Nothing extraordinary. Dublin is located at a northern latitude, it is quite cold and a very humid city, so statistically blizzards are more common in Dublin than in other drier capitals of Europe.
@@h.k9697 Not necessarily. More eastern areas get colder in winter even if they are much more south. Istanbul gets about the same amount of snow as Dublin does
I got in trouble with another person who had a video of this same storm with this comment. But I have to say it again. This is nothing, in Western NY, in January this is known as Wednesday.
I would agree with you, Brendan. 👍 2010 brought us 8 weeks of snow, ice and hardship. I remember the water pipes in the houses were frozen for something like 4 weeks. I wouldn't like to have those conditions return again! 🙈 At least Storm Emma only lasted a few days. But the Beast is returning next week I see. 🙁
A country comes to a standstill for a few inches of snow. Goverment need to shske up Councils to many not doing enough and mis managed. Not a sign of any in most areas.. a lot to learn from other countries.
I agree with you, Jonner! 👍😊 County councils here in Ireland are lazy fuckers when it comes to snow and ice conditions!!! 😠 I was in the Baltic States for a few winters, and their local governments can keep the roads and footpaths clear. But in Ireland, it's a totally different story!... and if you live on a minor road in the countryside, you are totally fucked!! 😠 So much for paying the Local Property Tax to keep our roads clear in Winter.
It’s crazy looking back on this x Especially since I lived through it 😂 so many crimes were committed and most of which were because people were starving and had no food so they robbed shops for normal Necessities like bread and milk although it was hard to find any as there was non available ☹️
(Bit late lol)
Beautiful to see Ireland in such rare weather conditions.
I wish it would snow more often :(
The Beast from the East is returning next week, James! 😊
@@COLLIE1972 Thrust me, I know! I can’t wait for a bit of snow 😂
Just unbelievable to see a blizzard going on in Dublin considered to one of the Europe's mildest capital as far as winter weather is concerned

This is quite something. Like a scene from New York City rather than Dublin.
i wish we could have it at least three days a month
You would normally see only these winter conditions in places like Helsinki or Oslo
This is late I know but that night I watched the snow while reading a book lol
I like the video , it is well made. I have been there in some parts
Goliath Mann Thank you Goliath! I wish I had a better mic at hand to avoid wind noises though.
