I had some Pork Belly in my fridge so I decided to make a sandwich with it. This Italian-inspired Super Crispy Pork belly recipe is easy and fast (takes only about 2-3 hours). All the flavors are locked inside so the pork belly can be as juicy as possible. I like to spice my pork as I would do with Porchetta, riched in fennel seeds and garlic with a touch of chili. I loved it, Jake loved it (at least the smell of it), and we're all craving more.

This is a very traditional sandwich in my home country of Denmark. We call it a flæskestegssandwich. More traditionally here it's with crispy skinned pork roast (from the back) served in a burger brioche bun with gravy and red cabbage inside.
Depending on who you ask, the gravy is optional, otherwise just mayo, ohh and I forgot the mandatory pickle. Delicious stuff! Highly recommended.

I found skinless pork belly strips 1/2"-3/4" thick at the market so tried with that and it was a hit in my house. Thank you!
One question, would you suggest leaving the meat in the fridge with the spices overnight for a more flavorful taste?

Recipe on website and the one in video doesn't quite add up to the same amount of ingredients. Example the amount of salt 1tsp vs 2 tsp?

I helped open a Sandwich Shop/Cafe with a Friend 6 years ago. I miss making amazing sandwiches. It closed during Covid, so I don’t get to eat them anymore.
Our best seller was a Pickle Brined Fried Chicken on a Bap. But I loved our house cured and smoked Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich.
