- The plaintiff is suing her former landlord for not returning the entire security deposit to her when she moved out. She says the landlord even thanked her for taking such good care of the unit she and her family lived in. The defendant, however, claims the plaintiff left several broken items at the unit and things were missing, so he didn’t return the full security deposit to her.

He is honestly the most fair landlord I've seen. He didn't over inflate any of his costs. Good guy.
He's a good guy because he didn't try to rip them off really ? That's what you're not supposed to do.
@@perfectlyimperfect9129 That makes him a good guy vs him trying to rip them off and being a bad guy. You just like being contrary, huh?
amazing landlord
word
"I have a one year old, I have a one year old. Get over it" Freaking love it. She's using her kid as an excuse way too often.
Was glad Judge called her on that …..
Most women use that as an excuse.
Lol I wasn't aware that was a valid excuse for stealing and removing stuff from an apartment. I'm about to have a newborn do I get to rob a bank?? Lol
Does she work outside the home ? Omg she must have her husband fooled 😂
Yeah I mean she’s not the only woman in the world who’s has a baby. Hey try having 2 kids and husband leaves you. You have to now move out into a new place alone - also while holding down a full time job. It can be done. Also have to laugh most husbands are the yeah yeah got it kind lol just like the judge said.
he's the most accommodating and detailed landlord I've ever seen. The plaintiff is ridiculous for bringing this to court.
Wait…landlord’s ridiculous?? She’s a piece of…work😄
I totally agree
the looney tenant " I have a 1 year old".. she was a joke..
@@carriepriegel6477He said the plaintiff was ridiculous, not the landlord.
the plaintiff is a straight scammer , she knew that by taking those items then he would withhold a portion of the deposit and then she would try to bring the items back in court and try to sue for double the amount withheld , she thought she was gonna be able to get 800 bucks !
I think her husband said it isn’t worth going to court if you want to go . Go by yourself
Yup
Agreed!
Surprised she found someone willing to marry her in the first place
Husband knows she is ridiculous
totally...
The most efficient landlord. We need ppl like the defendant on the team
This landlord is actually extremely reasonable with his prices. He went to dollars and pennies and had receipts too.
He genuinely seemed like a nice landlord and at least he didnt inflate every thing like most do on this show.
It’s only nickel and diming when you don’t own the house. Someone has to replace those things. Why should it be on the landlord? Having a one year old is zero excuse.
Absolutely true!!! ❤❤❤
She’s just gross 🙁
‼️‼️
Absolutely
I took accountability for the damages when we moved out of the house that we had rented for 11 years. We lost our entire security deposit which is fine. It wasn't my intention to leave the house in the condition it was in when we left. I have since bought a townhome.
The plaintiff’s face when she heard the verdict was priceless. She’s so annoying.
Who takes someone else's shelving? She tried to act like she didn't tell someone to do that and we all know she did. And light bulbs?- What's wrong with her?
As the great singer, Meatloaf, says, “You took the words right outta my mouth!”!
😂😂😂
@@Shellygrrl2573
How ‘bout it? EXACTLY!!!
😂😂😂
Now she can give the hundred dollars to her one year old 😂😂
the husband was to decent of a guy to go to court, she must be a nightmare to live with !
Clark Kent is great landlord
😆
😂 comment of my day
i was thinking the same damn thing!
Oh please…
Ive rented a few different places, landlord at the last place didn't allow pets but he made an exception and let usrent with our small dog no extra deposit. We stayed for 3 years, had an awesome friendship with him, when we decided to buy a house and let him know what was going on every step if the way he tried to get us to stay by lowering rent. He loved us bc we were clean, repaired things, let him know if something we couldn't fix. When we moved we left it spotless and cleaned carpets, walls, cabinets, all he had to do was find the next tenants. Its been almost 5 years since we moved and we still keep in contact.
I want this guy to be my Property Manager! He would be DOPE. Fair, reasonable, no nonsense. Well done.
Everyone says he’s nickel and diming like stuff don’t add up. They should have put the stuff back 🤷🏾♀️
Right? I feel landlord took pity on her cuz clearly their ducks are not lined up 😄
He was super reasonable in how much he charged for each item.
He shouldn't have to eat those costs for the next tenant.
Funny how people say that, but if it were them having to eat those expenses, they'd have a totally different attitude, especially having to clean out a crawl space, which is very annoying to have to do, why should he (the landlord) have to clean up after them simply because "I have a 1 year old" 🥴 that woman acts like it's impossible for her to do anything, bet she's one of those parents who let their kid run around outside with no supervision.
it reminds me of the people who come on the show constantly saying, "im a single mom," like it's up to everyone else to do things for them.🙄
facts, she took his stuff
The landlord should have been awarded 100 percent. Even the 4 hour crawl space.
agreed.
shes a thief.
