because they know that adult collectors who cant move on with their lives, and live when turtles was cool, will snap them up along with any merchandise, empty box, put a turtle face on it and they will buy it. I never see kids with these things its always the sad ass adult collectors emptying the shelves then putting it on their little groups and high fiving each other on their score bruh!!!!

@@tubetop123 right, toys from the 80s, i dont get the need to still buy modern toys, and buy en mass like most of them do, like literally stripping out walmarts, i think its more about insta and FB clout now than actual collecting. Sure I get wanting to own the toys you had as a kid, I'm the same, with turtles as well, but i owuldnt rush out to buy these as they dont give me any nostalgia
@@alexanderkador534 it is because the golden age of figures was 1980s, and the parents of those kids had limited money and only allowed their kids to buy a few figures. Now in 2023 these kids are now old enough to have a steady job, family, so they have more disposable income. So these Dads will now buy everything that they wanted back in 1980s which their parents forbid them to buy. It's really a perfect timing.

I’m crying internally I really miss toys R us I remember hearing they were closing and crying I still remember where it was and I used to play with the lego things there and also the Thomas the train ones for hours good times

Just to let you know is that "crazy looking Batman figure" is actually a Superman/Batman figure. In "Speeding Bullet" storyline Bruce dies in the ally way and Superman's ship crushes the robber and he gets adopted by the Wayans.

Ya the Mutant Mayhem stuff isn't moving at all. The retro line though is definitely a hit. The original 4 turtles that came out first are already selling for like $30 each on ebay all day.
I've been hunting the retro line and at the most there's like 2-3 figures at each store. All while the Mutant Mayhem stuff is 100% stocked literally everywhere.

Those turtle figures are 29 dollars but here in the UK they would be about 15 pound or 10 pounds. Is everything expensive in canada or is everyone just payed well
Our Dollar's Value is weaker than the US dollar, and Toys R Us in general is more expensive than Walmart here.

And those prices are exactly why they aren’t in the states anymore. They are way too expensive.
So I have been collecting for a solid 25 years.... And I still can't wrap my mind around why companies ( really looking at you Hasbro ) that release items like gi joe but really anything for that matter that are really meant for collectors more than kids, why they over produce the shit out of things people might be meh about and underproduce the figures everyone wants. How does a toy company benefit from that? Been scratching my head on this topic for years... What am I missing? Hasbro certainly doesn't profit from the scum bag scalper selling their product for 3x face value. So why? And further more who are Funko pops even for? My wallet would say I sadly collect a wide range of things from gi Joe, star wars and dc and make tons of stupid impulse buys on things out of my wheel house but I wouldn't take a pop figure of any kind of it was free.....
I actually think its exactly that @zforce4399. I think that most figures aimed at adults are in high demand by collectors, and the reason it appears like they have so few is because there are collectors who want to grab 2 or more of them. Leading to shortages. The pegwarmes are exactly that figures that no one wants and they stay on the pegs.
But I know where you're coming from, sometimes I see the same figure over and over again, it can be frustrating!
I wonder if they ever going to do a reissue for gijoe the cobra terror drome and the aircraft boat. They would sell fast.

Toys R Us still exists where you live? Maybe they are closing and that is why everything is on clearance? I haven't seen a Toy store outside of a Target or Walmart in 10 years at least.
They never closed here in Canada, and we're super lucky to still have them. I am concerned that moves like "No Returns" will be a major hit to Toys R Us here in Canada. But at the heart of Toys R Us is Kids, and as long as Kids want toys Toys R Us will still be needed.

Sounds like Toys R Us is struggling if they are have a huge clearance sale and ALL Sales are Final type sale. Wouldn't be surprise if they start closing some of their stores. Them getting rid of a large inventory is not a good sign for any store.
I am worried this ALL Sales FINAL will be really bad for them. But Toys R Us has sales almost every month, so its not uncommon. But they're not Killer Clearances like Target does down in the US.

I'm willing to bet money that the "All Collectibles Sales Final" was the tactful way of saying if you purchase something in plastic free packaging we will not take it back because either 1) you are a scammer taking advantage of the situation, or 2) you are the victim of the scam and we aren't losing money three times on this bad business decision.

Why would u want collectibles or clearance items to be returnable? Lots of scalpers just buy and return. Or buy and replace. Please never return for any item!
Because there can be something better that comes out and u might not want what u bought
The major issue is defects. Sometimes (not often) figures can break when you take them out of the package. Or they're missing accessories. And this has become worse with Windowless packaging. There have even been cases where people have "Swapped" out figures for trash and returned them which is why places like Toys R Us is doing this. But it is a legitimate concern if you were to get either the wrong figure, a damaged figure, or in some cases just garbage when you were expecting a figure which was exclusive to Toys R Us.

TOTALLY JEALOUS, when i was a boy, my friends would ride our bikes to TOYS R US, sat mornings,.. And stay all day, playing video games ,riding the bikes, bouncing on the balls.. widow shopping for big G.I.Joe Vehicles, buying a new TMNT figure.

How can any adult look at toys in a public aisle without some sense of childishness? I know when I do it’s quick search while feeling others around. This guy doesn’t care. He will stay all day long and even film his own experience. Kind of reverse culture shock.
If being ashamed of publicly shopping for toys marketed towards adults bothers you, online shopping is the easiest way to remedy that. After all what kid can afford $35 action figures which they have no attachment to. Why would any child these days buy GI Joe figures? These figures are for adults, and you shouldn't be ashamed to want or shop for them.
But if that truly bothers you, then please stick to online shopping as its safer that way to keep others unaware of your secret love of action figures.

This movie is for kids, and so far kids seem to like it. This isn't a movie for older TMNT Fans.
Hollywood is expiring and their hope for continuing to stay in business is to release more toys in attempt to rekindle enthusiasm. Gimmicky corporations trying to stay in business.
