Thank you for sharing your experience with getting rid of the termites. I wish all the best that you are done with them forever and there will be no further damage to your beautiful house. Greetings from Germany ❤
Hi there, it's a excellent and lovely video, but I'm so impressed with the termites troubles, that almost destroyed their home, every country has a traditional way to built a house, in México we use cement, rod, gravel and sand, but the traditional japanese houses are awesone! 😮
Thanks for the nice video and interesting information. Also like how you say your costs in Euro as I'm living in Germany myself. I hope one day you'll make a video about how you're learning Japanese. 😁
In Australia we do yearly termite treatments. A man comes and sprays a chemical into the ground near the house to prevent them. Do you do have that in Japan?
The craftsman recommended treating the house with pesticides every 10 years. The last ones who did it before us were my grandparents. Probably more than 20 years ago. Maybe we will do it more often in the future. But we treat only the floor below the house, not the ground near the house.

I wish you a great day :)
Here (USA) a chemical for termites & ants that completely eradicates these pest for years is called “Termidor”…..
Seems like it’s also a common problem in the USA as well..🐜
But why even spraying the old tatami if they are thrown out? Because you could have saved the money spraying them I guess. I was just wondering.
dont throw the original tatami, there is no termite eggs unless they already have mounds underneth your house
Thank you for this advice. Do you know a shop where we could buy old tatami? How much do they cost?