"😊That's funny, that's my husband's name, too... 🤔🤨 is he gone a lot?" ..... 😂😂😂😂 that was hilarious!
😂
The one year old took the shelving.
😅😅😅
Your pfp is gonna be my nightmare fuel 😮
😆🤣😂
He's got his own place now.
She's blaming everything on her 1 year old. She really thought her defense could be that her 1 year old removed all the shelving, screws, and everything else that was missing 😆😆😆
I hope this experience doesn't make him cynical because he is such a decent guy.
Those of you that are saying that the landlord is cheap or nickel and diming everything have no idea what it costs to get places ready for tenants. He was being very honest in what he deducted. The lady clearly thought this was a house that she owned instead of renting.
the media has created this hate for landlords.. same as the media is going with Trump. Media is destroying the fabric of America.
I'm in pest control and I know landlords get a bad rap but I've seen more tenants trash, not pay for, destroy and squat than I can keep track of. I think tenants forget that landlords aren't making millions on the left over funds after tax, maintenance & turn over. One bad eviction with a petty tenant can literally cost an owner their home.
He asked for the most reasonable amounts he is one of the few landlords I've seen have reasonable withholding
Either this guy got to be an accountant on the side or some type of tax dude, because the amount down to the cent is incredible
If the tenants hadn’t been a-holes he wouldn’t have deducted anything.
I immediately thought accountant, too. He kinda reminded me of Ben Affleck’s character in the movie The Accountant.
Def accountant vibes
This women is exactly what's wrong with society, no freaking accountability....
She’s a pole dancer ..
But she has a one year old!
Woman*
the plaintiff is very annoying.....almost insufferable. The landlord is very very accommodating.
Pray for her husband and the baby.
Watching so many of these, my knee jerk reaction was he’s nickel and diming the plaintiff, but actually it’s the equitable thing to do. Keeping track of what he spent to the penny is better than the wild handwritten “invoices” landlords pen themselves
Surely you can walk and chew gum at the same time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. Can't believe they took hooks and shelves 🤯.Her look at the end says it all
and the wine rack.. shes a thief!
The people in the audience cracking up while JM is giving the plaintiff the business! 😂😂
This episode showed her self I couldn't stop laughing especially when she looked at the woman when she said oh my husband's name is John too...Lmaooooo 😂
She’s absolutely taking advantage of the friendship with the husband and landlord. All those things add up. Why should the landlord have to eat the price ?
12:28 this woman has a one year old and coming to court looking either drunk or super high! She definitely told them to take the shelving it was probably in the baby’s room so she wanted it for the new place!
We just moved with a 2 year old while I was sick and baby was getting over RSV…left house spotless and empty. This woman is absolutely annoying.
Plaintiff: "Let's not nickel and dime everything".......why not???
The Judge made the comment about "being nickel and dimed". However, would it be better if he charged 50 dollars for a broken hook, like most landlords? He was reasonable and only charged actual expenses. He gave them a chance to return the missing items. He shouldn't be shamed for that. Edit to add: Everytime the Judge asks about a missing item, the Plaintiff admitted they took it. Each thing the Defendant took or broke, the Plaintiff agrees the Defendant is right! WHY is she suing this guy?!?
edit :
you mean each thing the plaintiff took or broke..
but yah.. defendant was clearly right here, judge millian should havngoven him the $3O/hr for removing their crawl space trash..
she stole from him.. the wine rack, the shelving, even the hooks in the wall!
oh but l hav a 1 yr old, or the the neighbor did it..
gmafb
@@BEAUTYnIQshe was saying at the end he should have told us, he did, he sent your husband messages asking where stuff was. Your husband just couldn't be bothered to deal with it, same as he lied about clearing the crawl space because he couldn't be bothered. If you don't want to do it you have to pay to have it done! Why couldn't she have picked up the phone and called the landlord and said I think people helping us accidentally took some things of yours when shall I bring them back? Oh I forget she can't do that because she has a 1 year old 😂😂
As a mom of 1, I’d never use that as an excuse.
She's acting like she never stepped foot into that property again, and the shelf and hooks were removed as she was walking out with no return. Having a baby is no excuse to be oblivious, I have 3 kids when we moved and I didn't take anything that wasn't mine.
She doesn't know where the shelves are, she doesn't know who took them, they're "there" and at "the house" meaning the defendants house, but she doesn't need them so she's going to throw them out. 🤦♂
Exactly! How can she throw out that which she does not have or know where they are ...she knows and she has them. 😂
Why wouldn't she give them back when she got the security deposit letter? He put in the letter if she returned the items, he'd refund those portions to them. She was lazy and didn't want to go through the trouble. She'd rather embarrass herself in court, act like having children is a freaking disability, and try suing this guy for double her deposit. I'd hate to live with or be married to someone like that.
