Pokemon helped Palworld simply cause they refused to change their style and stuck with the childs only game build. They refused to grow with the times and realize their player base are freaking adults now.
I also think some of it's success is due to the fact it's not locked to Nintendo consoles and therefore has a wider market

I've always been in the PlayStation ecosystem and never got to play Pokemon so hearing about all of this with Palworld has me hoping it comes to PlayStation
@cjfoster5365 I’d be surprised if it doesn’t come to PlayStation at some point. The best way to play Palworld currently is on a good PC if you have one.
It should unless either Nintendo shuts it down or Microsoft buys out the studio. All I have is a really old PC so it probably wouldn't run it very well lol
Locked games to certain platform sound like a North Korean principle though, obviously more platform= more customers...

I think it also needs to be brought up that Palworlds isnt a greedy as bish selling two copies of the exact same game with extreamly minute changes between them. If the price of a pokemon game was halved to make buying both copies reasonably priced, I wouldn't mind. But spending a quarter of a paycheck on just one gen is absurd. And everyone complained when the new gta is rumored to cost over 100 usd.

I love the fact Lethal Company and Palworld has no micro-transactions. It's like being back in the 90s when video games were fun and you only paid for them once!

@TrainerAQ exactly. First ever video game I played was Pokémon heartgold on my DS. Legends Arceus was alright and a step in the right direction but not my favorite. Playing most other games nowadays and only getting a mediocre experience unless you pay to have fun is annoying.
If people are gonna sit here and say this game ripped off other games, then people are being hypothetical, cause you have fortnite with their glider thing, conan with their slave thing, not to mention every building mechanic from every survival game out there is pretty much the same, only looks a little different, and some maybe even tweeked just a little, and the biggest 1 is pokemon..... once youve created how many creatures with how many different moves your gonna see similarities especially when doing for so long, and then you have the straight up copies of game play such as tem tem, and such, and people have been fine with most of these other games. Even modders have been desperate to get pokemon in games like minecraft..... theres been an out cry, and palworld has delivered, im excited for updates and tweeks to make the palworld game better, and hopefully this is a wake up call for nintendo to change up their games up more than just the monsters they're running out of ideas for to create
Agreed. Arceus is genuinely a beautiful masterpiece. I LOVE that I’m building the first Pokédex with history and science at the center. So brilliant and the freedom to run away and not have a 15 second animation to simple run away, is such a great leap in the right direction but I’ve been asking and waiting for when the adult spin-off would be capitalized on, thinking surely they know how many adults are playing and would love to see their childhood pocket monsters come to a more realistic realm where we get less cartoon and more of the blistering heat from a fire dragon and how that would actually feel. I mean at least Arceus had the Pokémon be as freightening as they always say they are. FINALLY they can kill me! Weeeee! Nearly finished with Arceus, just picked it back up and love it. But it’s not finished yet. I hope they take palworld and next level it

arceus is overrated as hell there's no reason to even use the mons you caught outside the small number story battles the game play loop is go from point a to b and throw ball
which is fine if you like that but lets not pretend the game is a master piece cause it was a very shallow and barebone's experience it just looks good compared the other slop gamefreak has put out.

At such a low price with barely a development budget and almost zero experience they still make far better than game freak has with decades of experience and millions of dollars. Plus palworld managed the apparently Herculean task of having the entire pal roster instead of cutting the national deck. Yes I'm still better about the national dex! They ripped out content and added nothing but fanboys said be nice to the multimillion dollar company.

being on a mobile chipset means nothing, look at tears of the kingdom. gamefreak is just fucking lazy, that's all it boils down to.
Yeah, ToTK definitely puts GameFreak to shame. I heard recently that it could also be due to how little time they’re giving GameFreak to make the games, but then that’s on the Pokemon company. Either way, they look bad. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Best-case scenario in my eyes: GameFreak realizes that their monopoly isn't guaranteed and steps up their game in the future, resulting in way better games. While Palworld and maybe other newcomers can coexist.

Pokemon Colosseum was amazing, but it wasn't profitable enough, so they just played things safe.
It's sad how far pokemon has deteriorated that people even go as far as praising a half finished game like legends arcues bc of how low the standards have been set by gamefreak

Listen i love palworld and pokemon. I hate the people whiteknighting pokemon like they need legal help at all. Now saying that, there are a lot of pals that are right on the boundary of infringement if they arent infringing to begin with. The cinderace/verdash is pretty close. Same with boltmane and luxray. I dont know where the line lays as far as "original" and "infringement" but i hope the devs had access to good lawyers who could steer them the right way. I know the game itself is fine, not sure about the designs, though.

@@lightdarksoul2097all the 'stolen' designs are either real existing animals, like Evie. Or essentially mythic creatures from world culture, that don't even look that much alike to pokemon.
Pokemon shot themselves in the foot by not setting S&V to run on the Legenes Arecus format. I am mentally preparing to not buy the next Gen 10 mainline game if it does not have Legends battle, capture, and crafting mechanics.
I never bought Sword and Shield. Why? Cause I do not believe in giving companies money for crappy games. You incentivise them to work less for the same or even more profits.

Oh boy, I can't for the end of the year and the release of Metroid Prime 4. Metroid Prime 4-FPS that is.
Ultra Sun and Moon were the last good and complete main series Pokemon games.
Gen 4 remakes were hyped up to be equal or greater than Sword and Shield, consider every previous remake was on par with its current gen, and they just gave fans the finger instead. At that point I swore off Pokemon until they give proper remakes.
Palworld is what pokemon promised us (would eventually show up but never did) since gen 1.
I’m staying with palworld even if they decide to make a good Pokémon game next time because I’d rather play a creature collector on my pc then the switch unless they decide to put Pokemon on pc too
I had a feeling some people would. Nintendo probably lost a great deal of the adult audience with this
Palworld could have had only copies of Pokémon and it would still be funnier and much more enjoyable
Pokemon does what Bethesda does and thats making the same game over and over with a different skin.
Now the next step to Palworld increasing success would be to release plushies!
