Thanks so much for putting these videos together, can I please ask, even though these don't need a Building consent, would they still need a Resource consent? Many Thanks,
My pleasure! That is a good question. A resource consent might be required for a building that is closer than the measure of its own height to any residential building or to any legal boundary. Also, depending on the zone, you might need to get a resource consent to connect the downpipes to the stormwater network. Otherwise, there is no need for a resource consent that I am aware of.
Can XPS be used as the wall insulation? I have watched many builders use glass fiber instead XPS in NZ, I am eager to know what is the disadvantages of XPS. Thanks for keeping making such useful videos.
It surely can. It is just not as common as fiber glass. Main reason is it has to be cut very accurate and therefore it is more time consuming. As long as the R-value satisfies the H1 building code, any type of insulation that is Branz appraised can be used.
Legend, thank you so much!
Awesome