Guys, she had a one year old okay? She can’t be expected to make consistent lies when she has a child
In all honesty, he appeared to be a responsible and fair landlord. In my opinion, it was she who was being overly meticulous and petty in her dealings with him.
I have a 1 yr old, can't even wipe my own but cuz I have a 1 yr old...geez
Even her voice is lazy.
I am a landlord and all of these little things add up. However these tenants were there over 18 months, so for $400 bucks of small stuff i would probably let it slide. However the tenants could also take some responsibility.
HER FACE AFTER THE VERDICT 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I feel very sorry for the plaintiff's husband. He has to live with her. Scary!! The landlord was awesome and did everything right. Very detailed.
He made his bed now he sleeps in it 😃
The landlord was really responsible charging very little.
The defendant is handsome
She says the shelves aren't there but also that they are there and she's going to have to throw them out. Poor thing.
don't forget the wine rack.. even the hooks in the walls !
shes a thief..
"He could have called us." But also, "he texted us."🙄 Ma'am, you knew that you had his items. You could have called him and let him know that you were bringing the items back. Shelving? Gir,l bye! Then, the plaintiff cites friendship as if it's an excuse for not keeping a portion of $2,500 deposit. 🙄 I'm so annoyed at the audacity. Great landlord.
Doug: “You took them out?”
Plaintiff: “No I didn’t take them out”
Doug: “Somebody did 👀…
Congratulations, hope you’re happy…”
😂😂😂😂 So pettyyyy lol
When she said it’s funny my husband’s Name is John too I’m like well hell is it your husband 🤣🤣🤣🤣
She said he's nickle and diming but he has to replace those items and then he'll be nickel and diming that money...
No accountability on the plaintiffs part. She shouldn't have been awarded anything.
He’s a cheapskate
@Spiceluvj how so?
@@xXLilSmurthXx he’s nit picking over foolishness he shouldn’t have got anything back JM has some serious issues
@@xXLilSmurthXx I’ll answer you more tommoro going to bed 😴
@@Spiceluvjeasy to say when it's not coming out of your pocket! Everything adds up. He even gave them the opportunity to return the items! People like you and the plaintiff are why landlords make potential tenants jump through hoops to rent to them. Experiences with irresponsible people with no respect for other people's hard earned property.
The landlord was awesome. Very accommodating
Yes
wow handsome well-dressed landlord has auditor and/or OCD in every breath he takes - even keeps a timesheet of the hours spent moving stuff...I am wondering did he catalogue exactly what items he moved for each period of time!
The look on the plaintiff's face at the whack of the gavel says it all: "I thought I was going to win, so I bought the cutest purse...... how am I going to pay the credit card bill now?!!!! I have a one-year-old!!!"
She didn't get what she thought she was expecting
Plaintiff's excuse for everything is "It wasnt me that took it" & "I have a one year old". Am sure the husband didn't want to be here to defend his wife who is making excuses for everything...
8:48 😂😅😂😅😂👏👏👏Love it!! Your not special cuz you have a 1 year old !!
The plaintiff looks like she has a hangover!
What do you gain speaking on her looks when that doesn’t have any effect on what’s being talked about?
@keiariabailey8739 She wasn't commenting on her physical looks but her demeanor and how she looked to act. For example, because her mouth hung open a lot. I didn't think she looked hungover, but I understand why OP said that.
@@ufoundkaleyshereeexactly. I think there's some projection going on there, lol.
@@16MedicRN Nope that's how she looked drunk, hung over, or high!
It’s called a baby.
The landlord looks like someone that would say “ACTUALLY “😂😂😂
And push his glasses up with his finger, probably the middle one😅
I love it, lol. If you can’t figure out how to chew gum and walk at the same time😂 so true. She keeps saying it’s bc she has a baby. I think alot of people have been there when it comes to multitasking. Just gotta get things done.
I can't believe that They couldn't Discuss this Matter 😔 ⚖️
The renter's level of arrogance and audacity balance very well with her "care" for the apartment.
Nasty Karen and a ghost of Daren!!!
People like the plaintiff make my skin crawl! An entitled princess who feels like nothing is her responsibility. She wants to throw the blame on the defendant for not calling or texting about the missing items, but he did send a letter itemizing everything while STILL giving them the opportunity to return the items. "I have a 1yr old" is just as annoying as " I'm a single mother." Being a mom doesn't automatically make you handicapped. The defendant was fair and shouldn't have had to return anything. I mean, her husband must realize how ridiculous she is, because I can't help but notice he's not beside her during this case!
This man looks exactly like Clark Kent!
