a very very slow passive growth as well. I love the mindset that you have when in official, always cautious of other dinos , trusting no one except yourself, and I find it loads of fun. This is off-topic, but I am so hyped for nesting. Just imagine the baby megs or suchos ❤
Personally i only play on official while being very aware of all the problems and toxicity it can have , i dont go on community servers thats much because almost all of them requires you to join their discord if you wanna learn the rules etc ! im a shy and introverted person and joining a group of people i dont know makes me unconfortable , and even if i learn the rules etc im always afraid to do a mistake because well we are humans its normal to do errors and so i dont wanna be kick because of something i dint know i did worng and never meant to do it and since some admins can be very strict so yeah...
I was on the teutonic vanilla with my struth and a baby allo and baby spino rulebreak and atacked me. I kill the allo but he reported me for kos and but I was self defending! Oh and no admin came to stop those 2 from rulebreaking.
The only community servers I like are WWD and Isla Nycta. Divine Beasts is pretty decent too, but they have some dumb rules. Edit: also touching on the statement you made about how people don't spread out enough on community servers, I think it all depends on what server you play on because WWD and Isla Nycta is the complete opposite. You will find players anywhere on the map.
The main reason I don’t play community servers are because being from Australia 🇦🇺 combat on other servers is way to laggy and there’s Next to no Aussie servers.
Official servers get dogged on way too much imo, as a new player I much prefer official. However I just wish there was a tiny bit of passive growth, but not too much because my biggest worry is actually growing all the Dino’s too fast and now there’s literally nothing else for me to do in the game
Community is leagues better. It seems like half of y'all just join crappy servers. Arazoza, Isla nytca, and meso are all good servers that have multiple servers to play on. They have full (some do) dino profiles with rules, tips etc. All well run and have good admins all you have to do is record if someone rule breaks (any console now adays can record so you can't make an excuse) and they even offer regrows have events like para saur migration etc. Y'all just need to find a community servers that's fit for you. There's anything from pvp to semi realism all the way to actual realism. There's even servers that are played like official but just have better mark gains, passive growth etc.
I actually like the slower growth. I enjoy a different aspect of survival. I enjoy the thrill of having to be very careful and trying to survive as a baba. Maybe a teeny tiny bit of passive growth.
Homecave camping debuff also gives a brutal speed penalty, so nothing will be able to chase you down. Honestly with official, I like that its randomized, bc you don't have to deal with the same toxic people over and over.
I prefer community servers for the rules, mainly body down or no herbi kos (can't count how many times on official servers I've been trying to grow and had a gang of herbis roll up on me and just kill me unprovoked) or of course no mix packing, some are fine with any carni with any carni just no mix diets
I much prefer community, ive grown on official and I just don't have 6/8 hours to grow one dino between work. I dont like crazy passive growth but just enough to help me grow slowly is nice/more realistic feeling to me if I'm in between quests. Or if I want to quickly test out a creature amd see if I like it community servers with lots of fast growth are a good way to see that! I dont really like or play this game for pvp as weird as that sounds, I don't hate pvp as it's apart of any survival game but it's simply not what I'm here for. So hopping on a good semi realism community server w friends and running all around the map to explore and enjoy the sights are my favorite things to do, wether i actually run into another player or not simply doesnt factor into my enjoyment. Im indifferent about it i guess. I'm just happy to be with my friends. I also love seeing how creative the modding community is, modding can keep a game active long after the devs stop updated ( not that pot devs are slowing down ) , but I love how supportive they are of the modding community 💖
I 100% agree, its so much more immersive with pvp on official servers. Also there is no problems with people bunching up at the crater. I seen lots of complaints about that but its a modded server only problem and usually for the impatient pple that mostly want deathmatch
