"Not a lot of people run this one" Jesus Christ I can see why. That's one of the most brutal lines I've seen. Also, just one of the most gorgeous areas I've seen.
Its awesome how many drops Charlie Beavers has named after him across the country. "The Charlie Beavers drop" is nameplace from the SE to the NW. Dude was a sick-o in all the right ways, RIP to a legend!!
Sooo good. Beautiful scenery and amazing paddling and great commentary. I most liked the shots where you are scouting and pan the cam down a stout rapid set and then Isaac comes into view with a WTF look on his face. Your films are really good.
I can remember being in the Upper Gualey River 15yrs ago watching you paddle as a young boy. You were on the river and absolutely owning it at a very young age. Our guide actually made the comment you were too young to be on the river by yourself!!!! Boy was he completely freaking wrong!!!
That's one of the most beautiful runs I've seen on anyone's videos. Thanks for trickling out your short Cali season as Winter sets in. Pray for snow. Meant to ask, did Hull get some video of you running some UMK stouts? I liked the two videos Jackson and Ferraro got of Upper Cherry, especially Graceland. Those are good to watch for folks who liked this.
Really enjoying your videos with additional chat and explanations. Your smashing it. Any chance of a tutorial on your carrying system? Plus, do you prefer racing or river running?
Thank you for sharing! That just looks like such a fun run! Those boulder gardens and such blue water, wow! And those views are just spectacular! But yes, that's quite the hike in to get to paddle all of that! Just one expression that I didn't hear before (non native English speaker here): What's a "wheelchair" on the river?
Dane, I have watched a ton of your videos and a couple questions always arise. First is, you have been doing this for a while so I have no doubt about your skillset. Your built in safety checks are commendable and I also want to commend you on how you are always considering the skillset of the guys you bring with you. Great job looking out for everyone. I really enjoy watching your videos, but leaving your POV portions aside, I truly enjoy catching glimpses of how amazing the scenery you get to see. My questions are simple and easy to respond to. First, how do you not sustain injuries to your back? I have only ridden a kayak a couple of times and both times were on a very calm river. So I have no idea what types of impact you endure going over all of the rocks and drops. Second, What additional items are in your custom kayak compared to a boat you get at one of the sporting good stores? For instance, are the seats manufactured differently or installed with a suspension that absorbs impacts? Just a guy who has a really bad back and no clue about professional kayaking.
most of those drop are pretty small and not really hurting your back , to keep your back nice you have to always be in a forwad positions when you hit a drop , and of course doing some workout to keep it nice. Whitewater kayaks have not any kind of suspensions in it , a normal seat with some adjustable backband , footrest , nothing fancy to keep it "light".
@@NargaaaFFA Thanks for the information. I have a R&D department and was curious. We are constantly trying to revise or develop better technologies to improve existing systems to ensure peoples safety and comfort. My son does fishing from a Kayak and we have developed a couple addons that make it easier for him to fish and video at the same time. The guys in my R&D are always looking for new projects so I was hoping to get information from professional kayak riders. I told them to run with it and see what they can develop.
Dude, been waiting for this one.Got in there in 2010 at similar flows.Brought back so many memories!Recognized so many features that I have forgot because most vids are at higher flows and like you said it’s way different. We got passed by Stokesbury and Korbulic on their one day,we were on day 4…You gonna do a one day record time next year?I think you could go sub 17 hours but I’m not sure if the record is to the confluence or to the takeout of garlic.Anyway you could do it if conditions are right. If they have a good snow year and you could get a lap to know the lines,I’m sure you could do a one day.
@@yetigonecrazy They passed us a few rapids above the big bad Beaver. We tried to just jump in behind and follow there lines as they came by but we only lasted 1 rapid. When we got out to portage the beaver,we could see them, already 3-4 rapids below.
I have seen a number of videos on running the Middle Kings, and none of them ever show anything of the 10-mile or so stretch between Cartridge Creek and Tehipite Valley. Is that because there is no significant whitewater in that section? How long did it take you to cover that section?
Do you ever get sick of camping in a tent or vehicle? It's a great thrill to be on the best water in the world, but the down time has to be really tough??

Exactly! Geez that’s some brutal stuff!
Would love to see a complete gear layout of a trip like this! These multi day trips are awesome. Great stuff man.
I love the fact that you seem to be living your best life and you are so stoked about it. Love it. Thanks for taking us along.
24:30 - that's the sketchiest stuff I've seen you do Dane!

I've been trying to get up to Tehipite my whole life, and that's just on foot. Thanks for the tour.
Belta video there Mr Dane Jackson… each video more inspiring than the next… so inspiring I felt the need to swim 3 times today ;)
Man that was so good, I can feel the Stoke! Thanks for sharing!

Stoked to see you’re posting your spring runs man, much appreciated from out here in NZ. hard-ass things to get too, but boy, they deliver. : )
Fabulous scenery, water and paddling. Loved this video and your energy in it.
Made the hike on Bishop Pass but we were looking for boulders to climb. Love that whole area of Cali!
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Dude your videos are amazing! Such an inspiration, keep it up man!
Holy shit! Just the 2 of you!? That was some sphincter puckering video right there. One of your best imo.
Nice lap, thanks for sharing. Good to see you still have the stoke even at lower water. No-portage bottom 9: so rugged!
Awesome video, I am not sure if it gets any better than that.
That is the most incredible mountains.

Absolute pro. Eat healthy on this schedule m8. I kayak open ocean and up local creeks in flood, but what you doing is closer to base jumping 😂👍
Dane - dude can you do a short video on the shoulder system rigging ? Would love to see that
We love you GOAT !!

Ben and Chris are robots, a one day on that is just ridiculous

You could maybe edit some maps with your routes in. It would make following the descriptions a bit easier:).

Amazing!!
@Dane Jackson What watch are you using?
So frickin sick!
How'd you watch this a month ago 😂
Next level savage
How much weight are you packing when you’re hiking in?
What a thumbnail 😍
What are the wheel chairs y'all went around? What is a wheel chair in whitewater terms?
It's where you use your paddle and your hand to push over shallow or dry rock sections.
What was the hike you took through the mountains to get to the river? Epic!
24:45 way to stick with it.
Schöne interessante Tour. Grüße ronactive
Kayaking starts at 12:08
Someone really needs to make shoulder straps for kayaks.
Already done. Check out the Turtle Back from °hf.

I love alaska and hawaii but nothing compares to California
Questionable sharing of testiness around 25:29...how could circumstances make that decent practice?
on 24 minute is paddling like me )
That's so bony and scary.
This is insane
Buy a Walmart kayak and paddle and try running some class V
why the fuck is there a dislike ?
God damn, seeing all those mosquitoes all over your arms made me cringe. I hate those damn things!
