Worst Glue Joint is the One Repaired

  • This was previously repaired and the alignment and fit up were really bad. Someone else tried to glue it and used yellow glue or epoxy.
    This is my 2nd video on breaking apart a PVA (carpenter's glue) joint. If the joint has been done with an exterior rated glue it's a tough go.
    However, whether it's hot glue or epoxy, there is a way. This time vinegar and steam were called for.

    I enjoy watching your videos. You have a wide variety of repairs and techniques. There is a channel from Estonia by a man named Atte. The channel is AT. He also repairs furniture and uses the same techniques as you. He does a great job as well.

    I have always believed it is harmful to add any metal to a wooden joint, screw, nail or fastener. Great job getting that mess apart.