i like community over official since theres rules your baby sucho wont just die to a adult sarco camping water. or how theres a body down rule cause it lets the herbis a break from being killed for a bit for a sacrifice of a member. sovietwomble makes very good points on his video about the isle and how rules can be beneficial. though if the admins are trash the rules can still be abused
I pretty much agree with everything you said and if they did that to official servers it would be the best for me. People being spread out would make for more actual pvp situations vs. Pvppppppppp situations lol
@@spooky7137 Hard agree was a juvie pycno on official and constantly got kos one time around home cave by 3 carnie adults including a sarcho that one shot me with bite. So very annoying with the snails pace that is growth.
There is always a way to counter mix packing, same with KOS if so they wish. For mocpacking they can simply give debuff to both carnivores and herbivores if they stay on close proximity of the opposite for amount of time. Also I don’t think different carnivores should group up, or different herbivores. And with specific groups they can make it that if they inhabit the same area for long time together they would have to find the other one and challenge them for zone control otherwise debuff. For KOS if you’re at full health and you kill herbivores or juvi, adolescent that have not attacked you - sluggish debuff because you’ve overeaten technically. This will promote carnivores actually stalking their pray until their food meter drops to 2/3 for example and actually gives feeling you’re playing a dinosaur and it’s not just a Fortnite with lizards
I personally prefer community servers especially ones with passive growth and marks as my gripe about all the versions of play is if you unlock a ability & you make another of the same creature you abilities aren’t saved for that species so you have to risk (especially on official which is absolute pain as something like sarco or a full aquatic like Kai) traveling in unsafe zone where you can die from not having any safe areas to travel as it could easily kill you with fall damage so trying to re earn these marks when trying a different build is hell to do add this where you have to do quests to grow when you can be heavily targeted and kinda screwed on land where most the quests will be definitely makes you vulnerable so I usually tend to stay to realism server that have both if I find out they do as those ones can be really fun especially when I want to enjoy life as a modded dino (which official doesn’t allow) or as a dino I paid for (like sarco)
I didn't know you got rid of your server. 😮 I know that I had left it (nothing personal amigo) because some IRL friends got the game and they weren't ready to branch out to community servers so I was mainly helping teach them the game. Then Gondwa came out... Your server was definitely my: "Do I feel like a 'Roadhouse' type of PVP experience?" I played on Velocci's Realm when I wanted a chill mostly PVE experience (the 5x growth made playing some Dinos alot better. It wasn't overkill as passive growth wasn't on. But it made questing much less dull.) Also the Mods always seemed friendly and understanding. But I never broke the rules so... =/ However, while Questing on Official is insufferable. I just prefer Official, feels more real tbh. Avoid the center if your young, stay on the outskirts. Move in once you're bigger, keep low, pick and choose your quests (some aren't worth the risk. Like quests in SLL & LBM)
For a Xbox user like me, I tend to stay away from community servers because sometimes I would have to install the mods and that can take ages to do but when I get the chance to play it, I don’t enjoy the server so I hop back to officials but I can’t because I’ve got all the mods the community server has installed so I have to close my game in order to get back on officials. That’s why I tend to stay away from community servers.
Personally I’d rather play on official servers. However the growth system in this game is kinda off setting for me. I know they have plans to fix some aspects of it which I’m looking forward to seeing but right now it is not enjoyable. I feel like growth in general should be always happening, with boosts from quests and killing others. Not a crazy passive growth but something. I’d also like to see modded dinosaurs on officials but, AD should go at mods with their own guidelines. They have the say for making the modded ones more logical and not ridiculous like some are. That way you can still play a modded one not just on community ones. And community servers, a lot are rule heavy and for me that’s not fun all. I want to play the game not have a guided policy of what I can’t do beside me while I try to play. Officials I like more overall because it’s the way the game is more or less intended to be.
Maybe they could have a official server where you could choose modded creatures that the devs chose for that server. Also maybe the modded creatures would rotate every month or so.

