A very informative video. If you think sellers at car boots are stupid you should see some of the items people list on ebay without seemingly knowing anything about them. The trick is to use search terms and alternative categories that people who don't know what they're doing would use. In April I bought a 14k gold necklace with a 1ct total weight diamond pendant for £2.50! They didn't know what it was and listed it in the costume jewellery category. I'd estimate it's worth somewhere between £800-£1000 maybe more. I used to source from car boots and charity shops for reselling but now I just source directly from ebay. Why spend loads of time wandering around in the cold finding scraps when you can get gold and diamonds delivered directly to your door for peanuts? Knowledge is power.
My favourite is the George Jones jug. Just love the simplicity of it. My best antiquey pick up is a West German pottery piece for £1. It hasn’t sold yet but have 13 watchers so far. Mine is a more common shape, not like the ones you have listed. Love your videos. Could you recommend a book on silver hallmarks?
Alright mate great little video. My best so far is £2 into £55 on a Royal Doulton certified painting print. I'm Sam on the Facebook group btw I put a post up about the coin. Hope all is sweet in the new shop!
Hi Chris. Tbh mate I may have concentrated today’s film just on the cheap items but if you watch my films regular you will see I buy things every week for a pound or two and there are many posts on the Facebook groups showing amazing buys every week
Another Good One, But do you make more sales on ebay or in the Brick and Mortar Store??, and how long it takes you to sell one piece online ?... Some people say that when you are dealing with antiques you have to have a ton of them. because it takes ages to sell them. Thanks
Hi. Thank you for your comment. I sell about 3 to 4 thousand a month on eBay and similar in my shop tbh I have a great deal of stock yes But I tend to spend a couple of hundred on a weekend I sell some and tend to get my investment back pretty quick so working off profits then
