This is a big help to all mom struggling for home school for their children. Lucky my son still have a lot of time to prepare because his only 3 years old. I have some ideas from here. Thanks for sharing.
Yes! And I feel like...when there are such beautiful and well-thought out, fun curriculums out there...for me anyways, why go to all the work to DIY everything? I know some people genuinely enjoy it. I like planning some of my own add-on activities, but I really like using a curriculum as the core.
There's lots of brilliant ideas and resources inside the curriculums! I love the shape picture resources! I love the idea of having a base and resources to draw from. Thanks so much for sharing!
Yes, I don't think there's any one curriculum that has everything, but there are definitely some useful resources, and I like not having to make everything. We have really liked using our little envelopes with different cards for different activities!
This was great - I also love curriculum and curriculum combining 🤣. I planning on using the Gentle & Classical Preschool for my twins but I really like the look of the Horizons too. I might look into it - it looks a bit easier to pull off and I need easy this year!!
Horizons is definitely easy with the fact that you don't need to find almost anything extra to go with it! And my son loves all the different matching games or little laminated activities that we made from the Horizons workbook...but I think Gentle + Classical is really cool, too, and I love their emphasis on memory statements/speaking, for my toddler. Because he actually needs to work more on speaking, he's great with a pencil for his age but has been a bit of a slow talker.
Seven In All My twins are slow talkers too! I feel like I’ve been so focused on the big kids homeschool that I haven’t really planned much for the twins - but I’m getting excited to start pick up a few extra things 😀
Hello Rachel, This information was very handful for many people and I will share it. Thank you for your channel. Come on you are almost in the 1000. My sub and my support from Brainstrains!
This was soo soo interesting! Thanks so much for sharing. I was looking at timberdoodles workbooks for my son who is two soo to be three. But these give me some new things to consider.
I have heard of Peaceful Preschool! It looks so pretty 😊 I like the life skills aspect! We used K4 and K5 from Abeka, I like it but we are going a different direction this Year!
I like the concept of Peaceful Preschool, but as it's one of the more "advanced" preschool programs, my toddler isn't quite at the right age level for it right now. My family has used a lot of Abeka curriculum in the past, but I think it's a bit too workbook heavy for our leanings...
Your videos are so educationally and learn so much especially about home school helps so much when keeping my boys at home during the pandemic but I am so glad they are back to school now lol
I love the idea all lessons are based on the Bible!!! I love the idea of doing different activities thruout the week based on a story!!! When we did preschool at home we did it in German and they we r to pre school i4 a few sessions a week. I didn’t think I was homeschooling at the time. We didn’t do much colouring in as I felt that we should focus on fine motor skills and their creativity. That came from my training as a pre school teacher. Those guides can be used together very well!!! My daughter was advanced as a pre schooler, her twin brother was but we didn’t know what he was able to do as he was hiding his abilities. I saw kids at work like him as well. I like having ideas to help us.
Fun! You seem like a fun and loving mom and sister! I love having a curriculum! It takes a lot of stress off of me. We use things from different curriculums but we keep to one main one. 😘💞
I definitely agree that having a curriculum takes away a lot of the stress and uncertainty! If there's an activity that you don't want to do, you can just skip it!
haha, we are all about reusing and making the most of what we have! It's hard to get new books since we live overseas, so we use the books we have for all they're worth!
Great resource! My youngest is 2 so we’ll do another year of reading, playing, talking, and singing. Then we’ll be looking for preschool stuff again! My middle son used horizons for 3s and we loved it! But tried their pre-k the next year and hated it! I’m thinking horizons 3s, my father’s world, or sonlight for my youngest when he turns 3!
That's totally me, as well! Mixing the best pieces of different curriculums. My son loves all the little "envelopes" of different game pieces for horizons. I didn't even buy that curriculum for him, it's one my mom bought for one of my sisters years ago, so it's definitely getting a lot of use now! :)
@@SevenInAll wow that's awesome! I love that you lamented the pages to use over and over again. I'm all about saving time and money so that was a great idea!