I don’t like community servers cuz the one time I played on one I got my growth taken away and kicked cuz a herb wouldn’t get away from me and I was apparently mixpacking when someone attacked me and I fought back and won. The herb didn’t even help me either. The admins are just power crazy
I personally prefer official. I have honestly made quite a few friends on official servers and I enjoy the grind a lot. It’s a lot more rewarding to reach adult on official servers because I feel like I really worked for it. Plus there is multiple ways to reach adulthood faster like playing with friends that have the refer a friend link with you or splitting group quests 50/50 or simply taking turns doing 100% of them! Plus no rules is a bonus so I can PvP my heart out with no repercussions. I also just have a meh experience with community servers. Admins favor some players, terrible admins in general, too many rules, too fast of growth, etc. I do enjoy Deathmatch servers if I feel like fighting everything no matter how big or small 😂
I've only played official servers I'm a sarco n my mates a rex taken 3 days to get to sub adult played about 22 hours so far because we kept getting attacked and killed!! Trikes are mean I haven't met a nice one yet 🙏😂 but yeah as a juvi it's so hard to grow I got to my last bar on juvi about 4 times and just kept getting killed! 😅 but it does feel like an accomplishment when you're growing just so disheartening when you run into a trike or rex and their after your blood! I did run into a black rex adult though and he helped us so they're not all bad, but most players aren't to be trusted as I've learnt the hard way 😂
I don’t know what is it with trikes but every trike or Alberta I run into is SUPER aggressive I mainly play Alio and I can’t tell you how many trikes or Alberta have tried to kill me even when it’s clear I’m just there to do quests. I once had a Alberta call me a coward for not 1v1ng him when he’s a full grown adult and I’m still a baby so he’d one shot me.
It really depends on what community server cuz I don't have problems with rules most of the time since I usually play fast growth pvp and chill servers but they can be annoying. But honestly community servers are better in my opinion cuz of 2 things. Mods and server customization (growth rate, tps, marks, etc)
Growing speed is fine for my experience on officials. The problem for me as a solo player is that too many people hang in groups or do mixpacking. I just need some friends in this game to stop complaining about mixpacks but I want to be a solo which is very hard to do with these toxic people
I try to play with others, but I hate it. You get in a party chat and all of a sudden everyone wants to talk politics or bs... I like politics, but I just wanna play the damn game!
I like to play on semi-real community servers whit some rules and a bit of passive growth. The oficial sometimes is a bit toxic, and it takes a lot to grow, just to be atacked for no reason. I don't dislike the free for all aspect but I don't have time for it. And I like to play whit theri mod. The server I play have some rules, really nice ppl and the admins are cool.
Community is where I go to for a more realistic experience Nat Hist has a ton of people on it and you don't have mixed packing or 10 rex in a group. You can still kill whatever as long as you are hungry.
I would play official servers more if growth was a bit faster because I work fulltime so don't have much time to put in the amount of hours that it takes to grow
Biggest issue at the moment on official is: As an adult you can grief everyone, then get kill then do 3 to 4 quest to be back at full ,just make death more punishing the more you grow id say , but yeah megapack will get bigger after so who knows
Some community servers require a password before entering. We can’t get annoying because those are usually the ones with the most players on and I can’t get in because I don’t have a password.
I would like the official servers even though its slow growth but its fun for me you know just gathering surviving where the community its just a whole crap of pvp I like the official severs most in my opinion
The safe zone rule I so bad in my opinion makes the places u fights more small and some ppl I fight now run to a sz if they start to lose and I get a warning
It’s really best to choose community service because they have a lot of faster passive growth that could make path of Titans a little more playable than matchmaking, because matchmaking is seven hours long to grow
Yeah its so stupid I wanna fight not spend 7 FUCKIN HOURS growing. I understand atleast some grind should be in games like this but not 7 hours of growing a individual dino.
Community servers are pretty much for more lazy and rude players while Official servers are the opposite basically. For official servers, if they could add passive growth it could help you grow without doing quests, while doing quests boosts up the progress by 35% or 25%. This could also potentially lead to even more animalistic behaviors of dinosaurs. Who knows, maybe players would start doing courting to gain mates and raise offspring because of this. It could potentially make official servers better than Community servers as well.
i enjoy official servers. but i enjoy being social (not as much talking, but i like being around other people) which is very dangerous if you’re not adult. it took me 3 days to get a sub adult allo because packs of rex’s and ducks kept popping out of nowhere and killing me. just giving up on official for the time being until they up the growth.
I don't really like the dinosaur mods in PoT either, I would prefer, for example, that the Deinosuchus and other creatures were added in the future by the creators of Pot, so that they are not so broken
Lately ive been looking for a good server that incorporates realism but has faster growth and marks but i dont like seeing unrealistic dinos like wyverns and dinos that dont really make sense
Hmmm, i want it to take time to grow, so not too many buffs on growth, but i also want mod dinos, also want no mix pack between herb and carn. No home or way stone camping.
I play both. When I want to survive I play on official, and when I just want to fight I play on community servers. I dont like thing about the community servers are the modded dinosaurs, they are very powerful.
Honestly, I play Unofficial Servers when I want to sit around and do nothing while I grow. Official is still my favorite because despite it taking a while to grow I find I have more fun fighting people when they can't report me to an admin because they are mad I won. I do have to worry about people combat logging though.
I love officials for the no rules and hate it for the same reason. I wish the growth was a little faster especially with the way the community is in offcials. Its REALLY annoying to pick your favorite dino and unknowingly end up on some kinda hit list cuz people hate that dino. Then you get killed and lose like a half hour of progress cuz the quests take so long and give so little, not eben counting travel time to each area, during which you are NOT growing cuz there are no quests.
Realism servers are just annoying for me,I get the idea but god damn having to read multipile wiki pages just to grow one dinosaur isn't what i find fun,not having luck finding servers with rules but not realism rules
some servers are good with annoying rules. one i play i got in trouble because me and my raptor group were “target swapping” despite every time we had to switch a target it was because this group of argents protected them. some servers just have whack rules
The only part of this game i genuinely dont like is people who are in it just for the pvp. I got jumped by 4 adult apexes and kept respawning nearby, getting ganked again, and got dropped from adult to halfway through sub. The love/hate relationship with this game changes every day i swear.
I like officials more. Tbh most community servers are made for people who are fed up of officials. But tbh some community servers are pretty good. Overall tho officials are way better