She’s shrill, horrific and entitled…ugh…poor kid & sad for husband 🙁
The landlord will learn to set better boundaries with his tenants. The lax relationship is how he ended up in court because the plantiffs took advantage of the kindness.
No, landlord did everything he was supposed to do. The tenants were in the wrong.
The look of defeat on the plaintiff's face😂 I feel bad if she has anymore kids
I have a 1 year old. She thought she was going to get sympathy from the judge for that.
stuff adds up
Landlord - Also, your honor, I would like 17 cents for the souls of my shoes that I had to used while looking around the house at all the other things I found that were wrong.
Stupid she brought this lawsuit. As a landlord I would never rent to her in the future and I’m not the only landlord to feel this way about suing tenants.
I didn’t trust her the moment I saw her face. Then I heard her voice. 😅
When I heard he was keeping $400 of $2k I was already thinking that sounded reasonable. Then he started listing things off. Clearly he's literally only charging the replacement parts. The fact that she had the audacity to say he's nickel and diming her is unreal. Especially after a TRUCKLOAD of trash was left behind
She got an unintelligent look to her
She is not an educated person.. a joke.
Good thing she brought the witness😂😂
What’s the difference if the landlord replaced the items or she ran out and bought them herself? She’s still out the money! No getting threw To pig headed woman like this!! Just no sense in even trying!!
Took advantage of a cordial relationship and then whines about it.
Defendant looks like Clark Kent ❤😂 Plaintiff's have a lot of nerve. Regardless of how little or big the items are, he still has to replace it all. Garbage move.
Husband is honest
Wife is questionable
A very accurate accounting.
Defendant looks like Clark Kent, or his son.
At the walkout, she first says she doesn't have them and then when he says someone took them down; she then says they are at the house and I don't need them and I guess I have to throw them out. Pinnochio
"That's funny that's my husbands name too" 😭😭😭😭 judge is a HOOT!
I didn't take them, I don't need them, someone took them, they're at the house....so I'm gonna have to just throw them out... What? 🤣
Judge cant complaint the defendant landlord didnt have a detailed list with costs.
The plaintiff is annoying, acts like having a child excuses her actions.
She blames everyone but herself.
holy crap , this landlord too nice....even apartment communities charge $15 for switching out light bulbs....judge should have given defendant full amount for being too generous
Talk about nickel and dime guy sheesh
Tenants are hell. DO NOT become a landlord.. it will take years off your life. He regret that I started buying rental units..
99% of the time the courts are always in favor of the tenant no matter what, and section 8 is 2 times worse.
The nickle and diming comment gave me an immediate poor reaction of the plaintiffs.
That stuff has to be replaced if its missing and your deposit is exactly what that purpose is for.
The deductions on the prices of the items seem very reasonable and well tracked.
The defendant literally offers to refund if they return missing items that they took.
At the 12:00 mark, is that Marjorie Taylor Green???
The woman totally looks like her, however she is way prettier than MTG 😂😅
Looks like her😂
The landlord is kinda fine😍
Agreed. Well dressed, professional and the glasses are the cherry 🍒 on top
He is. His demeanor in court is also kind of fine.
I'll admit I have a propensity towards the academic types myself😅
A house next door to me went up for rent & a family friend rented it. She cleaned me out of light bulbs because, except for a motion sensor light on the front porch, their were none. Also, the people who lived there before didn't give a damn about the yard & the husband was 'disabled' but working on cars like he didn't think anyone would notice. They made a mess of the yard & skipped out. LSS, she kept a tidy house & her husband kept a tidy yard. They left the house way better than they found it. They planted a tree (that's still there) and made flower beds. When they left, the owner nitpicked everything, including charging them for light bulbs. It goes both ways.😢
If we all said “I have 1 year old” for all excuses in life…
Come on, I’m a mother of 2 and it’s embarrassing
The husband probably told her to leave it alone. But ya know how women can be "o hell naw! We getting our money back!!!"
Plaintiff Learn to walk in heels and speak - WHAT HE SHOULD OF DID 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
I love when her accent comes out lmao
Why do we need Kurt telling us what the case is about, then Harvey, then the judge, then the litigant?
I hate how Plaintiff prevails technically when he wins monetarily.
Bro the defendebt is the most fair land lord with respectable prices 😂😂😂😂
ma'am the soap tray cost me .99 cents at dollar tree. please pay me back.
You didn’t do him a favor, honey…you HAVE to pay for the whole month even if you’re only there for a day. That’s the law.
He should’ve been able to keep all of what he deducted this labor, and putting all that stuff back in that she stole
Plaintiff I’d full of excuses. He was not nickel and diming her. It totaled hundreds of dollars. If it’s not that big a deal, why is she here?