I like the coloring of Abeka. Wow Cyrus is really good at coloring in the lines already!!!! I gotta get working on that with Marley. The animal focused crafts look awesome. We were learning about an animal a day I need to try to incorporate some crafts into that. I think Abeka is my favorite I might try to get it. I like how the units are broken down
He actually is pretty good at coloring...though he definitely has times when he just goes wild with the crayons. :) We've tried to build in a habit of "These coloring books are special for school" so that he has the habit of following instructions and working on staying in the lines for those books...and then I have a couple cheap coloring books that he goes wild scribbling in. :)
I have a soft spot for preschool too!! I teach High schoolers right now I absolutely love them but I would love to teach Pre-K one day they are so cute at that age. Oh the Horizon curriculum looks awesome. Getting ideas because I might be homeschooling my little in the fall. She was suppose to start school in the fall but now I don’t know. The problem is I will be working all day so we will have to do “school” at night and I’m not sure I’ll keep up with it. Sunlight looks awesome. I like how it uses actual story books for learning. The flip flap body book looks neat I haven’t heard of Georgia Martha either I’ll have to look into that author
I definitely have a soft spot for "literature based" learning, so I'll always love Sonlight! But there are so many good options! I have known a number of moms who homeschool while working full time--my aunt worked full time and homeschooled her four kids, but she had the option of working night shift, so that's how she did it. I know some parents turn weekends into school days to help with the schedule...there are lot of different options if you're not eager to put her in school with the current situation.
I am sure you have helped so many people with this video! Purchasing the curriculum has to be really difficult when you are just started out. Such an investment!
Yes, it is an investment, for SURE. Which is why I want to help other families make the right decision for them! Because my family has been homeschooling for so many years, we've collected these programs for use with different kids, haha!
Your envelope system for the activities is such a great idea! I also have bought way too many preschool programs LOL! ABC Jesus Loves Me, The Good and the Beautiful PreK, Gentle and Classical Preschool, Masterbooks Stepping Stones and Math K, and a bunch of other random stuff. My daughter is 2.5 and maybe I am biased, but I feel at least in math and literacy she is advanced. Which leaves me confused on if traditional preschool level is adequate for her. I guess that is why I have so much. To try to piece it together. Ok, back to watch more of your video LOL!
Well, part of my variety of programs is because, as a second-gen homeschooler, I have access to my mom's stuff that she bought for various siblings. This is definitely a bonus. haha! I definitely think with kids who are advanced in certain areas, piecing together the parts of the curriculum that work best for you is a great system! My son loves his schoolwork, and is recognizing letters, numbers, etc, but he's been a bit slower on talking, which is why, as you'll hear in the video, I've found that practicing the different memory statements from Gentle + Classical Preschool has been good for us!
@@SevenInAll That definitely must be helpful to you to have those resources! The biggest thing I see that my daughter really needs to work on is the fine motor aspect to prepare for writing. I am a former preschool teacher, so I think my love of all things curriculum and planning play a big part in how much I buy! :) It is just so much fun!
Since creating this video, I have developed my own homeschool preschool curriculum available in Spanish and English. You can watch a video to see what that curriculum is like right here: ruclips.net/video/_3ZxJ2jz4Zw/видео.html
Yes thank you I've discovered from watching your video about I don't want to use none of these programs I believe I will just build one from scratch thank you for the help
Many families do end up building their own preschool curriculum! Enjoy the process! It can be fun to design exactly what you want to do and teach your child!
I love what you did by laminating and reusing the worksheet pages from Horizons. I will be using Horizons.
Yes! We have repeated those activities so many times, since they are laminated. It's well worth it, to really get your money's worth out of them!
You showed and discribed different curriculums so well, you are a real expert in homeschooling, enjoyed watching 👍
Thank you so much for watching!
great comparison flip through . So many great options out there

My children attended a Christian preschool and they used ABEKA. Its great to see so many more options. We did like the ABEKA program. Blessings!
Yes, I think Abeka has been a big player in both Christian school and homeschool curriculum for a long time!
I am really considering homeschooling for my son especially with everything that’s happening. Thanks for sharing.😊🌟
I already know you said you love spending time at home with your kids, so I think you would rock homeschooling if you decide to go that route!
I absolutely love this! It was beyond helpful! THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for this review! It’s very thorough!
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for this ❤ Horizons and Abeka look like a go too 😊 i will be doing videos on Horizons and abeka this upcoming school year 😊
Thanks for watching!
Nice comparative video on home school preschool curriculum! Very colorful and illustrative curriculum. Thanks.
Thank you! I hope this video will be helpful for people trying to make the decision of which one to buy!
I really admire you for home schooling because I know how hard it is