Mix packing is the most toxic thing in official imo, already been attacked by 3 sarco, a spino, a duck, 2 eotrike, a rex and some pachy at the same time, as a sarco and my friend as a spino we couldnt do anything

If you crying about how slow the growth is, STOP CRYING! People get to have 26+ Dino’s and having them all grown up what’s there left to do and lets say you had the fast growth then went into pvp and find out your skills steady, or you manage to kill another dino, wait there for a minute or two and you will get killed by the same guy different dino that kills your healing dino fast because you wanted faster growth, now you fighting all of them
u forgot one main pros for official and thats servers are much more stable (that means pvp is less annoying cuz there is like much less teleporting in fights for exemaple if teutonic is full u will cry from that teleport bites and so on :D) and to that community srv with power trip admins yeah some are so dumb that when u write your opinion and he does not like that opinion boooom banned (happened to me 2 times) :D

The same for growth, I prefer passive growth as in the isle. some servers also have different grow times for different creatures. I think it's important to have much longer grow times for larger creatures, to kinda combat everyone just playing Rexes and encourage players to play some smaller dinos.
the one rule i love is body down. as much as peeps pretend to use realism as an argument, even in official servers predators don't just kill things, they only hunt when hungry and if there's already a food source then they will eat it, and protect the corpse until it's too rotted to eat from anymore
Well, think of it like this. Animals like Tigers would attack you on sight because you're in their territory, food source, or a potential rival trying to steal their mate away/kill their young. Just a very aggressive predator. Now, why wouldn't a trex behave that way? They will attack you because they might not eat again etc

Animals do NOT fight just to fight and they do NOT fight for trivial little reasons like not liking the way a triceratops looks in your garden. 99% of the time, the ONLY reason a predator kills is so it doesn't starve to death in the near future.
Smashing other big dinos is fun, and this is a video game, but the reason why realism servers exist is because carnivores aren't stupid and smashing themselves into other dangerous animals may (and will) kill them. I'm totally not saying you can't play the game the way you want to play it, and you can make the territorial argument in /some/ situations, but at the end of the day you're not roleplay or trying to be realistic, you're trying to make big dino fight big dino. Which, to be clear, is completely okay; but don't try to twist having some PVP or ganking some young dinos into "well, technically a dinosaur might do that potentially."
Typically people gravitate toward realism servers when they're tired of dying over and over to people for no reason and they want a shot to make a dino in relative peace. So if you're the type of person who likes to RP a dinosaur to the point where you're territorial or looking for mates etc. then you really should try keeping the RP in your head and just smash people on official servers, as realism servers are REALLY trying to get away from that behavior.

I have mix feelings for official severs.
On one hand, the official for me anyway, I like the progress that I would make with the dinosaurs but at the same time it also takes too long to grow and it gets boring so quickly. And then the mixpacking, my god the mixpacking on official, like I have to be extremely cautious who I’m hunting cuz if I see a defenseless small stego I’m gonna eat it but out of nowhere here comes a huge army of rex and herbs working together to get me or being tracked down by mixpackers as well. It’s Hard for me to enjoy the game when everything is against me and growing is just bad.
Bro you literally experience the same thing as me man. Like if official servers banned mixpacking it would be the best server by far. Because I know it’s the official server for me it’s more rewarding when I finally achieve adult then on a community server. I also can always play official where community servers get blocked up a lot. One thing that’s good about community is the rules but that’s only if the admin take action against rule breakers which I don’t see a lot of tbh
Official is a toxic unimmersive cesspool.
Officials would be perfect if they had slightly faster growth and a (somehow) reinforced no mixpacking rule.
For the Home Cave debuff it would be nice if it wasn't so difficult to reach some of them that wrap around cliff sides or at least account for slower dinos making their way up by increasing the time before the debuff hits. If you're playing a sarco for example and you're logging off at a HC on land, you better believe you're gonna have the debuff before you even reach the entrance. Maybe just apply the HC debuff if you enter PVP around the proximity of the HC instead to deal with faster campers?

Been trying semi realism servers and for some reason, people love tragic death penalties, which you can die as an adult and go back to a quarter of juvenile.
I remember I had some good fights on Simply Jurassic and I wasn’t hellbent on hiding because the growth loss wasn’t that much. It just made things a lot more fun for me personally.
I think it's wild that on official servers everything takes the same amount of time to grow
It took me forever to grow my t rex to adult, on official server. So many times, got killed by other t rexes, or other dinos just for existing there. I now help other dinos to grow, now that I am an adult t rex.
I play on both Official and Community, and there's 2 sets of Community servers I recommend to everyone.
1: Primordial Titans #2 and 3 = A community server with NO rules, and usually if 2 is full, 3 always has half amount of players. Easy to grow, just be careful around Quill and Crater. Grove is usually THE Best place to grow.
2: Of course, ISLA NYCTA. Nycta has actually good mods, and the only people I've seen break rules, were literal children saying they didn't need to follow any rules. I honestly feel bad for those mods, since they are really good people, and sometimes people forget that. They are people too.
Overall, if you want the old official style gameplay with GIGASPEED growth, go Prim. If you want the best Semi Realism server around, go Nycta (Best hours to get in is very late at night/early morning EST.)

@@geraldinebs2785 Both of these Servers Support the Primordial Titans mods, however the there's a trade off. Primordial Titans servers has Utahraptor and a couple other modded Creatures, and a quest gives 2-10 minutes of growth.
Nycta however, is much more balanced. I recommend their Discord to see their rule-list. Nycta has increased passive growth, so you don't need to do quests for. Better growth. It helps doing quests, but on Nycta you don't have to.

Isla Nycta rules have always felt like a lot. It could just be that I’m overthinking the rules and their actually quite simple to follow, but it does seem like there is too many to the point it’s overwhelming.
@@forthelolz1121 There are other servers that have more rules. Obsidian and WWD are realism servers, and they have more rules. Nycta is much more easy going than those two.
Neither is better, i would always suggest starting off on official to get a good raw taste of the devs vision of the game, then try different community servers and find out what kind works for you. After that, play what ya want.

I dunno, I may recommend to friends not to even bother with official servers. The biggest reason being the agonizing growth and unvetted freaks that reside there. Its a game about 'survival' but mostly about playing around with dinos. If one of my friends got this game so they could play around with some dinos, I wouldn't want them to go to an official which will take them more than a day most likely to get an adult or decently sized sub adult...and then hopefully they like it or they must start all over.
Its a totally personal thing, but I would recommend official servers more if there was ANY type of passive growth or less punishing penalties for being in the wrong place at the wrong time/running into mean people.
In a more well-designed traditional MMORPG, the leveling process takes a while so you can slowly learn your character more and more as you unlock new and stronger abilities. Thalassadromeus has one active which is called "bite". I do not need to spend 5 hours of holding Q on top of pinecones to figure out this class's mechanics...
Literally nobody wants to quest JUST to grow. Community servers or nothing at all. The vision the devs have is ass... just straight up.. there vision is Dino running Sim with SOME combat sprinkled in its garbage.
For me if official had Faster growth it would be the best, i just go to non-officials because i dont want to grow for days cuz i dont have time
I got banned from the owner on dinohub because the owner herself was on a power trip.
She was walking around in godmode killing people (including me, even while I was hiding she would kill me since she had our name tags on). When I called her out for it she perm banned me.

Big thing to note about mods and balance in general, server owners can change nearly every stat so balance can be really good or really bad based on if they mess with stuff as well

Yea it’s a fun accomplishment to get all the way too adult it just needs to be more engaging other than (collect 50 acorns) (kill 3 platys) etc. if quest where creature specific like marking territory and has an actual effect on the world it would be incredible.
The server I've come to enjoy is teutonic 2. The one with mods. The only rules are chat rules similar to officials.
I love official, and don’t want to move to community servers. I do wish they sped up growth, or made quests easier/faster because growth is way too slow. Maybe a very very slow passive growth as well. I love the mindset that you have when in official, always cautious of other dinos , trusting no one except yourself, and I find it loads of fun. This is off-topic, but I am so hyped for nesting. Just imagine the baby megs or suchos ❤

Personally i only play on official while being very aware of all the problems and toxicity it can have , i dont go on community servers thats much because almost all of them requires you to join their discord if you wanna learn the rules etc ! im a shy and introverted person and joining a group of people i dont know makes me unconfortable , and even if i learn the rules etc im always afraid to do a mistake because well we are humans its normal to do errors and so i dont wanna be kick because of something i dint know i did worng and never meant to do it and since some admins can be very strict so yeah...

I was on the teutonic vanilla with my struth and a baby allo and baby spino rulebreak and atacked me. I kill the allo but he reported me for kos and but I was self defending!

The only community servers I like are WWD and Isla Nycta. Divine Beasts is pretty decent too, but they have some dumb rules. Edit: also touching on the statement you made about how people don't spread out enough on community servers, I think it all depends on what server you play on because WWD and Isla Nycta is the complete opposite. You will find players anywhere on the map.
The main reason I don’t play community servers are because being from Australia 🇦🇺 combat on other servers is way to laggy and there’s Next to no Aussie servers.
Official servers get dogged on way too much imo, as a new player I much prefer official. However I just wish there was a tiny bit of passive growth, but not too much because my biggest worry is actually growing all the Dino’s too fast and now there’s literally nothing else for me to do in the game
Community is leagues better. It seems like half of y'all just join crappy servers. Arazoza, Isla nytca, and meso are all good servers that have multiple servers to play on. They have full (some do) dino profiles with rules, tips etc. All well run and have good admins all you have to do is record if someone rule breaks (any console now adays can record so you can't make an excuse) and they even offer regrows have events like para saur migration etc. Y'all just need to find a community servers that's fit for you. There's anything from pvp to semi realism all the way to actual realism. There's even servers that are played like official but just have better mark gains, passive growth etc.
I actually like the slower growth. I enjoy a different aspect of survival. I enjoy the thrill of having to be very careful and trying to survive as a baba. Maybe a teeny tiny bit of passive growth.
Homecave camping debuff also gives a brutal speed penalty, so nothing will be able to chase you down. Honestly with official, I like that its randomized, bc you don't have to deal with the same toxic people over and over.
I prefer community servers for the rules, mainly body down or no herbi kos (can't count how many times on official servers I've been trying to grow and had a gang of herbis roll up on me and just kill me unprovoked) or of course no mix packing, some are fine with any carni with any carni just no mix diets
I much prefer community, ive grown on official and I just don't have 6/8 hours to grow one dino between work. I dont like crazy passive growth but just enough to help me grow slowly is nice/more realistic feeling to me if I'm in between quests. Or if I want to quickly test out a creature amd see if I like it community servers with lots of fast growth are a good way to see that!
I dont really like or play this game for pvp as weird as that sounds, I don't hate pvp as it's apart of any survival game but it's simply not what I'm here for. So hopping on a good semi realism community server w friends and running all around the map to explore and enjoy the sights are my favorite things to do, wether i actually run into another player or not simply doesnt factor into my enjoyment. Im indifferent about it i guess. I'm just happy to be with my friends.
I also love seeing how creative the modding community is, modding can keep a game active long after the devs stop updated ( not that pot devs are slowing down ) , but I love how supportive they are of the modding community 💖
I 100% agree, its so much more immersive with pvp on official servers. Also there is no problems with people bunching up at the crater. I seen lots of complaints about that but its a modded server only problem and usually for the impatient pple that mostly want deathmatch

I like the mods not the fake mods but adding more versatility in what you can play is a plus for me
There is always a way to counter mix packing, same with KOS if so they wish. For mocpacking they can simply give debuff to both carnivores and herbivores if they stay on close proximity of the opposite for amount of time. Also I don’t think different carnivores should group up, or different herbivores. And with specific groups they can make it that if they inhabit the same area for long time together they would have to find the other one and challenge them for zone control otherwise debuff. For KOS if you’re at full health and you kill herbivores or juvi, adolescent that have not attacked you - sluggish debuff because you’ve overeaten technically. This will promote carnivores actually stalking their pray until their food meter drops to 2/3 for example and actually gives feeling you’re playing a dinosaur and it’s not just a Fortnite with lizards
I personally prefer community servers especially ones with passive growth and marks as my gripe about all the versions of play is if you unlock a ability & you make another of the same creature you abilities aren’t saved for that species so you have to risk (especially on official which is absolute pain as something like sarco or a full aquatic like Kai) traveling in unsafe zone where you can die from not having any safe areas to travel as it could easily kill you with fall damage so trying to re earn these marks when trying a different build is hell to do add this where you have to do quests to grow when you can be heavily targeted and kinda screwed on land where most the quests will be definitely makes you vulnerable so I usually tend to stay to realism server that have both if I find out they do as those ones can be really fun especially when I want to enjoy life as a modded dino (which official doesn’t allow) or as a dino I paid for (like sarco)

I played on Velocci's Realm when I wanted a chill mostly PVE experience (the 5x growth made playing some Dinos alot better. It wasn't overkill as passive growth wasn't on. But it made questing much less dull.) Also the Mods always seemed friendly and understanding. But I never broke the rules so... =/
However, while Questing on Official is insufferable. I just prefer Official, feels more real tbh. Avoid the center if your young, stay on the outskirts. Move in once you're bigger, keep low, pick and choose your quests (some aren't worth the risk. Like quests in SLL & LBM)
For a Xbox user like me, I tend to stay away from community servers because sometimes I would have to install the mods and that can take ages to do but when I get the chance to play it, I don’t enjoy the server so I hop back to officials but I can’t because I’ve got all the mods the community server has installed so I have to close my game in order to get back on officials. That’s why I tend to stay away from community servers.
Personally I’d rather play on official servers. However the growth system in this game is kinda off setting for me. I know they have plans to fix some aspects of it which I’m looking forward to seeing but right now it is not enjoyable. I feel like growth in general should be always happening, with boosts from quests and killing others. Not a crazy passive growth but something. I’d also like to see modded dinosaurs on officials but, AD should go at mods with their own guidelines. They have the say for making the modded ones more logical and not ridiculous like some are. That way you can still play a modded one not just on community ones. And community servers, a lot are rule heavy and for me that’s not fun all. I want to play the game not have a guided policy of what I can’t do beside me while I try to play. Officials I like more overall because it’s the way the game is more or less intended to be.
Maybe they could have a official server where you could choose modded creatures that the devs chose for that server. Also maybe the modded creatures would rotate every month or so.
For HC debuff I wish it would have a smaller radius cuz it's very annoying

I don’t like community servers cuz the one time I played on one I got my growth taken away and kicked cuz a herb wouldn’t get away from me and I was apparently mixpacking when someone attacked me and I fought back and won. The herb didn’t even help me either. The admins are just power crazy

I personally prefer official. I have honestly made quite a few friends on official servers and I enjoy the grind a lot. It’s a lot more rewarding to reach adult on official servers because I feel like I really worked for it. Plus there is multiple ways to reach adulthood faster like playing with friends that have the refer a friend link with you or splitting group quests 50/50 or simply taking turns doing 100% of them! Plus no rules is a bonus so I can PvP my heart out with no repercussions. I also just have a meh experience with community servers. Admins favor some players, terrible admins in general, too many rules, too fast of growth, etc. I do enjoy Deathmatch servers if I feel like fighting everything no matter how big or small 😂
I've only played official servers I'm a sarco n my mates a rex taken 3 days to get to sub adult played about 22 hours so far because we kept getting attacked and killed!! Trikes are mean I haven't met a nice one yet 🙏😂 but yeah as a juvi it's so hard to grow I got to my last bar on juvi about 4 times and just kept getting killed! 😅 but it does feel like an accomplishment when you're growing just so disheartening when you run into a trike or rex and their after your blood! I did run into a black rex adult though and he helped us so they're not all bad, but most players aren't to be trusted as I've learnt the hard way 😂
I don’t know what is it with trikes but every trike or Alberta I run into is SUPER aggressive I mainly play Alio and I can’t tell you how many trikes or Alberta have tried to kill me even when it’s clear I’m just there to do quests. I once had a Alberta call me a coward for not 1v1ng him when he’s a full grown adult and I’m still a baby so he’d one shot me.

It really depends on what community server cuz I don't have problems with rules most of the time since I usually play fast growth pvp and chill servers but they can be annoying. But honestly community servers are better in my opinion cuz of 2 things. Mods and server customization (growth rate, tps, marks, etc)
Growing speed is fine for my experience on officials.
The problem for me as a solo player is that too many people hang in groups or do mixpacking.
I just need some friends in this game to stop complaining about mixpacks but I want to be a solo which is very hard to do with these toxic people
I try to play with others, but I hate it. You get in a party chat and all of a sudden everyone wants to talk politics or bs... I like politics, but I just wanna play the damn game!
I like to play on semi-real community servers whit some rules and a bit of passive growth. The oficial sometimes is a bit toxic, and it takes a lot to grow, just to be atacked for no reason. I don't dislike the free for all aspect but I don't have time for it. And I like to play whit theri mod. The server I play have some rules, really nice ppl and the admins are cool.

The reason Giga is so good is because the game has a huge bias to herbis so they wanted something could take them down easy so people wouldn’t greif
Community is where I go to for a more realistic experience Nat Hist has a ton of people on it and you don't have mixed packing or 10 rex in a group. You can still kill whatever as long as you are hungry.
I would play official servers more if growth was a bit faster because I work fulltime so don't have much time to put in the amount of hours that it takes to grow
Biggest issue at the moment on official is:
As an adult you can grief everyone, then get kill then do 3 to 4 quest to be back at full ,just make death more punishing the more you grow id say , but yeah megapack will get bigger after so who knows
Some community servers require a password before entering. We can’t get annoying because those are usually the ones with the most players on and I can’t get in because I don’t have a password.
I would like the official servers even though its slow growth but its fun for me you know just gathering surviving where the community its just a whole crap of pvp I like the official severs most in my opinion
The safe zone rule I so bad in my opinion makes the places u fights more small and some ppl I fight now run to a sz if they start to lose and I get a warning

Yeah its so stupid I wanna fight not spend 7 FUCKIN HOURS growing. I understand atleast some grind should be in games like this but not 7 hours of growing a individual dino.
Community servers are pretty much for more lazy and rude players while Official servers are the opposite basically. For official servers, if they could add passive growth it could help you grow without doing quests, while doing quests boosts up the progress by 35% or 25%. This could also potentially lead to even more animalistic behaviors of dinosaurs. Who knows, maybe players would start doing courting to gain mates and raise offspring because of this. It could potentially make official servers better than Community servers as well.
i enjoy official servers. but i enjoy being social (not as much talking, but i like being around other people) which is very dangerous if you’re not adult. it took me 3 days to get a sub adult allo because packs of rex’s and ducks kept popping out of nowhere and killing me. just giving up on official for the time being until they up the growth.
I don't really like the dinosaur mods in PoT either, I would prefer, for example, that the Deinosuchus and other creatures were added in the future by the creators of Pot, so that they are not so broken
Lately ive been looking for a good server that incorporates realism but has faster growth and marks but i dont like seeing unrealistic dinos like wyverns and dinos that dont really make sense
Surviving official servers at night is like playing the game on nightmare mode. I mean it when I say everybody is trying to kill you from juv to adult
I think they should implement some of the modded Dinos to the official Server but with balanced stats and movesets. So that you get more diversity.
Hmmm, i want it to take time to grow, so not too many buffs on growth, but i also want mod dinos, also want no mix pack between herb and carn. No home or way stone camping.
I play both. When I want to survive I play on official, and when I just want to fight I play on community servers. I dont like thing about the community servers are the modded dinosaurs, they are very powerful.
Honestly, I play Unofficial Servers when I want to sit around and do nothing while I grow. Official is still my favorite because despite it taking a while to grow I find I have more fun fighting people when they can't report me to an admin because they are mad I won. I do have to worry about people combat logging though.
I love officials for the no rules and hate it for the same reason. I wish the growth was a little faster especially with the way the community is in offcials. Its REALLY annoying to pick your favorite dino and unknowingly end up on some kinda hit list cuz people hate that dino. Then you get killed and lose like a half hour of progress cuz the quests take so long and give so little, not eben counting travel time to each area, during which you are NOT growing cuz there are no quests.
I've never once spawned into officials, and always played community, getting rolled by an apex pack hurts a little less with accelerated growth

Realism servers are just annoying for me,I get the idea but god damn having to read multipile wiki pages just to grow one dinosaur isn't what i find fun,not having luck finding servers with rules but not realism rules
some servers are good with annoying rules. one i play i got in trouble because me and my raptor group were “target swapping” despite every time we had to switch a target it was because this group of argents protected them. some servers just have whack rules
The only part of this game i genuinely dont like is people who are in it just for the pvp. I got jumped by 4 adult apexes and kept respawning nearby, getting ganked again, and got dropped from adult to halfway through sub. The love/hate relationship with this game changes every day i swear.

No, but most servers will have their own discord that will allow you to see the rules. Or theyll have rules showing once you join a server.

Mix packing is the most toxic thing in official imo, already been attacked by 3 sarco, a spino, a duck, 2 eotrike, a rex and some pachy at the same time, as a sarco and my friend as a spino we couldnt do anything

Community servers are better only because it has passive growth and you can earn more marks (depending on the server)

I'm more curious about player population. I want to buy it on either Xbox or steam. It isn't on steam charts and I can't see anything on Xbox. Does anyone know about how large it is. Under 10k avg. Above 10k avg. 1k avg players about
i dont know the actual number but youll definitely find populated servers since the game is crossplay

If you crying about how slow the growth is, STOP CRYING! People get to have 26+ Dino’s and having them all grown up what’s there left to do and lets say you had the fast growth then went into pvp and find out your skills steady, or you manage to kill another dino, wait there for a minute or two and you will get killed by the same guy different dino that kills your healing dino fast because you wanted faster growth, now you fighting all of them
Offical is the best IMO.
u forgot one main pros for official and thats servers are much more stable (that means pvp is less annoying cuz there is like much less teleporting in fights for exemaple if teutonic is full u will cry from that teleport bites and so on :D) and to that community srv with power trip admins yeah some are so dumb that when u write your opinion and he does not like that opinion boooom banned (happened to me 2 times) :D
